We just had 9 days at Rey Carlos. Accept the hotel has some rooms that need a little updating but even with that our room was in very good condition and absolutely spotlessly clean and was (like all their rooms) an entire one bed spacious apartment with kitchenette, lounge and very good size balcony. For the price including breakfast for two weeks we found Rey Carlos unbeatable value for money. Location is very convenient for beaches and transport as well as restaurants. Lovely spotless large swimming pool for windy days. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were truly superbly friendly and helpful in English and with most guests being German staff seem multilingually competent. Don't expect 5 star standard and you should be pleasantly surprised.

Wouldn't go back, rooms clean but furniture dates back to 70s 80s. Couldn't use the draws in the bedroom because the door of the wardrobe that housed them only opened so far. Went self catering, no kettle, toaster or microwave, only 2 hobs and an old fashion coffee machine, don't drink coffee. Cutlery and cooking utensils very poor, ended up buying our own. Pool bar open till 6pm but the indoor bar didn't open at all so couldn't have a drink in the evening, had to go out. Loved the location, so many bars and restaurants and supermarkets all within walking distance. Hotel totally let it down, so basic. Some of the reception staff were quite rude. Would definitely return to the area just not the hotel.

The employees are super nice and helpful. The place could use a bit of an update. Although, we only stayed here for one night as we had another place booked for the rest of our stay.

My husband paid for 2 nights and they have told my husband that he cannot stay in the room during the day and has to check out at 12pm and then go back later. I am appalled as he has nowhere to go and we have PAID for the apartment for 48 hours. They told him if he wants to stay in the room during the day he needs to pay €25 euros. THIS WAS NOT MENTIONED DURING BOOKING AND IS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. I have paid for a service I have not received and I am now very stressed and upset. I am disgusted, never in my life have I heard of this nonsense.

Old hotel but very cozy with comfortable decor. The rooms are so unusual that they are just as great as they are. The employees are nice and especially caring. The food was always very good. The location is perfect to get back to the hotel quickly after the party. The beach is also not far away and can be easily reached on foot. Looking forward to my next vacation in November.
