Unfortunately, my experience at the Westgate has been consistently disappointing. During my recent stay, most of the outlets in the room weren’t working, and the sink wasn’t clean upon arrival. Although customer service informed me I could check in early, the front desk was unaccommodating when it came to storing my luggage or offering assistance. I ended up waiting 30 minutes to check in due to ongoing “inspections.” This is my second stay at a Westgate property, and both times I encountered unwelcoming service at the front desk—staff seemed indifferent and unapproachable. Similarly, the bartenders were very noticeably rude and curt with me, while being much friendlier to other guests, particularly foreign men. As a young black woman I can definitely feel the shift in behavior the bartenders had with them vs me - very rude! In 2023, I stayed with a group of girlfriends and felt the overall atmosphere was not ideal for a lively girls trip. If you’re looking for that fun vibe this isn’t the place. This time, I was traveling with my younger brother and again felt like we were being treated as an inconvenience. There was an overall lack of warmth and friendliness that made us feel uncomfortable with asking for help with anything. Based on these repeated experiences, I would not choose to stay at this hotel again unfortunately. decent location though lol

We paid €400 per night, and I have to say the room didn’t feel worth that price. We even had to request water bottles every day, as they weren’t offered automatically. On the positive side, the room was clean, and the staff were very polite, friendly, and flexible. However, keep in mind that the showers seemed designed by men for men—there’s a fixed overhead showerhead you can’t adjust, so if you’re trying to avoid washing your hair… good luck. I also didn’t like the first room we were upgraded to because it had very poor lighting, but I was offered three alternatives and got to choose, which I appreciated. Also if you are talking know that your neighbor can hear everything. The location was definitely a highlight—super convenient and made our stay easier. Overall, I’d say this is more of a 3-star hotel, but hey, everything in NYC is overpriced anyway

We booked a queen room, when we got to the room there was a very small bed, had to go back to the lobby and ask for another room with a big bigger bed. I was missing water bottles in the bedroom? Sorry, tap water in New york was tasting like bleach. Breakfast was kind of disappointing. You will get it in a bag, it has a kind of prossesed orange juice, a weird type of crossaint , sweet joghurt and some times a banana. As a big hotel you can do better! Rooms were really clean. And the location of the hotel is great, however we got a room on the 4th floor, and the metro was really hearable in the bedroom, it did wake me up.

My husband and I absolutely LOVED this place!! We were super skeptical because of the reviews but I think people that travel to NY don’t understand NY lol The room was EXACTLY what you need. We used it to shower & sleep while we toured the amazing city. The bus drops you off directly in front of the hotel. It’s so close to grand central station. It was clean & the staff were so nice to us. We were so busy we didn’t get a chance to use the amenities but the gym looked nice and had everything you needed. It was very convenient and we would definitely book there again!

My fiancé and I just had the best stay here. It completely saved our trip to NYC. We originally booked another so-called “four star” hotel in Chelsea, which was truly terrible, so we switched to Westgate, and the room was pristine and stunning; the staff were lovely; the location was two blocks from Grand Central and the Chrysler Building; and it was exactly the same price as the other hotel. This is TRULY a four star hotel; it’s super easy to get anywhere in the city from the hotel; and the rooms are extremely nice to relax in. We’ll be staying here every time we come back to NYC.
