Perfect hotel! The room was big for NYC and very comfortable. Shower pressure was perfect and elevator very fast. Location next to Grand Central is ideal to go everywhere by subway. A CVS is 3 minutes away to get basic food. A Starbucks is inside the hotel and many takeaways to walk, also a free gym. Doorman were always very polite. We were happy with our stay.

Date of stay: June 17, 2025 I am currently staying at the Westgate in New York. Overall, the hotel itself is decent and quite nice. However, my experience with the front desk staff was disappointing. When I asked for a pair of slippers, I was told to come down and get them myself, not a big deal, but not exactly the level of service you’d expect. Later, I called housekeeping to ask for an adapter, and they kindly said they would send someone to my room. They followed through quickly, so thank you to the housekeeping team; definitely more helpful than the front desk. The bigger issue was the air conditioning. At check-in on June 17, I noticed the lobby was hot and asked about it. I was told the AC was down but would be fixed within a few hours. When I returned around midnight, it still wasn’t working. I called the front desk again, and the response was dismissive—no timeline, no apology. I asked for someone to check on it because my room was uncomfortably warm and humid. Thankfully, the maintenance technician who came was very polite and apologetic. He offered to bring a fan, which he did right away. That helped a lot, and I appreciated his attitude. To sum up: the hotel is good and most of the staff are professional and courteous. But the front desk service needs serious improvement.

I went for a night- since I was traveling to Brooklyn for a show. I drove in about 1.5 hours. I absolutely had the best experience but only because of the front desk - Christina was the most amazing woman. She helped me with every single thing and it made me feel like I was home. Especially since I was a solo woman traveler. Thank you so much Christina and she needs a raise! lol. The room was amazing and the lobby was beautiful. So cool being in a hotel from the 20’s. Location was perfect!! Its gonna be my new favorite place to stay when I go to BK. Was only 10m to drive from there. I will be back! Can’t wait for mt next trip. Thank you guys so much!!!

The hotel has the old school charm that you'd expect from a Manhattan hotel. A friend we were traveling with was upgraded from a standard room to a king room in their standard lodgings. Unfortunately, she was bitten multiple times by FLEAS during her two night stay. She notified the hotel on night 2 and was moved at 1am. The hotel staff were diligent in getting her a new room, conducted a thorough search of the room and her belongings. They did NOT, however, comp her a one night stay which they should have. Instead, she was nonchalantly told that a guest with a pet must have stayed the night before. She was comped ONLY the resort fee. Really bad service in that regard. We, however, were traveling for our anniversary and received a complimentary upgrade to a larger king room. It was lovely and the service was great. If my friend was compensated for a full night's stay for the mental stress of bringing BUGS home, I would have given this hotel 5 stars.

My stay at the Westgate was amazing. From the moment I arrived, the front desk and staff were polite and welcoming. My room was on the 20th floor. It was very spacious, and my rooftop view was the icing on the cake. I was within walking distance of Time Square and other downtown attractions. This hotel is a national historic landmark. The original name was the Tudor Hotel and it was built in 1927. I highly recommend staying if you are planning on going to Manhattan.
