Nice hotel and SUPER friendly housekeeping staff... seriously, they were THE BEST!
The front desk ranged from super helpful/friendly to average... but no problems there.
They were replacing elevators and so only 1 or 2 of many were operable which made for RIDICULOUSLY long waits to get up to/down from your floor.
My real issue is the amenities IN the rooms. The rooms themselves were nice enough with a lot of NYC photography which I really enjoyed but...
No refrigerator
No coffee maker (and nowhere to even buy coffee before 6:30 am)
No microwave
No USB ports anywhere
The clock doesn't light up at all so you have to turn the light on to see the time.
The view was trash (this I didn't actually mind too too much... Manhattan isn't called the Concrete Jungle for nothing.)
Plus free breakfast and coffee were offered but only to certain guests and we didn't make the cut despite our $8k price tag.
This was a work related trip but I wouldn't book it again if I had a choice.

We recently checked out of the hotel and had a great stay. The beds were very comfortable, and our location was conveniently close to Times Square, with easy access to lower Manhattan and stone throw to Central Park. For being on a busy street, it was really quiet and slept through the night easy.
Despite some negative reviews we read about the elevator and smoke detector, we did not encounter any issues during our stay. The average Q time was like 5 minutes and 10 during peak times. The family utilized the hair dryer and iron, with no notice of smoke. Overall, it was an amazing stay

Great hotel, great value, great location and nice staff. My room was nice and big and so was the bed! The only complain I have is that the elevator is being renovated, apparently it has been months. It’s sometimes annoying especially in the morning as people need to check out.

Unbelievably bad hotel. On our third day there we received a charge of $1000 for “smoking” twice in the hotel. We are not smokers and none of us own a single smoking product. We explained this over and over, and even pointed out that we were there to run a half marathon so why would we be smoking right before it? They agreed to waive the charges. Then, on the next night staying there, their machine incorrectly charged us for smoking AGAIN. So we went to the management, expecting they would understand that we obviously wouldn’t smoke after the last experience. No, they claimed their machines are “100% accurate” and we had to argue with them our whole way out to get it waived. Why in the world would we smoke in the room at this point and why in the world would they not believe us by now? It would be crazy to risk that if we knew there were machines, so obviously we are not lying. I hope that the next people staying in room 1509 see this review so that they have it as evidence if they are faultily charged for “smoking”.
They also had a man stand at our door with a machine “checking our locks”. I assume this had something to do with distrusting us over the smoking charges, but they refused to explain so I honestly don’t know what was going on for sure. It was weird and uncomfortable.
The hotel is in a nice location and decently well kept. Housekeeping starts a little early but overall it is fine. While I appreciate from reading many of the reviews that they informed others of the elevator issues, they did not do so for us which was annoying.

I should have given five stars for the comical experience! This is probably a 20+ floor hotel with gazillion rooms on each floor. But out of four elevators, only one functions, which goes only up. The first night, I could not go down as none of the elevators worked. I finally saw a couple being directed by a cleaning person to use the service elevators. The funny thing was that the same person did not mention that option to me when he saw me waiting in front of the elevators pressing the buttons for 15 minutes.
Basically, to go down, especially when you have a luggage and don’t want to use the stairs, you needed to use the service elevators, for which you might have to wait 10-15 minutes as everyone used them.
And, every time I used them, I got a kick out of the experience. So, imagine you leave your pretty room, walk on the nice corridors, and finally enter the service elevator space, which is a very old looking industrial, run down area. And after waiting for 10-15 minutes, you hear the old service elevator doors opening with a squeaky sound. And inside the metal covered, old looking service elevator there appears a bunch of very unhappy but well dressed men and women! Colorful coats, dresses, young and old people at different heights, but frowning with no one talking until it would reach the lobby. I wish I took a picture of this scene that repeated every time I needed to go down. It was such a funny contrast you could only find in cartons.
Anyway, for a hotel at that caliber not to have functioning elevators despite having so many guests, the situation was kind of a bad joke.
Now, I have to give them credit that they had put a sign asking for patience while they were repairing the elevators. And they even put signs the second day when I was there to inform us to use the service elevators and to provide directions about where they were located. I am glad I was not in a time pressure while staying at the hotel.
Dissatisfaction is their reply! The comedy continues. You have >50 rooms on each of the 20+ floors and you have NONE functioning regular elevators that would bring you to the lobby! And on your website you are not warning about the situation before someone can make a reservation. That is what I would call deceiving guests! In this age, that is not acceptable.
