A Disappointing Stay
I recently stayed here and unfortunately, my experience did not live up to expectations. Here’s a detailed account of my stay:
### Room Condition: A Step Back in Time
Upon entering my room, I was immediately struck by the outdated decor. The furnishings felt like they hadn't been updated in decades, giving the room a tired and worn-out appearance. To make matters worse, the walls were dampened, leading to an uncomfortable musty smell that lingered throughout my stay. It was clear that the hotel was in dire need of renovations to bring it up to modern standards.
### Beachside Service: Lacking Attention
One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was its proximity to the beach. However, I was disappointed to find that there was no customer service available on the beach. Guests were left to fend for themselves, which detracted from the overall experience. It would have been nice to have staff available to assist with beach chairs, umbrellas, or refreshments, but instead, it felt like a deserted stretch of sand.
### Dining Experience: A Ghost Town
The on-site restaurant was another letdown. During my visit, it seemed almost empty, which was concerning. The lack of patrons made the atmosphere feel cold and uninviting. The menu was limited, and the food did not match the prices, leaving much to be desired. Dining here felt more like a chore than a pleasure, and I found myself opting for local eateries instead.
### Overall Impression: More of a Motel Feel
Overall, my stay at Seaside Retreat Hotel felt more akin to a motel than a resort. The combination of outdated rooms, lack of beach service, and a lifeless restaurant left me feeling disappointed. While the location was ideal, the hotel itself did not deliver the quality and experience I had hoped for.
### Conclusion
If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, I would recommend exploring other options. This hotel has potential, but it desperately needs updates and improved service to truly enhance the guest experience. For now, I would rate my stay as a 1 out of 5, hoping that the management takes steps to address these issues for future guests.
This building just needs to revamped completely. Stay in a motel than this.

Excellent hotel right on the beach. The restaurant has a fantastic view when you enjoy your breakfast or dinner. It has a romantic vibe, although unfortunately, I was on my own. Nevertheless, the hotel was gorgeous, and the staff were absolutely amazing throughout my stay- very friendly and knowledgeable about the city.

Overall great budget friendly resort. The staff was very pleasant and friendly, the beach was clear/claim for swimming, and the grounds clean/beautiful. The downside is the resort needs repairs/remodel. The onsite restaurant at the resort is pricey but there are options a short walk or cab ride away.

Starting off in terms of location and beach front real estate this hotel is unmatched , you cannot get a property closer to the beach than this! The beaches are also stunning with amazing white sand and crystal clear blue waters. In terms of the property , prices and staff friendliness well that is another story. The hotel rooms though they have an exceptional view (beach facing ) the bathroom shower tap never stopped leaking even though I reported it several times and nothing was done , the beds are not very comfortable and even though is a blessing to have an AC it kept switching on and off (trying to regulate temperature) but it was not successful , also at night time these little Beatles came out and were all over the room floor which made it hard to sleep thinking they may come into the bed. Then the food at the hotel the prices are super expensive for food that was not bad but definitely not at the standard of the prices they charge and you almost simply “forced “ to eat there as there not much else around unless you grab a taxi (which by the way you need cash always as there hardly any of them that accept cards ) the diners were the best but lunch and breakfast I didn’t go more than once in 3 days. Then the hotel staff were some of the most unfriendly I have experienced for a long time and for such a fun and hospitable country this was sad too see! The staff hardly ever greeted , a lot of negative sassy attitudes and eveyrhing asked made you seem as if they had to do you a favor! I asked if they could find someone to do a manicure or a place close by and I was told I would get a call this never happened . I was also pushed from pillar to post for a proper smoking area by the property as no one seemed to know where it was and the rudeness in the attitude not acceptable! Once I asked for a Coca Cola and she took a plastic half empty bottle of 500ml out the cupboard by the bar and poured it , it was already flat and no flavor yet charged me almost 4 USD for it. My last morning I wanted to swim on the beach but it was covered In horses they were bathing them and the horses used the ocean as a toilet so I was no going to swim after that! Overall it’s a great location and I am a beach lover but based off the service received alone I will not be back at this property!

My stay in Barbados was great. It's a beautiful country, surrounded by stunning blue seas, and I would recommend anyone to visit. However, my experience at the Radisson Hotel was far from satisfactory for several reasons.
**Hotel Condition:** Despite the brand name, the hotel was very outdated. It did not live up to the standards one would expect from a Radisson property.
**Restaurant Experience:** The restaurant was overpriced, and the food quality was subpar. The eggs tasted like they were made from powder, and the bread seemed to have been frozen and then reheated. I ordered a breakfast burrito, which was quite disgusting. When the waitress noticed I hadn't eaten it, she inquired if I liked it. I politely responded that it didn't taste good and asked for my check. Surprisingly, she still charged me the full $30 for the burrito, without offering any compensation or discount. She only refunded it after I expressed my dissatisfaction directly.
**Customer Service:** As we were leaving, an employee (possibly security) asked if we had paid the bill. This was both unprofessional and embarrassing, especially since we had already settled the bill.
**Positive Aspect:** The one redeeming quality of the hotel was the ocean view. We enjoyed seeing the horses in the water in the morning, which was very relaxing.
**Recommendation:** I would never stay at this Radisson again. I recommend finding a cheaper hotel in the Gap area, which would likely offer a better overall experience and more value for your money.
**Advice to Radisson:** As a major hotel chain attracting numerous tourists to Barbados, it's crucial to invest in your infrastructure. Please improve the quality and value of your services to match the expectations of your guests. We spend our hard-earned money to visit your country and also pay a government tax when we leave the hotel. Currently, I would rate my experience at the Radisson as zero stars.
Summary
While Barbados is a fantastic destination, the Radisson Hotel did not meet expectations in terms of service and quality. I strongly suggest considering alternative accommodations to enhance your stay on this beautiful island.
