We were mildly surprised and very pleased with this hotel. The subway is located right at the restaurant door running uptown and downtown. When going to the Natural History Museum or to the WTC, the C train was our go to ride. The staff at the door were great. The rooms are clean. They happily gave us towels when requested as well. Very friendly. The Botte Italian inspired restaurant is clean and has great food. The portions are just right! Dinners are excellent and they even have a Happy Hour for those who like to have a drink in the evening. I highly recommend getting the breakfast package when booking your stay. There is a small park nearby with trees and there is a police outpost nearby too, so it feels safe. There is a $1.50 cheese pizza within walking distance and a few other quick meal stops if Italian isn't your thing. Definitely stay here! Its clean, quiet and value for your money!

the rooms were fine. the location was fine. service was terrible. the elevators were so incredibly slow — most of the time there was a line for the elevator and we had to wait 20 minutes just to get up to our floor. most people just used the stairs. only one elevator was working while the other one was off and on (we were stuck in it one of the times it broke). the room keys didn’t work very well, we constantly had to keep getting new ones because they stopped working — which sucks after going all the way up the stairs.

Update: there's some bizarre billing behaviour from this hotel with respect to credit card activities. They will initially put a hold on your cc when you check in for the room+security hold. When you check out a second pending charge will go on your card without dropping the initial hold. The result is that you will likely have thousands of dollars of spending room on your credit card gobbled up for days and possibly up to over half a week if you check out just before a weekend. Unsure if this is bad behaviour or incompetence. =====original review===== It's good. Rooms are decent size and clean. Currently a bunch of roadwork being done outside of the hotel at night which is unfortunate but not too loud. If you want a quieter room pick the ones closer to the rear lane.

We stayed at this beautiful, clean, hotel while attending the Five Boro Bike Tour 2024. As did several others! Hotel is close to the subway and side street is safe and convenient for Uber. Rooms are compact but well appointed. Botte Restaurant has home made pasta and intriguing cocktails. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Our request for extra towels was filled quickly. There is a fantastic Poke Bowl restaurant around the corner, and a great pizza place on the corner across from that. Makes for a great walk-about and treat.

Even though I am a loyal Hilton member, due to an unexpected situation, I missed my flight the night before. However, I still booked the same hotel and room for the next day. I explained the situation to the front desk, hoping someone would help resolve the issue of the previous night's charge, but I was still charged. Today, I called to inquire and was told that the manager refused to refund the charge for the previous night. Since choosing Hilton, I have experienced better handling of similar situations at other Hilton hotels.
