Overall, the staff at the hotel is fantastic and the location is convenient for my business trips. The hotel is always clean and well-maintained. The rooms are comfortable, the beds are cozy, and the lobby has a welcoming atmosphere. There’s even a patio area at the front where guests can sit and enjoy the pleasant NYC evenings. The front desk staff, including Destiny, deserve a 5-star rating. However, one front desk staff member only earns a 1-star rating. He is frequently on his phone and rarely acknowledges guests when they arrive or after a long day exploring the city. The maintenance and engineering staff receive 5 stars, and so do the cleaning staff and breakfast area attendants. Unfortunately, the general manager, only deserves a 1-star rating. As I mentioned in my review with IHG, she rarely greets guests upon arrival. There's never a simple "hello, how are you?" or "thank you for choosing us for your stay." I've witnessed her, what seemed to the GM, reprimanding a front desk employee on the patio, and I overheard her yelling from behind the front desk. If you look into the office area, you'll see notes written in RED ink with a harsh tone. This is not an effective way to motivate staff, nor does it create a positive impression for guests during check-in or check-out.

get all kinds of goodies to help you enjoy your stay. Destiny at the front desk was super funny and welcoming and made me feel right at home. Thad a request to change my room and she got it done with no problems at all. She made sure the check-in was fast and smooth and that I also had a great view of the Empire State Building from my room :)

I have been very happy with the staff at the Holiday Inn during my last two stays. I had previously been to this hotel and after a flight change I was leaving early, before the flight got cancelled. The staff with out frustration or hesitation welcomed me back even though I had just left they gave me a new clean room. After this experience, I decided to return. When I walked through the doors I was remembered and welcomed back like family by Destiny. She was apart of the same group who worked with me last time, and it made me happy to have a smiling face with a bit of familiarity as I was travelling alone. This was one of my best experiences staying at a hotel, and it really made a difference. Thanks Destiny!

Excellent experience. We rented an Airbnb that resulted to be horrible, so we hit our cellphones and reserved last minute in this amazing hotel. Prices were very reasonable (we were on a budget), and we got the highest floor, with a view of the Empire State building. Room was clean, no bad odors, and the whole staff was professional and friendly. And we would like to mention Destiny from front desk, she was unbelievably helpful and proactive. We'll be definitely be back.

I've lost count of how many times I've stayed at this hotel and it's always been enjoyable. The only thing I noticed on this visit, is that the room (#1105) seems to have taken a bit of an "aging"! I know that wear and tear are part of the trade, but appearance makes a difference...primarily in the bathroom! The shower curtain was torn in several places across the top; the bath tub had a few marks and dirt spots on it; there was no suitcase stand available for use; and the air vent cover on the bathroom ceiling seemed to be hanging a bit low! These were not major concerns, but it's the first time I've taken notice of such issues. Otherwise, the one night stay was comfortable, relaxing and quiet. I've already booked our next three day/night stay in October and we're looking forward another great visit to the CITY! Thank you...best! Steven M Giles
