We had an incredible stay at the Hilton Cabo Verde Sal Resort in July. The hotel itself is kept clean and feels light and airy due to the open plan design with a spacious lobby. Pool area is quiet, relaxing and has it’s own pool bar/restaurant, the freshly made oven cooked pizzas were delicious and they served refreshing iced coffees and juices. The restaurant staff even bring the food over to your pool side deckchairs if you wish. Hotel staff and reception were incredibly warm, friendly and hospitable nothing was too much trouble and were very helpful whenever we asked for something. We enjoyed a fabulous massage at the spa along with the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room facilities. The therapists at the spa were attentive and welcoming. The hotel beach was kept immaculately clean with plenty of deckchairs to use for free to relax on. The Bounty beach restaurant has a relaxed ambience and offers an alternative dining experience with different dishes (to the buffet) and stunning sea views. The breakfast buffet in the hotel has a variety of options. However, the two negatives about the main restaurant is that flies would often go on the uncovered food e.g pastries, fruit at breakfast. The restaurant balcony doors should be kept closed to prevent this from happening. Also, as a vegetarian there was not much variety in the evening buffet. Overall had a very relaxing stay, the hotel is clean and well maintained and the welcoming and helpful service is unmatched.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding stay – the best hotel in Cape Verde! If you’re planning a trip to Cape Verde and need a hotel, look no further — this multiple award-winning 5-star Hilton is hands down the best you’ll find. From the moment you walk into the huge, open reception, you’re greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and the concierge took our luggage and personally escorted us to our room. Our room was absolutely stunning (just look at the photos!). It was the biggest hotel room we’ve ever stayed in, beautifully decorated with artwork, lamps, sofas, a table and chairs both inside and outside on the balcony. The bathroom was equally impressive, with a standalone bathtub and a large rainfall shower. Amenities were excellent: hairdryer, plenty of plug sockets, TV, Wi-Fi, fridge, iron and ironing board, fresh towels, dressing gowns, tea and coffee facilities, optional laundry service — everything you could possibly need. Bottled water was replenished daily with housekeeping, which was done every single day. You’re also given beach towel cards, allowing you to exchange towels whenever you like by the pool — a great system. Just make sure to return the card (or towel) at checkout to avoid a charge. The hotel facilities are fantastic, with plenty of comfortable sunbeds, a well-equipped gym, a spa (we enjoyed a wonderful couples massage), and a pool bar serving drinks and food throughout the day. The food deserves special mention. The main buffet offers a great variety of hot, cold, and freshly cooked options. Then there’s the beachside à la carte restaurant, The Bounty, which truly deserves its own review. Breakfast here is incredible — you’re seated and served a huge selection brought directly to your table. Lunches were delicious, and evening meals were simply magical, with fire heaters, the sound of waves crashing, and a fresh sea breeze. Every meal was outstanding, and we ate here many times. The biggest highlight of The Bounty is the staff — absolute stars. Always friendly, welcoming, and happy to see us. A special shout-out to Sten, Jerry, Claudia, Lurdes, Elton, and Yuran, though honestly every single member of the team was brilliant. If you couldn’t already tell, we highly recommend staying here. An unforgettable experience from start to finish — you won’t be disappointed!

We had some great days in room #1050, fantastic suite (very comfortable bed) with a beautiful garden, directly to the beach front side. Beautifully maintained grounds, lovely pool and a magnificent green palm garden. Nice beachside/Restaurant and in walking distance to Santa Maria town. Strong WiFi even at the beach. A very pleasant atmosphere and consistently friendly staff. Special thanks to Adelio and his excellent team.

I loved this hotel. I had read other reviews with comments about the bad evening buffet and damaged doors so I was a little worried as my partner, well she has very high standards when it comes to a hotel room. The Good The rooms are great, even my better half approved. Yes there are peeling laminats on the outside of the doors, but it took me 5 days to notice. The rooms are great, the bathrooms are also great. The staff! OMG the staff are SO NICE, everyone is friendly and helpful, this is definitely the 5 star side of this hotel. My grandson (16 months old) was hungry while we were waiting for a bus and the reception checked if there were any pancakes left after breakfast (there were none) but they brought some bread and butter for him. After a few days the staff remember what you have ordered previously and they are there 100% it's a very personal service. There is no TIPPING, you just pay your bill, so much easier. I see a lot of travelers who have stomach problems, with advice to avoid sallads, ice in drinks and stuff like that. Essential Services First of all the hotel provides several 2 liter bottles of water daily, if you wany more ring reception and they will deliver immediately. It's all free. The hotel even provides anti-mosquito wipes"! Mosquitoes are a problem (close your door to the bathroom, I think they come through the ventilation) but the hotel provides some protection - kudos. Their breakfast buffet is amazing, I know some hotels that have better, but not many. The prices in the hotel are not very different from what you can buy in a supermarket locally, if you are buying wine and beer. The difference was there, but I am not sure I would bother going to the market rather that buying in the hotel. I am used to 5 star hotels gouging residents. It does not feel like this hotel does that. The beach is amazing (for adults) the hotel has lots of free beach recliners you can use and the water is so warm, but the waves are big, don't take your kids there. The Bad There are complaints about the evening buffe in that there is not very much variation. It is somewhat true, but they do amazing pizzas! They also do nice pasta, but it would be nice if I could just order a "carbonara" without having to explain every ingredient that goes into it. If you want a custom Carbonara this is your place.

Decent hotel considering the location. Probably wouldn't be liked by people looking for all-inclusive luxury but the location is excellent on the beach only a few minutes' walk from Santa Maria town. Service is patchy but clearly due to a lack of training / understanding of what Westerners will expect in a hotel like this, rather than anything else. The facilities were adequate, although allowing people to reserve sun loungers with towels and then not use them all day was annoying. It would be good if the gym opened before 9am so it is possible to do a workout before breakfast.
