A lovely stay at Hilton Sal Cabo Verde and would certainly return again. Great location and friendly staff. Extremely clean and good choice of food. Rooms are a great size with comfy beds. Loved the bathroom! My only suggestion would be to have some (or more) entertainment in the evening as the bar has great cocktails but just no vibe in there. Thanks again for a great stay and will hopefully see you in 2026!

Once you get past the glory of Christopher Columbus...remembering that Cape Verde is colonized by the Portuguese...this is a very lovely hotel with beautiful scenic views everywhere! English speaking is limited ( nothing a translation app can't fix) but the people are wonderful as well as the food. The only disappointment I had was how WE as westerners treat the locals. While tipping the live singers and dancers for their amazing performance....the gratefulness shown indicates to me that no one from the west bothers to improve the financial stability of the locals. So when you travel to Sal...please give the same decency and grace to ALL work staff as you would expect on our own soil! Lovely stay and lovely place! I look forward to returning next year.

We stayed here for 11 nights and it was amazing! We got a free upgrade without asking and because you can’t drink the tap water, even for brushing your teeth as it will make you very ill, the hotel provides 3 litres of bottled water every day for free. The location is perfect, just a 10 minute walk on the front to the town centre of Santa Marie. The only gripe I had was that the pool side bar cocktails went up by 100% after 4 days in, making them 4 x more expensive than in the town, but this is the Hilton so you have to expect this really. Breakfast buffet was brilliant, lots of choice including bacon, pancakes, fresh fruit, fried eggs and an amazing choice of different breads. The pool area is so lush and quiet and there was always plenty of sun beds to choose from, no need to get up at the crack of dawn! Free beach towels and luxury toiletries in your bathroom helped make this holiday one that we really enjoyed.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton Hotel in Sal for 8 nights during a successful week of OSW 2025 sessions, and I must commend the entire team for a truly exceptional experience. From check-in to departure, the service was consistently warm, professional, and attentive. The hotel offered a perfect balance of comfort and convenience, making it an ideal base for both business and relaxation. The rooms were well-appointed, clean, and thoughtfully maintained throughout my stay. I especially appreciated the serene atmosphere, reliable Wi-Fi, and excellent housekeeping service. The facilities were top-notch — from the modern conference amenities that supported our sessions seamlessly, to the quality of food and hospitality at the dining areas. Breakfast was a highlight each day, with a diverse and well-prepared selection. Special thanks to the staff for their helpfulness and friendliness; their support contributed significantly to the success of our business meetings and the overall positive experience. I highly recommend Hilton Sal to any traveler seeking a professional, comfortable, and well-serviced stay in Cabo Verde.

No work, no stress, Cabo Verde! This phrase can be seen all over the Sal island. Unfortunately, this saying also fits to our staying at Hilton Cabo Verde Resort during last two weeks. First impression was pretty good, but to be honest, our arrival was nearly at midnight and the unbelievably slow checkin process (20min per customer) was only tolerable since we waited our rooms and beds impatiently. Just to clarify, this hotel is listed as 5 star facility. 5 Stars is defined as an international standard…. or not? Let’s go to the visible things (see also attached pictures) : All room doors are destroyed and warped by sea humidity, no mugs nor drinking glasses in the room, the shower squirted and splattered to all directions, the shower head was covered in mold, the toiletpaper dispenser was not fixed to the wall, door stopper was a joke being bent out of shape, bathroom sink was impossible to use in normal manner, the water pressure was minimal and faucet placed too close to the wall and did not align with the sink, soap dispenser was not filled automatically by cleaners but had go and request a refill. These are all standard things that should work even in a non rated hotel. But there were also non-visible things.. Calling reception desk … no answer. After third trial and a quick walk to the desk, there where 5 (five!!!) receptionists discussing whatever, but not taking care to their duties! As a guest in such a hotel you expect your room to be made, let‘s say until 3PM. (Honestly for € 270 a day, I expect latest by noon!). On good days it was cleaned and replenished by 4 PM. Not to mention that exchange of towels often happend later in the day as a separate delivery (good for guests privacy!). The so praised Cize Bar was ok, except of the service approach of the bartenders and the waiters. The wait of 20 minutes for a beer is inacceptable. Summarized and not to forget the positive things… The beach in front of the hotel is a dream. Breakfast buffet is as expected, very good. But the hotel in general is far from being a 5 star facility as advertized, maximum 3 stars and therefore far to expensive!
