Wow! Just coming home from an absolutely incredible stay at Melia Llana and already dreaming of returning! From the moment we arrived, the amazing staff made us feel like royalty - their warmth and attentiveness shone through in every interaction. The buffet restaurant was simply superb, and in many ways better than the a la carte restaurants (definitely the Indian Sahel - the head chef needs to go to India to learn how to spice it up a bit!!l . The phenomenal location, with four other stunning five-star resorts nearby, truly makes this a prime spot. Trust me, going VIP is an absolute must - having access to all the restaurants elevated our experience to another level! The resort itself is beautiful, a true oasis of tranquillity and style. We have to give a special shout out to the wonderful team who made our days extra special: Danisio, Caterina, Juvan, and the master of cocktails himself, Luis, down at the Llana Level bar - his creations were divine! But the biggest shout out of all goes to Wagner, the head of VIP. He was awesome from the moment we booked, offering incredible support and ensuring everything was perfect even before we arrived. During our stay, he continued to be a star, checking in on us every day to make sure we had everything we needed. His dedication truly made our trip unforgettable. Finally, if you love Italian food, Signori Sassi is an absolute must-try! Without a doubt, it's the best Italian on the whole estate. This was a truly five-star experience from start to finish. We can't recommend Melia Llana highly enough and are already planning our return! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We stayed for a week. All depends on your expectations and previous experiences. If you expect 5* it is far from, but the room was clean, location is good, beach is great, service lacks attentiveness and genuine care. Food average, but edible and drinks made from local alcohol and everything is extremely sweet and artificial. Some of entertainment was good, but on the whole very repetitive. If you've seen it once, you've seen the lot. Live music on some nights which we enjoyed. Swim up rooms are overlooked from rooms above therefore not private. Lots smokers around and hotel should have designated areas for smoking and should not allow to smoke on balconies or around the pool as it can get really annoying. Hotel also has some signs of tired looking with low water pressure and often water being luke warm when a lot of people are getting ready for dinner. We would still consider returning, we would compromise on above for adults only, but if you are unlucky you will get some nuisance from other guests (loud music/smoking).

I had a very enjoyable time at the Melia Llana hotel from 11 to 20 June. I must say that it was a very successful stay. The room was spacious and cosy, cleaned every day, which is not the standard in recent times and is explained by environmental protection. The crew was extremely friendly and always ready to help. The only one thing I could complain about was the amount of towels available. Furthermore, I noticed the lack of a person supervising the pool area. On the first few days there was no need to occupy the sunbeds early, but then a new turn of guests arrived and started to lay down their towels, and the sunbed owners appeared around midday. The presence of a pool area supervisor could also have helped to ensure safety and avoid jumping into the pool. Despite these minor inconveniences, I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone to stay at this location and hotel.

The hotel is not far from the local town of Santa Maria, a 5 euro taxi each way. It's a fair walk in the heat! We found the buffet food adequate with plenty of choice for most tastes, including vegetarian. It was good to see a selection of vegetables including Brussel sprouts and cauliflower. The rooms are kept clean and ours was spacious with a bath and separate shower. Just a few things are looking tired and require refurbishment. Nearly all of our minor issues were sorted almost immediately, but with more diligence in the first place would not have been there. The fridge shelf was noticeably water damaged and removed the next day after I reported it. There were some small cockroaches about after the shelf was removed, possibly due to the disturbance. This was reported and sprayed and no further sightings. We take our own tea bags and coffee which is always advisable. There's powdered milk sachets in the room so it's best to ask for cartons to put in the fridge. We had to ask for extra water because 2 bottles every 2 days was not enough for us. I suppose we could have filled them up at the bar in hindsight. I found some confusing and conflicting information regarding the beach. In the Melia Llana details it states private beach which is echoed in the TUI app for our booking. The beach by Law is public and even though TUI say that an area is reserved for Llana guests it is not policed so to speak. Therefore local children sometimes can be found sharing the area. You will also be sharing the reserved area with non adult only guests from neighbouring hotels with their families so can become quite noisy. The sheltered sea area on the beach is a huge bonus because the sea outside this section can be very rough. Having been to Cape Verde 4 times I especially welcomed this through experience. All in all a good holiday with cheerful and friendly staff and TUI rep attentive. Only negative was the beach misrepresentation. The parasols and sun loungers are tired and uncomfortable across your back. We could not take lounger cushions from around the pools even though there were plenty. We could only have scatter cushions. Hopefully this'll be sorted after my complaint.

The hotel is great, food rooms and location are all perfect. Beach is fantastic. Just one downside for us as a couple, the pool areas are far too small for the size of the hotel and number of guests….hence they are too busy for our liking, so we spent most days on the beach….which is fine if you want beach everyday…..but a nice spacious and tranquil pool area would suit us better….but that’s not happening here!
