Stayed here with our family, 14 in total, for 2 weeks in February 2026. Great hotel with good choice of restaurants some of which needed to be booked but no problem except 1 restaurant (see below). Staff are generally friendly and room staff very good keeping the room clean and fresh at all times. Hotel pools are cold but there was always plenty of loungers available. Poolside bar at main pool was very convenient; also snacks all day at main pool. Main Spices restaurant can be busy but there was always enough room to sit. Staff very efficient at clearing tables. Only problem we had was with Secret Garden restaurant which I have covered in a seperate review - in summary food was very poor and not BBQ as advertised. Beach restaurant and bar is definitely my favourite, great atmosphere and really friendly staff; I would have my lunch here every day.

Just came back from a 10 night stay Hotel was nice a little tired in certain areas. I do feel for an all inclusive hotel and not much to do of an evening the entertainment needs to be upgraded. Pools and beaches were excellent Pool bar staff were excellent a few names I would like to mention Leticia excellent very pleasant at her job Nerlene excellent too Ricardo worked the bar on a evening again excellent Ericsson excellent Edition Jacira All staff were good but these few were outstanding a credit to your hotel. Food in main restaurant was good needed to be a bit warmer but apart from that always plenty of choice. The ACabana bar on the beach lunches were excellent and a couple of evenings we booked there were very good to. Didn't think much to the Italian restaurant, the others we did not try. Overall we had a lovely stay Thankyou

Great, but it has its limitations. The hotel is from 2011, so you can expect some dated rooms, compared to the sister hotels (Llana or Dunas). However, the garden is marvelous and the trip in the gardens makes up for it. In terms of service, everything was ok. Not great, not terrible. When we arrived, they rushed to get the room ready for us, instead of finishing cleaning, so towels and some bedsheets were dirty. It got fixed afterwards, but still quite a bad impression. After this, cleaning was done alright daily. In terms of food, we had AI, so there was plenty of it. Quite repetitive, despite the hotel promoting different cuisines every day. Also, if you’re a vegetarian, options are very limited. On the other side, there are 4x a la carte restaurants included in the AI concept: - La Cabana -> On the brach, lovely for a romantic dinner from a location point-of-view and with absolutely fantastic food. However, service there is TERRIBLE! - Pasta Nostra -> Italian based, great service, decent food - Secret Garden -> Grill-based restaurant, interesting and with ok service. - Aqua Nikkey -> Haven’t tried it There are plenty of bars as well around the resort, so you can pretty much always pick-up a drink. Drinks are decent, but not mind-blowing. If you want some well-known brands, you’ll have to get the premium bracelet. There were show animations every day and activities throughout the day, so there is always some activity. Last, but not least, quite a few cats around the resort to keep you company and cheered up.

Decent hotel - you have a room with some cleaning, nice pool and garden, some things you can eat all inclusive, and some helpful staff....But all of these limited. Only 3 stars for now, will need to level up their standards to be a 5 star hotel. It was expectable for the money paid, so I only recommend it to people who want to spare some money and make a cheap stay in Cape Verde.

I really enjoyed my stay here at Tortuga. We stayed in the villa which was pretty clean, although the pool wasn’t always maintained. Luckily we didn’t really use the pool as we didn’t have the time, but one the odd occasion when we did want to it was unkempt. The welcoming in the villa was lovely though with drinks and snacks for when we arrived. The cleaners always kept us stocked up with plenty of towels and water everyday however, there were a lot of ant situations going on in the room. Despite us making an effort to keep it clean and have food out the way, the large amounts of ants that would be there at times were a problem. I have no idea where they came from to be honest, but we’re not very squeamish and got rid of them ourselves using spray. The remnants ended up being cleaned away by the cleaners when they could be. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space in that villa, we did really enjoy staying there- it wasn’t far from the restaurant and we still had close access to the all inclusive buffet, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The food was super yummy and there was a great variety of it too. For myself who didn’t eat any of the meat, I still had so much fish and vegetarian options which I enjoyed. The staff were good and really attentive in the restaurant also. There is a private beach which is nice to have if we didn’t feel like going into Santa Maria. The private beach does go a long way it’s quite big with plenty of seating areas. Santa Maria (the centre) is about a 45 minute walk I would say, but they do have a shuttle that takes you there and back at set times. I would say we’re in a good location- although it isn’t completely central, it’s a nice quiet location where the resort is. The gym isn’t great at tortuga, very limited equipment compared to their other branches. We paid VIP for a day where we upgraded our stay to get access to their neighbour resorts (there’s like three others). From doing this I did find there are nicer lounging areas and gyms, but all in all we had everything we needed in tortuga itself. We tried the spa facilities at tortuga- we were able to enjoy the jaccuzzi and sauna- this is charged at an additional cost (but included in VIP upgrade). We weren’t able to find a massage booking time that suited us so we didn’t get to experience that. We did book some of the restaurants at tortuga which is free for all inclusive guests, but to be honest we preferred the buffet. There is a Japanese restaurant at one of their neighbour branches which we tried. This was a nice experience to try some different food but is also at an additional cost. We did order room service once and it was lovely the food but it took over an hour for the food to come. We didn’t utilise the bars much as we mostly just drank water, but there are plenty of bars spotted about for drinks. The resort itself is clean, tidy and quite pretty.
