This was my second time at Breezes. I visited the location when it opened and it was wonderful back then but time hasn't been kind to the rooms that now look worn. My room had a musty smell and there was a missing shower attachment. I was there for a wedding but I had to book independently because the wedding plans were handled poorly by someone at Breezes. Other than that, I enjoyed the staff and the food was ok. I enjoyed the staff. Kitchen staff who handled food were amazing. Beach group who handled drinks and food were friendly and helpful. The staff is keeping this place afloat.

Definitely read this full review if you want an honest opinion...... We were extremely excited to experience this resort as it was our first Sandals experience. From everything we've heard about Sandals we were hopeful for great stay. Upon first arriving we were treated with good service and hospitality. Once we finally got our room though is when it went downhill. Our first room we were given had a strong smell of mildew and our window was completely fogged over. The room was also damp and everything had a wet feeling to it. Since we got in later in the day we decided to sleep in the first until the next day (big mistake). The bed was the one of the worst mattresses and the pillows had no support. The next day we went to the front desk requesting a new room and was told by 2 different people that it was impossible based off of the current occupancy. They said that's our room for the week. The next day we talked to another person who finally got us a different room no questions asked. The second room was better but still had a slight odor and was still damp just like the first one. Food was mediocre at best. The best meal of the day was breakfast. Lunch was nothing special and dinner left us hungry every night. And it's basically impossible to eat at Buch's or Kimonos as the butler serviced guests seem to get priority for reservations. We ate out at Baha Mar 3 times because the dinners were so bad. Highly recommend Cleo's if you go. Drinks were fine but very inconsistent and the bar staff were hit or miss. Some were super friendly others were not. The outdoor spaces overall were nice and very well kept. Pools were always clean. Beach at the resort was nonexistent and seats were limited. If it one thing that was amazing it was the private island. It was quiet, calm and the perfect spot to spend your time. Definitely think twice before booking because we will never stay at a Sandals again. THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL......

We had a swim up pool and the pool heater was broken so it was unusable because it was freezing. The beds are very hard and the AC was noisy. We had an open bottle of water and an empty beer behind the pillow on couch. So for a company like sandals to be so expensive I would expect more. The butlers we had were wonderful as well as all the dining was excellent. If you want a tour do it outside because we booked a tour and it was canceled but other companies were doing them. The butlers again made our trip and sandals is lucky to have Aaron and Shanell. We thought we should have got a credit back for swim up rooms because it was a costly expense we couldn’t use. If a heater for those pools are broken than fix them. I also asked for AC unit in room to be fixed and I opened it and the filter was very very dirty? Made them change it! If you like a hard bed which we don’t you will love the bed! If you like a soft or medium bed then you will be sore.

Thoroughly underwhelming stay at what is our 3rd Sandals resort! Positives: The gym is great; the breakfast ideal as is the norm at Sandals and the bookable restaurants in particular of high quality (Butch's was great). The pools were nice (one loud/one quiet) and the evening entertainment was very enjoyable - Broadway show, live bands etc supported by the entertainment crew who were very enthusiastic! The day-to-day staff were always exceptionally warm, friendly and helpful - despite seemingly being constantly on-shift (that part not being a positive). Negatives: Our West Bay room smelled damp/musty so we were surprised to read that the resort had been upgraded as recently as 2022 (we heard another couple mention the same smell in their room too). The low-light of the trip was when we got trapped in the elevator - a lift that had been put back in service from a couple of days out of service already. With the cart stuck halfway in-between floors, a maintenance team member attended quickly (kudos) but then forcing the doors open (and having to fight to hold them there as the doors kept trying to close on us) whilst we had to vault out in what was a very unsafe situation (lucky we are young/fit enough to do so quickly but that is not the point). There is clearly a distinct lack of management processes to account for such customer incidents as there was no follow-up even after we later decided to mention it to concierge (who informed somebody on the phone at the time) and despite us supposedly being a "Tender Loving Care" room (our rep had no knowledge of the incident a few nights later when they made first contact on night 7 of 9). We're generally pretty low-profile / low maintenance so don't encourage much attention but this feels like an incident that would be addressed at a high-end resort that values it's guests, especially when we were celebrating our engagement! Unsurprisingly we got our steps in using the stairs up and down to the 4th floor for the 6 or so days after that! Other "first world problems" included >1hr wait in a queue for lunch on the island (which itself was otherwise a delightful retreat); towels being taken out of the bathroom and not replaced multiple times; a lack of hot water on a couple of days and; the strange smell on the Pier (which I don't believe was due to the heavy Sargassum/seaweed which plagued what would otherwise have been a very nice, if small, Sandals exclusive part of the beach). Also a 1hr 45min wait for a Pizza by the pool when a staff member insisted that he get them for us (for some bizarre reason if the staff place an order on behalf of guests, their order goes to the back of the queue every time a new guest orders, so we'd have been better off ordering ourselves if we'd known this - we nearly did anyway but didn't want to double order 🤷🏻‍♂️). Overall, a disappointing experience given what we've previously experienced at other Sandals resorts, but with some positives at least from time spent in the sun by the pool 🌞

From the airport Sandals room to check in and orientation at the resort the staff were very friendly and helpful. All employees greeted us every time we interacted and were wonderful. Poolside chairs were very comfortable. Pools were very clean and nice to swim in. Lots of bars to get a drink and lots of choices for food. Beach is beautiful and the private island beaches were the best I’ve been in. The downside of this resort was the older air conditioning system in the room. Very loud and strong cold blowing while trying to sleep. We had a balcony with sliding doors and if a screen was installed we could have opened the doors at night for moist ocean air instead of dry air conditioning. We were disappointed at the water being in 500 ml bottles. Big waist of plastic. I would give each person a metal Sandals water bottle upon check in and have large water containers around the resort to refill. We drink a lot of water and felt bad about the waste. The romantic dinner on the beach at 200 dollars was nice but the same meal is available in Butchs for no charge. The music directly beside the beach drowned out our conversation. The base vibration was annoying. We had our picture taken and this should be included in the cost of the dinner. We would not have this dinner or recommend any one else to have the romantic dinner again. We love music and love to dance but there’s no dance floor. We tried dancing in the sand but it wasn’t comfortable at all. I suggest you find another area to have the entertainment so couples can dance. The shuttle to the island should be more frequent. If you’re 42nd in line you have to wait 1-1.5 hours for the next shuttle. Try 30 minutes for the first 3. The island is beautiful but we just don’t like wasting our time in a line. The inclusion of snorkeling trips, sailing, tennis, pickleball, shuffleboard and wine tasting were a great touch and much appreciated. Top restaurants for us were Butch’s and Kimonos. Food was hot and delicious and service was excellent. The others were average at best. Breakfast and lunch buffets had a great selection but freezing cold plates. Nothing worse than getting eggs cooked the way you want and putting them on a cold plate. Find a system that keeps plates warm. A few small changes and this would have been a five star resort. We enjoyed our stay and I can’t say enough about the staff. They are excellent
