Thoroughly underwhelming stay at what is our 3rd Sandals resort! Positives: The gym is great; the breakfast ideal as is the norm at Sandals and the bookable restaurants in particular of high quality (Butch's was great). The pools were nice (one loud/one quiet) and the evening entertainment was very enjoyable - Broadway show, live bands etc supported by the entertainment crew who were very enthusiastic! The day-to-day staff were always exceptionally warm, friendly and helpful - despite seemingly being constantly on-shift (that part not being a positive). Negatives: Our West Bay room smelled damp/musty so we were surprised to read that the resort had been upgraded as recently as 2022 (we heard another couple mention the same smell in their room too). The low-light of the trip was when we got trapped in the elevator - a lift that had been put back in service from a couple of days out of service already. With the cart stuck halfway in-between floors, a maintenance team member attended quickly (kudos) but then forcing the doors open (and having to fight to hold them there as the doors kept trying to close on us) whilst we had to vault out in what was a very unsafe situation (lucky we are young/fit enough to do so quickly but that is not the point). There is clearly a distinct lack of management processes to account for such customer incidents as there was no follow-up even after we later decided to mention it to concierge (who informed somebody on the phone at the time) and despite us supposedly being a "Tender Loving Care" room (our rep had no knowledge of the incident a few nights later when they made first contact on night 7 of 9). We're generally pretty low-profile / low maintenance so don't encourage much attention but this feels like an incident that would be addressed at a high-end resort that values it's guests, especially when we were celebrating our engagement! Unsurprisingly we got our steps in using the stairs up and down to the 4th floor for the 6 or so days after that! Other "first world problems" included >1hr wait in a queue for lunch on the island (which itself was otherwise a delightful retreat); towels being taken out of the bathroom and not replaced multiple times; a lack of hot water on a couple of days and; the strange smell on the Pier (which I don't believe was due to the heavy Sargassum/seaweed which plagued what would otherwise have been a very nice, if small, Sandals exclusive part of the beach). Also a 1hr 45min wait for a Pizza by the pool when a staff member insisted that he get them for us (for some bizarre reason if the staff place an order on behalf of guests, their order goes to the back of the queue every time a new guest orders, so we'd have been better off ordering ourselves if we'd known this - we nearly did anyway but didn't want to double order 🤷🏻‍♂️). Overall, a disappointing experience given what we've previously experienced at other Sandals resorts, but with some positives at least from time spent in the sun by the pool 🌞

This trip was wonderful! From the trip from the airport in the Rolls to the resort everything was phenomenal! Derron and CeCe were our butlers and their service was top notch! Derron made my birthday extra special and CeCe made sure I had all the dirty martini fixings in my room! Thank you for the best time! We really enjoyed all the water choices. The quiet pool was relaxing and a great day spot to lounge and read. The fun pool had great activities led by Leah and her crew. We enjoyed the private island that had plenty of loungers and made for a great afternoon in the sun. Overall the food was good, our favorite was Soy but we love to have Sushi daily if we can. Butchs was great with amazing service. The travel and loyalty lounge is a must visit for us and we had great service with Chereese. I enjoyed a facial at the spa and Shakira made the experience wonderful recommending a very helpful product! We’ve been to 6 different properties and feel like Royal Bahamian had some of the best room service in terms of timeliness and freshness. Our room was always cleaned well with plenty of towels and Red Lane Spa amenities.

My fiancé and I stayed at sandals for a week and had the best time! There were 2 different options for the pool (1 loud and 1 quiet) and the beach was a step away from the pool. Kevin and Tevin at the pool made our experience so fun-everyone in Nassau are all around polite and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the Sushi and Hibachi restaurants. If you’re looking to book a relaxing and memorable vacation, Sandals is your spot. We’ll be back!

Me and my girlfriend, Tiffany, spent 7 days at the Sandals resort. And to say the least, it was such a delight and wonderful experience. Will highly be recommending this resort to others. The staff were amazing and really polite and tentative. One individual stood out compared to the rest in personal opinion and he’s was very sweet and extremely nice and an overall outstanding person. His name is Shavon. He works in the photo shop. And definitely made us feel welcomed on the island. Really appreciated the neighboring island and getting a chance to hangout and relax. The only part that was a bit of a drawback was that our room had a moisture problem. And we also noticed our bathroom sink was leaking quite a bit. We called the front desk to report the problem and the lady stated that somebody would come out but nobody ever came. One of the drawers in the restroom had a real bad musty smell. That was the only downfall of our stay. Everything else was a delight and wonderful. We would definitely come back.

Sandals Royal Bahamian has beautiful, well-kept grounds, but it falls short of feeling like a true luxury, adults-only resort. The biggest issues are cleanliness, dated outdoor furniture, visible wear, and service, which—if addressed—could significantly elevate the property. The most noticeable problem is the hallway carpeting, which does not belong in a Caribbean resort. The carpets were visibly dirty and had a persistent odor, creating an immediate impression of poor cleanliness. Removing carpet entirely would make a dramatic difference. The resort also lacks sufficient public restrooms, and the existing ones were often not as clean as expected, particularly around the pool and beach areas. The outdoor furniture needs a refresh across the property. Many beach chairs were dirty or broken, and other outdoor seating appeared worn and dated. A fresh coat of paint throughout the resort would also go a long way in addressing visible wear and improving the overall appearance. Service consistency remains an issue. There are no dedicated pool or beach servers, and at most restaurants, servers rarely asked for drink orders, with Butch’s Steakhouse and La Plume being the only consistent exceptions. While there were moments of excellent service, the lack of consistent attentiveness prevents the experience from feeling elevated. Food was generally good, with standout dining at La Plume, which was by far the best restaurant for both food and service. Gordon’s was also very good, while Butch’s Steakhouse offered excellent service but food that was average to below average. Entertainment was on par with expectations for this type of resort. The grounds themselves are beautifully maintained, showing that the resort has real potential. However, improved cleanliness standards, updated outdoor furniture, a fresh coat of paint, more and cleaner public restrooms, and more consistent service would be necessary for Sandals Royal Bahamian to truly feel like the luxury property it is marketed as.
