I recently stayed at the Pelekas Monastery hotel, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Here are my observations:
Aging Infrastructure: The hotel appears quite rusty and old. Many fixtures and furnishings showed signs of wear and tear. It’s disappointing to see a 5-star property in this condition.
Maintenance Issues: There were plenty of broken things throughout the premises. From poor A/C rust in toilets. Bed was not queen size it is only two single beds combined together so couple cannot sleep together basically one mattress higher than other. Broken sun-beds on the beach poor quality coffee...
Limited Positives: The only redeeming aspects were the restaurant and some of the pleasant staff members. The restaurant offered decent food, but that alone couldn’t compensate for the overall shortcomings.
In summary, I wouldn’t recommend the Pelekas Monastery hotel unless significant improvements are made. For a 5-star rating, guests rightfully expect a higher standard. Unfortunately, this establishment falls short.

The beach is beautiful! Restaurant Bella Vista, Edge and George’s taverna were amazing! Best seafood around!
We were disappointed with the hotel. We received the only room with a cement wall blocking the view of the ocean. Our AC didn’t work the first night which lead to about 30 mosquito bites. The shower head didn’t work right and lead to flooding in the bathroom floor. We ate breakfast at the hotel which was fine. We talked to the receptionist multiple times but they were of little help. I feel like the lady who checked us in had something against Americans and put us in the worst room from the beginning. Disappointed because we came a long way from New York!
This is the view of our panoramic sea view…

Really nice hotel of unusual design in a truly beautiful location. Service and food excellent throughout in excellent surroundings. Good spacious terraces and lovely beach. But do take heed that the complex contains many steps from the top level reception area, though the numerous accommodation levels, the pool area and finally down to the beach. Use of the modern funicular style lift is a very good alternative. Also, the hotel is situated down a very long and steep road that most guests would not be able to navigate on foot, and therefore the hotel courtesy bus service is essential to get to the village of Pelakas and beyond via local bus services. Would recommend.

Such a great location. Have to admit that arriving is not easy as the road is very steep however the Hotel itself is very good. The food is very good the view from the Tortuga Restaurant is amazing and the beach one of the best in Corfu for my personal taste.
Efkaristo and hopefully see you soon.
