The beach is beautiful! Restaurant Bella Vista, Edge and George’s taverna were amazing! Best seafood around! We were disappointed with the hotel. We received the only room with a cement wall blocking the view of the ocean. Our AC didn’t work the first night which lead to about 30 mosquito bites. The shower head didn’t work right and lead to flooding in the bathroom floor. We ate breakfast at the hotel which was fine. We talked to the receptionist multiple times but they were of little help. I feel like the lady who checked us in had something against Americans and put us in the worst room from the beginning. Disappointed because we came a long way from New York! This is the view of our panoramic sea view…

Amazing location, beautiful views. Hotel staff extremely helpful and do their best to keep guests happy. Rooms and hotel overall in need of an upgrade, gym equipment outdated, half of them not working properly. We had issues of ants in our beds, housekeeping had to come multiple times to sort it out for us. Our complaint about this, I feel was completely ignored, which leaves me with a bitter feeling about the whole experience. In my view this hotel is not of 5* standard, so perhaps a bit overpriced for what it actually offers to tourists.

I wouldn’t be surprised to read one of the standard responses from the hotel just like they did in other reviews. Many problems reported by other guests on TripAdvisor, which the hotel claimed to be fixing, remained unresolved (like the drain cover). We booked Pelekas Monastery because it is advertised as a 5-star hotel, but based on my experience, it fits more into the 3/4-star category. Upon arrival with my wife and son after a long trip around 15:30, we had to queue at reception because there was only one person checking in guests. The reception should be smooth enough for guests to feel confident in the quality of services. Room 6105: While the hotel’s views and facilities like the swimming pool and private beach were impressive, the room condition was disappointing. The TV was outdated and tiny, almost the size of my son’s iPad mini. Although people don’t typically come to a resort to watch TV, a 5-star hotel should ensure a minimum standard in such amenities. The safe was exactly as the picture attached and was difficult to use due to unreadable instructions, and I had to ask for assistance. The bathroom was poorly maintained, with a stained mirror, a leaking toilet, and a loose drain cover that almost injured my son’s foot. After the shower, the drain always overflowed without using the bathtub. The bathroom was always flooded, and we had to use our bath towels to dry off the floor. Although reported, the temporary fix for the drain cover with silicone glue did not last more than a few days. Additionally, the room service consistently forgot to leave three towels despite knowing we were three guests and never swept the floor, leaving beach sand on the floor daily. On our last day, no bottle of water was left and again, only two towels instead of three. Breakfast and dinner were another issue, with long queues as guests preferred to eat inside to avoid the wasps outside. The hotel could improve this by better organizing dining time slots to prevent guests from waiting in the hot sun. During a fire show on August 2nd, the pool bar was overcrowded, with staff prioritizing certain "special" guests despite our all-inclusive package. While I understand there were more people than expected, there seemed to be no contingency plan. One of the managers was walking around laughing and chatting as if everything was under control, while it was clear the barmen were under a lot of pressure and guests had to endure delays for their drinks. On top of that, the All-inclusive package, misleadingly named, did not cover non-alcoholic beer or bottled water, which had to be paid for separately. It only included drinks that could be served from the tap. Sunbeds at the beach and pool were often unavailable due to guests reserving them with towels despite advisories against it. We had to wait for staff to remove the towels, but tired of waiting, I tried to set up a beach umbrella myself. This resulted in injuring my hand, and despite a lifeguard being present, she did nothing to assist. I had to go to reception, which was again packed with only two staff members, and eventually received first aid from someone at the bar near the reception. This trip, which included a journey from Albania to Corfu and a hospital visit for my wife, left us expecting a higher level of service from a 5-star hotel, but we were met with numerous issues. In summary, while most of the staff were friendly and the kids club was a lifesaver, the overall experience did not meet 5-star expectations. Maybe for those looking for a nice private beach and who don’t mind queuing or paying more for a lower room standard, this place is a good choice. I will not forget the amazing calm and warm beach and the excellent food we experienced in the resort; this is truly an unforgettable part of our trip to Corfu.

Really nice hotel of unusual design in a truly beautiful location. Service and food excellent throughout in excellent surroundings. Good spacious terraces and lovely beach. But do take heed that the complex contains many steps from the top level reception area, though the numerous accommodation levels, the pool area and finally down to the beach. Use of the modern funicular style lift is a very good alternative. Also, the hotel is situated down a very long and steep road that most guests would not be able to navigate on foot, and therefore the hotel courtesy bus service is essential to get to the village of Pelakas and beyond via local bus services. Would recommend.

Such a great location. Have to admit that arriving is not easy as the road is very steep however the Hotel itself is very good. The food is very good the view from the Tortuga Restaurant is amazing and the beach one of the best in Corfu for my personal taste. Efkaristo and hopefully see you soon.
