Purpose of the Role:

Working alongside the other Sales Managers within the Destination2 & HolidayGems Sales Team, you will play a hands-on, pro-active and pivotal role within the Sales Management team. Reporting directly to the Senior Sales Managers this will be a challenging, varied and fast paced role where you will be carrying out multiple tasks to support the Senior Sales Managers, other Sales Managers, the Sales Team and multiple areas of the business with a wide array of sales based management tasks.

This will include but not limited to: tasks such as Call Monitoring, Sales Coaching, providing feedback to the Sales Agents on their performance, driving increased conversions, revenue, profit and reviews for both travel brands, managing multiple channels/sources of enquiries effectively and providing clear communication to the team and fellow Managers at all times.

To be successful in this role you must be a quick learner, highly organised, a multi-tasker and be able to prioritise. You will follow direction easily and have excellent interpersonal skills to ensure the smooth running of the sales operation and to ensure the Sales Team are continually well managed, engaged and motivated. This hugely rewarding role requires you to work on a flexible shift basis over 7 days.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work with the other Sales Managers in the successful day to day operation of the sales department.
  • To complete daily live call monitoring and feedback.
  • To monitor sales patterns and levels of performance, and promptly act on any areas that require improvement.
  • To ensure all sales processes are being followed correctly by all agents across all departments and brands.
  • To ensure every opportunity to convert and/or maximise sales is taken by the agents.
  • To ensure Sales/Management tasks are handled in a timely and efficient manner and that all staff are communicated with clearly and continuously.
  • To effectively utilise the systems to manage and provide detailed data and feedback to the sales agents regarding their performance.
  • To work with the Online sales agents to ensure the accurate and efficient management of the Online bookings, whilst taking every opportunity to up-sell and increase margins and profit.
  • To ensure all avenues of enquiries are worked correctly, fully and correctly quoted, accurately priced and followed up and effectively noted for clarity.
  • Liaising with the Sales Administrator to ensure all cross departmental queries are responded to in a timely manner to ensure strong working relationships.
  • Prioritise and organise multiple tasks to successfully support the team and meet deadlines.
  • Be able to easily follow direction to support the team successfully on a day-to-day basis
  • Conducting performance reviews, setting improvement plans and managing under-performance strongly and effectively
  • Completing any other ad hoc tasks as required due to absence/holidays or as directed by Senior Management

The Person: Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience of working in a fast paced, long haul travel call centre or office environment.
  • Experience of working as part of a Management team.
  • Experience of working in Travel
  • Knowledge of both Short-Haul and Long-Haul destinations.
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer basics such as Microsoft Office and using web browsers
  • Ability to manage a diverse range of duties at one time.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to be able to build rapport with various staff members and stakeholders.
  • Excellent numerical skills.
  • A natural ‘flair’ for sales and an enjoyment of exceeding sales targets.
  • Bonus-driven and thrives on working to targets
  • Ability to work at pace and delivery driven.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

This is a full-time position where you will be required to work 39 hours per week. We operate a 7-day shift pattern with shifts working up to 9pm, therefore, flexibility is a must.

This role will be based in our Chester Office (Chestergates Business Park, Ellesmere Port).
