My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Barcelo. We loved having the adults-only resort experience while also having the access they provide to the numerous other resorts and restaurants along the beach. The pools are great! We started with a room that was ground level along the pool-river but ended up switching to one of the VIP rooms higher up with a view! I loved having a hot tub overlooking the ocean right from our balcony. Great room service and amenities. Received a very good massage in the spa.

Just got home after a wonderful week at the Maya. Beach. The resort complex is massive so be prepared to walk or take the double decker bus. That being said it offers a family everything they need, although at an extra cost in some cases. It was great being able to attend Mass at the beautiful airy church. It was said in Spanish but there was a translator for the sermon.
Our last night was at the amazing Japanese restaurant which was both entertaining and delicious.
Food at the buffet was good and we enjoyed the convenience of the beach grill for lunches.
The beach and pools are awesome and we received great poolside service from lovely Irene.
There was always something on at the theatre in the evening to keep us entertained.
Value for money it was a great week. Definitely a family resort!

We had a wonderful stay for 8 days.
The breakfast service at the outside patio done by David Xiu and his assistant was amazing!
Always attentive to our needs and greeted us with a smile. We really enjoyed our breakfast with their service.
The beach at this resort is a hidden gem!
Beautiful clear waters, shallow and mostly clear ground for you to walk in. (Other resorts have rocks and require water shoes but not this one).

Had an amazing stay for my first visit. Room and service was great. Maybe as a suggestion have more bar staff on hand as it was weird around the pools to have to stand in long lines with one bartender usually. Food was as I expected at an all inclusive but I was happy with it. The grounds were kept in great shape which says a lot as it is a lot of work to maintain such a huge area. The staff for me was a 5 star+, so accommodating and helpful as my Spanish is limited. Overall loved our stay and will be booking for next year also.

The resort is very large. This was our second time here. Despite being fully booked the staff did a great job keeping everything tidy.
Rooms were clean, a little dated but still nice. The beach was nice, clean and plenty of sun or shade depending on your preference.
The dining left much to be desired unfortunately. Possibly due to being extremely busy.
The a la carte restaurants were very good, the buffet not so much, at least not as good as 8 years prior.
Overall a great time , relaxing and enjoying the sun.
