I have had an amazing stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mexico. The first thing that stood out to me was the cleanliness. The entire resort is exceptionally well maintained, from the rooms to the restaurants, pool areas and gardens. The housekeeping team does a fantastic job and everything is spotless. The staff are truly wonderful. Everyone is friendly, welcoming and always happy to help with a smile. Their hard work and positive attitude made my holiday even more enjoyable. The food is another highlight. There is a great variety available every day, with plenty of fresh options, local dishes and international cuisine. No matter what you fancy, there is always something delicious to choose from. The hotel itself is beautiful, with lovely facilities, a relaxing atmosphere and plenty of activities for guests who want them. Whether you want to relax by the pool, enjoy the beach or stay active, there is something for everyone. Overall, I have had a fantastic experience and would definitely return. Thank you to all the staff for making my holiday so special!

The crew is incredibly polite and friendly. The hotel is great. Menu has a lot of variety, however, I would highly recommend increasing the food quality since two of our family members got really bad food poisoning. We had to be moved to another room because our bathroom kept flooding. However, the change was easy and fast due to the staff. If the food quality is increased, this could be an amazing option.

I recently stayed at the Allegro, and overall, it was a pleasant experience with some room for improvement. The Highlights • The Atmosphere: One of the best things about this hotel is that it doesn’t feel like a "factory." It has a great scale and a cozy feel. • The Staff: The people working here are incredibly nice and friendly. They genuinely contribute to the positive energy of the place. • Location: The location is excellent—you are only a 30-minute walk from the center of Playa del Carmen, which makes it easy to explore the town without needing a taxi every time. • The Rooms: The rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable. The Challenges • Water Issues: We experienced several issues with the water during our stay. After talking to other guests, it seems like this is a common problem at this property that needs to be addressed. • The Booking System: There are three themed restaurants (Oriental, Italian, and Mexican) which are actually quite good. However, you have to book the same day starting at 9:00 AM. We once spent 45 minutes waiting in line just to make a reservation, which is not how you want to spend your vacation time. • Dining Quality: The food could be better, especially the bread, pastries, and desserts, which were quite underwhelming.

I had a very pleasant stay at this Hotel. I chose it for its good price and location, and overall it exceeded my expectations! The hotel has beautiful green spaces that make it feel like a peaceful paradise. The beach was cleaned every morning, which was great. Food had enough variety, and there were also à la carte restaurants (but you need to reserve early). It was easy to access the city center with taxis available inside the hotel. There is also a small market just outside, and the area felt very safe for walking. The staff were also very warm, friendly, and helpful, which made the experience even better. On the downside, the pools and beach closed early (around 8 PM).

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my frustration and disappointment regarding my family’s recent stay at Allegro Playacar in Playa del Carmen. Our checkout experience was completely unacceptable and left us feeling misled and taken advantage of. At checkout, your staff attempted to charge us approximately 6,000 pesos for a dinner experience that was never properly provided, clearly communicated, or advertised to us in the way it was later presented. The situation felt extremely deceptive and unprofessional. In addition, we paid for airport transportation for our entire family, yet the driver never arrived. Despite the service never being provided, we were still charged 360 pesos. Charging guests for transportation that never showed up is unacceptable. Between these issues, the overall experience left us feeling scammed rather than valued as paying guests. This is not the level of hospitality or integrity that should be associated with the Barceló brand. The only genuinely positive part of this stay was the service from bartender Eder at the First Club. He was professional, attentive, and one of the very few people who made any effort to provide a good guest experience. Other than that, this trip was an absolutely ridiculous experience from start to finish. Because of how poorly this situation was handled, I will never stay at this property again, nor will I associate with the Barceló brand moving forward. I also intend to share this experience publicly so others are aware of how these situations are handled. I want this matter escalated to higher management immediately. I expect: A full review of these charges Reimbursement for services not rendered An explanation of how these situations were allowed to occur Appropriate corrective action to prevent future guests from experiencing the same treatment This experience significantly impacted what was supposed to be an enjoyable family trip, and I expect a prompt and serious response.
