Allegro Playacar

We did not have a great experience staying at Allegro Playacar and will never return when visiting Cancun in the future. The room we had was terrible. The air conditioning didn't really work, it smelled like urine, and the straw roof leaked water and dropped debris all over, which included worms/bugs that fell all over our bed, side table, and floor. We had to switch rooms the last night because there were so many little worms or some kind of larva crawling on our bed. I'd guess around 100-120 larva were crawling around in the room at some point, probably more. It took over an hour to switch rooms (around midnight) and the guy that helped us seemed very annoyed. The food was also horrible but it could have been our particular taste since others seemed to enjoy the food. To us, the food tasted fake and full of chemicals with strange after tastes. Again, I'm happy to admit it could have been our particular taste, which is fine. Some positives; the staff and service overall was great, the beach and pool were fantastic. The property was clean and nice (outside our room) but the issue(s) with the room really tainted the overall visit. We will never return and plan to visit different inclusive resorts in the future. If we had to stay again, I'd make sure to ask for a room that (at minimum) has a net or something to catch anything that falls from the straw ceiling.

Our stay at Allegro Playacar has been nothing short of spectacular!! I have been to many all inclusive resorts previously but this one has stood out. The food has been amazing and most of the staff are nothing but warm welcoming and very friendly. There have been 3 staff members that have just gone above and beyond this stay. Alejandra at the Topaz restaurant (buffet) has been so kind and always made sure we were comfortable. She made sure to confirm we had no allergies and always sat us at the best table in the restaurant (closest to the deserts) 😁. Moises and Gerardo at the pool side bar always made sure we had the best drinks. I came prepared with a drink list, as this trip was planned to the very last detail. These two have made sure to cross all the drinks off my list and also made us some surprise drinks that I am totally going to order in the future. They definitely deserve a raise for having to deal with this white girl ordering all the drinks you can think of. The front desk staff have also been super nice and very helpful. Unfortunately I didn’t catch any of their names but anyone that helped us was very kind and made this stay pleasant. Overall this resort has been great to visit! I highly recommend it. Especially if you haven’t been to many resorts before. It’s not too big, meaning everything is right there for you. As well, there isn’t tons of people. This is my boyfriend and I first time travelling to Mexico together and I think this was the perfect resort to come to. The Playacar complex makes you feel very safe with extra security to enter the complex. Then you get to the resort and they confirm all your details before just letting anyone in. I felt very safe the whole time we’ve been at the resort. I have also felt very well treated and will definitely recommend to anyone travelling in the area. The beach is beautiful and the resort is clean. There is cleaning staff out there all day making sure the common areas are clean. Even someone in the pool scrubbing the sides in the morning. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and how long the staff spends cleaning. There have been a few language blocks but the staff have been very nice about it and even taught me a couple things while I’ve been here. Thank you Allegro Playacar and all the staff. Everyone at the resort was fantastic and the grounds were beautiful. Our room had great air conditioning and Roberto and Alfonzo (Chris) were very attentive to our needs. Oscar kept the pool fun from water aerobics to bingo! We were met with smiles from all staff and the pool bar staff remembered our drink order every time. We loved that the resort was small and a quick walk to everything. The beach was a major plus, so beautiful.

The food here was definitely better than when I stayed in the one at Cozumel always had a clean room and staff where very friendly I will say that they should let people know of the dress code for dinner before they are brought to a seat. Better yet when you check in. It’s a buffet with no air conditioning. Other than that we had a wonderful time! Went on some great excursions booked through the resort. They do need to fix fouch tables. Pool table was great.

It was our second time coming back to allegro Playacar because of its great location. As before, service is great everywhere and everyone is very helpful. We are very impressed with Mr Dominguez’s assistance from concierge department. Food is great everywhere, but we particularly enjoy the Italian restaurant. Our server Issac was so awesome! The only thing we noticed that Probably soon, rooms need to be updated, so tourists keep coming to this wonderful and peaceful place!
