We stayed a week in the mango bay hotel, and for the price, we were disappointed.
Holetown, where the hotel is situated, was about half an hour away from the airport. If you travel at schools out, it will take about an hour.
When we got to the hotel, it was about 5 pm we were greeted by members of staff. We were asked if we would like a drink and the given lots of Disclaimer forms to fill out. Basically, if you injure yourself, it's your fault.
A member of staff took us to our room, we were on the 3rd floor facing the restaurant/sea.
The room looked OK as we walked in, and we were asked if it was ok. We said yes.
As the week went on, we saw lots of things that weren't right.
The TV had a scratch on it and was small for the room.
The toilet had cracks, and so did the basin. The bathroom was all tiled white, but the bath was stained yellow.
When you use the towels, you put them in the bath to get replaced when dirty, I had to ask to get more towels as they didn't replace them.
For a four star, I would expect all these to be addressed.
The hotel is all-inclusive and was confusing as some mealtimes were sit down restaurant style with a menu, and then some were buffet get your own ,you never knew which. But you had to dress to the rules, whichever. Not everybody sticks to these rules.
The loungers on the beach are for the hotel customers only, but regulars pick the best ones and put their towels on them early. The hotel has tried to stop this, but it still goes on. You also do get mithered by locals selling on the beach.
It's a shame as I was looking forward to visiting barbados.

A wonderful experience being here.
I have visited before.
Overall appearance lovely. Nicely kept garden and grounds.
Bar good, efficient and very friendly.
Resturant staff friendly and happy.
Rooms however very tired and needing a good paint and lift.
Nothing is too much trouble for this great team of people.
Sunshine and happiness 😊

Today we celebrated our sister birthday with the luncheon buffet. It was 12 of us and we had a wonderful time . The staff were very attentive friendly and efficient especially Jalise. She made our experience even more memorable. The food was tasty and quite satisfying. Special thanks to Wesu Wallace for the live music and beautiful singing. All in all it was a day well spent and I recommend Mango bay to everyone whether Bajan or visitor. Thank you all very much 🙌🙌❤️❤️

Had an absolutely fantastic 10 nights at Mango Bay leaving on 19 October 2023. The staff can not do enough for you and nothing is too much trouble. Food and rooms outstanding. Wish I had discovered this gem years ago. Thanks for making my husband's birthday special.

Mango Bay’s location is idyllic - beautiful beach, easy access to buses and a few shops/restaurants around if you want to dine out. That is also a curse because if you have one of rooms that overlooks the garden towards the streets well… you ain’t sleeping! Extremely loud music on weekends until early morning - bring ear plugs.
My initial room had no windows but shutters and mosquito nets but there were huge gaps so mosquitos were already in, plus obviously no windows means no sound insulation from the restaurant and bar. Overall the rooms are a little old and would need a bit of a refresh (and better doors to reduce noise coming from the bars outside).
Staff was always nice and amicable, and food was good. Selection wasn’t always massive but this is a small hotel, not an issue at all. Great drinks selection too.
Overall I had a pleasant stay but the price/quality ratio isn’t fair. Mango Bay is a nice hotel but not up to the 4* standard, especially not when you have blasting music in your room until 3AM on weekends…
