The first SO/ hotel that has made me fall in love with SO/ so much.
I appreciate the amount of effort they have invested in the hotel's design. The services have been exceptional since we took our first step in. As for the food, I love it so much! I highly recommend trying their breakfast - it's one of the best we've ever had in Bangkok. I'm a huge fan of coconut! And don't forget to try their international dinner at The Red Oven as well.
The view of Lumpini Park from the hotel is simply breathtaking. However, I'm not a big fan of the pool for swimming. Although it looks great in photos, it's too small, particularly since all the guests will be there in the evening. Note: they do close the pool for a private party once a month on Saturday (if I'm not mistaken). They offer you to use the pool in another building, which is not as great as this one.
We requested the wood element in our room, and they provided it. However, we would love to try something different during our next visit.

From the moment I stepped into the opulent lobby of the hotel I knew I was in for a truly exceptional experience. Every aspect of my stay at this five-star hotel exceeded my expectations, leaving me enchanted and rejuvenated.
The accommodation itself was a sanctuary of elegance and comfort. My room boasted breathtaking views of the city skyline, plush furnishings, and state-of-the-art amenities that catered to my every need. The attention to detail in the design and decor truly set this hotel apart, creating an atmosphere of unparalleled luxury.

Compared to when I first stayed in this hotel back in 2013, I think this property really needs the renovation soonest.
The rooms are looks tired and old, furnitures and design as well as the facilities like the used to be fantastic infinity pool overlooking lumphini park are showing their age.
But if I compared to my last stay 6months ago, last week stay was better.
Service wise is still great.

During my recent stay at SO Bangkok, which is acclaimed as a five-star establishment, I encountered several aspects that did not meet the high expectations typically associated with such a rating. I was particularly looking forward to experiencing the renowned service and luxurious accommodations that had been highlighted in the hotel’s descriptions.
Upon arrival, the most significant disappointment was the extended wait time for my room to be ready. After a long journey, a wait of over two hours before being able to relax in my room felt exceedingly lengthy and was quite frankly, a frustrating start to the stay.
While the staff were courteous, it appeared that the hotel’s glory days might be behind it, with both the service and the room not living up to the five-star promise. The room, although clean, did not reflect the opulence or comfort one might expect from a hotel of this purported standard.
Given these experiences, it is with regret that I must rate my stay lower than I had hoped. This decision is based on the expectations set by the hotel’s own five-star rating, rather than a direct comparison to other establishments. It’s worth noting that, despite these criticisms, SO Bangkok may still surpass many other hotels in terms of quality and service. However, when expectations are set so high, the discrepancies become more pronounced and impactful on the overall experience.

I recently stayed at So/Bangkok hotel, and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. I feel compelled to leave this review to share my concerns regarding the room's condition.
Firstly, the room was in dire need of maintenance. The curtains were dysfunctional, making it difficult to control the lighting and maintain privacy. It was frustrating to have such a basic feature not working properly. Additionally, the furniture showed signs of damage, which detracted from the overall ambiance and comfort. It is disheartening to see a lack of attention to details in a hotel of this caliber.
While the hotel may have other positive aspects such the beautiful view, these particular issues significantly impacted my stay. I hope that So/Bangkok hotel takes these concerns seriously and addresses them promptly to ensure a better experience for future guests.
Also, the VIP membership floor, located on the 25th floor and according to the information provided to us that they will have afternoon tea around 12:30. However, upon arriving at the designated area, we were disappointed to find that nothing had been prepared. The absence of any arrangements was disheartening, especially considering the anticipation we had for this experience.
I sincerely hope that So/Bangkok hotel addresses this issue promptly, as it has undoubtedly impacted my overall impression of the establishment. Guests should be able to rely on the information provided and trust that the hotel will deliver on its promises.
