POSITIVE: The place is nice, beautiful and clean. The room is nice and clean. We had a hair dryer and steamer (which is way better than iron), and the air conditioner. All worked perfectly. No roaches, no ants, no bed bugs. Didn't notice any mold anywhere. The staff are welcoming and working hard to keep everything clean. Room service checks every day if you need anything. They always have bottled water, so you can have as much as you need. The buffet is a good place to eat. The food is varied, tasty, and always plentiful and hot. Caring waiters always try to please. Entertainment and party every day. NEGATIVE: Some pig-mannered vacationers who like to pig out IN the pool, literally sitting in the pool spilling the alcohol beverages and dropping food pieces in the water. The attitude of one of the representatives of the staff who stands near the reception of the buffet, meets and escorts visitors to the table. She didn't let me take out the food to my room even after I explained that I needed it for my 2 year old child who got very sick and I couldn't bring todler for feeding to buffet. She replied literally: "Well, this is not my problem. You can't carry out food. Call room service. " So rude. So advise for those who will go with toddlers: bring plastic container and a bag, they won't check your bag, you will feel a little like a thief but at least your toddler will be fed in any situation 😉

To give this place an honest review. It is a very old resort seems there working very hard to keep up with the maintenance seems to have staff working the property around the clock .Our room was clean, beach is beautiful. I would say the staff is what made it great they were amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. The spa it’s fantastic. The food is very average to below, nothing knocked my socks off. Entertainment was fun and there is always something going on ..Would I stay here again probably not ..

I do not normally write reviews, but using reviews as a major decision factor to where we stay this place deserves a review. Usually when something is too good to be true, it is. This resort is the exception. The Hotel was very clean, very accommodating, and overall blew us away! Every restaurant was phenomenal and even the buffet was next level. They have 5 different pools to choose from, 10 different restaurants all of which were included (Some of which you do need to wait, and do not accept reservations), room service, plenty of bars, and a show every night, casino and Huge rooms with good working AC and a ceiling fan (nice added touch!) we were exceptionally surprised and plan on coming back! I will say the ONLY downside, and not even a downside is that it IS NOT in the hotel district and would need to taxi anywhere off the resort, but with how much was to offer we didn’t even need to leave the resort!

I was not impressed. The check in process took over 2 hours. The rooms while trying to be modern and updated need much improvement. The bathrooms were wiped down but not cleaned. The food was fine but lacked vegetables. Most of the staff solely focused on their job and therefore there was a lack personalization towards the guests and assistance. It is not a smoke free resort as guest smoked cigarette's throughout the resort. The kids club is great in theory it is really geared towards kids 7 and younger and do not provide food or snacks. For a Marriott Autograph resort I was very disappointed in the facilities and disappointed in Marriott’s support.

Check-In was smooth, our room was ready upon arrival (2 hours prior to check-in time) and we were greeted by a concierge who escorted us to the Hideaway lounge where we were immediately served cocktails and offered a nice selection of buffet items. Our butler, Emanuel, took us to our room, showed us how to use the schedule and room service ordering technology on the TV, and asked us our favorite snacks and beverages to stock our minibar. Our room was beautiful. Very clean, well maintained, with a stunning ocean view and balcony jacuzzi tub. We also had a jacuzzi tub in the middle of the room that we enjoyed, and a large walk-in-shower. Our mini-bar was stocked daily, and we were able for request extra beer and water that was delivered very timely. We did have an issue with our tub drain the first night, however, within 2 hrs of notifying our butler, it was repaired and we had no more issues. As for the rest of the resort, the property is MASSIVE and beautiful. In certain areas, you can tell it is a bit older resort, however they are currently doing lots of maintenance trying to update the property. The renovations did not hinder our stay, and we barely noticed the workers scattered around the resort painting and doing repair work. We did notice a strange smell, that some complained they thought was sewage, BUT we have come to recognize the smell as the usual smell in Mexico (based on previous travels to other resorts and areas of the country) The chemicals used during desalination make the water smell a tad strange, but we did get used to it, and it didn’t impede our experience. There are several pools on property, we spent the majority of our time at the Hideaway pool, but the diamond club pool was beautiful as well, and the family-friendly side of the resort had large slides and play areas for children that looked fun. The water was clean, and the pool butlers were very attentive. The chair and cabana situation at the pool was a tad crazy, as by 8:30 AM towels and personal belongings had been laid out to “reserve” places. However, brief conversations with the pool butlers and a small tip, got us a cabana each day and an endless supply of poolside drinks. They also had food options by the pool daily, that we enjoyed. The beach is beautiful, however the sargassum was excessive. We have been told it is a Caribbean-wide issue, and not just a problem in Cancun. It was cleaned every morning by the resort staff, but the large quantities coming ashore made it difficult to keep clean. We didn’t notice it smelling bad, but it did deter us from swimming in the ocean for most of our stay. We did enjoy the ocean front cabanas and the beach bars. These were easier to come by, as most people chose to spend their time by the pools. There were a ton of activities every day all over the resort! From day-time cooking classes to late night karaoke, we were always entertained. The staff was wonderful! Always smiling and willing to help. They also made an effort to get to know us throughout our stay and we found we saw familiar faces daily across the resort who greeted us and made us feel like family. Being patient and understanding during moments of confusion and tipping generously for their service also seemed to go a long way. Complaints- Room service… it took us 1.5 hrs to receive our food at which point it was so cold it was inedible. It was quite difficult to receive our resort credit booklet. So difficult that we actually just decided to go without. Every desk gave us the runaround and kept sending us to different locations only to be told what we actually needed was at a different place. We finally just gave up. All pools close at 7, along with all the pool bars, unless there is an event or activity at that pool in the evening. This caused the entire resort to collapse into the main pool and lobby section, making finding a nice spot to sit and enjoy some evening cocktails difficult.
