You get what you pay for here. Room price can be very affordable especially during weekdays. However, it is located on the other side of the freeway and is not walkable to the strip. The renovated rooms are decent size and nice looking. However, upon entry, you know people had been smoking in the rooms. Service is good for what it’s worth. Overall decent stay considering the price.

The renovated rooms are so nice. They are big and comfortable. Stayed with wife and 3 kids. The space is huge and has a pull out coach. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. They gave us a free late check out and brought up additional blankets for the extra sofa bed so quick. Amazing stay for the price. I had reproved queen on the strip side. The removed pool is very nice as well!

We stayed in a renovated room. While the size was nice and the bed was comfy they have some issues with the rooms still. Our bathroom vanity light fuse kept popping, tv went out a few times and someone on our floor started smoking pot so our entire room smelled for more than a day.
It's definitely a cheaper place to stay but we were there for a conference and it was fine. The pool is nice but only 3ft deep and no hot tub which was a bummer. The pool also has very short hours.

AT THE RIO, Las Vegas:
My recent stay at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas was nothing short of delightful. Upon check-in, I was offered an upgrade to a new, spacious room, which was perfect for my family of five—two adults, two kids, and a baby. The room was one of the nicest I've seen in Vegas, with ample space and a stunning view from the large window. It was a joy to sit and take in the sights, especially with a glimpse of the Sphere in the distance.
The cleanliness of the room was impeccable, and my kids were thrilled to come back to a spotless space every day. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel welcomed and well taken care of.
In terms of dining options, the food at the hotel was quite good, although I did feel that there could be more dessert and sweet options available. While there is only one late-night food choice, I was pleasantly surprised to find a cake vending machine near Smash Burger, which was a fun treat.
One downside was the hotel's distance from the Strip, but the easy parking and fantastic view more than made up for it. It would be great to see a nice arcade for kids and more late-night food options in the future.
Overall, I highly recommend the Rio Hotel for a clean, family-friendly stay with a spectacular view. I'm hoping to return for our 10th wedding anniversary this year.

I stayed at the Rio Hotel & Casino during a Google conference and realized that this hotel offers a mixed experience. The rooms are undeniably spacious, great for business travelers or groups and a good value if booked with Hyatt points or well in advance. The hotel prioritizes guest safety but be prepared for inconveniences related to this, like the security escort needed for duplicate room keys. The food court offers a few options, with the sushi being a surprising standout for both quality and price.
Unfortunately, the Mexican and ramen restaurants don't quite live up to expectations. Additionally, ongoing renovations and high occupancy can sometimes lead to disruptions.
While the Rio boasts some positives, be aware of its drawbacks. Some of the staff can be rude, which adds an unpleasant element to the stay. The off-Strip location may not be ideal for easy access to the heart of Vegas action. The pool area is fine for families or a casual dip, but it's not a luxurious highlight. Lastly, the gym, while functional, feels dated. If top-notch amenities, a wide array of high-end restaurants, and consistently friendly service are priorities, consider alternatives.
That said, if a spacious room is your top priority, the Rio is a decent option, especially for business trips or those paying with points, as prices can get expensive for what it is.
