The staff were really nice and welcoming from the moment we arrived to when we left. They were always there to help and make sure we had everything we needed. The food was great with lots of different options, and the chef was happy to make changes for us. The pool area was nice and added to the relaxing vibe. It was a perfect spot to chill out and hang with family. We want to say a big thanks to the staff for being awesome including kids zone staff, and we can't wait to come back again soon. Shangri-la Hambantota is definitely a place to check out!

Absolutely fantastic experience. Luxury hotel in a fantastic location. Paradise. Food was exquisite. Pools amazing. Only thing I would say it the service could be slightly faster but this did not massively affect our stay

Good price / value. Might be a bit run down for a 5 star resort, looks like its hey days are over, but we appreciated the variety served in the buffet breakfast / lunch / dinners; the kid friendly furniture and kids' food corner in the main restaurant; a well equipped, fully operational gym; a big, indoor kids play area where our 3 years old spent easily 3-4 hours, splash pool, kids' pool, etc .. Definitely a good place with young children and good to rest / relax for 3-4 days.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Shangri-La Hotel, where the exceptional service and beautiful room made for a truly memorable experience. The dining options were fantastic, especially the exquisite cuisine at the hotel's restaurant, which left a lasting impression. My family also appreciated the well-maintained swimming pool and exciting pool slides, providing hours of fun for the kids. However, I would suggest adding more international breakfast options to cater to the diverse palates of guests, as the current offerings primarily focus on Sri Lankan cuisine. Overall, Shangri-La Hotel is an outstanding choice for those seeking a luxurious and enjoyable stay.

We came on our honeymoon and was not a good experience at all. The balcony door lock didn’t work and we informed the reception about it (had to call many times because they didn’t answer the phone) and the room service came and looked for it and said they will send a technician. Since we were late for dinner we requested them to send him by 9 pm who never showed up. Then we found a gecko roaming in our room table and spoke to the manager and he changed our room. Took like one hour to send someone to change the rooms. Lastly, we gave them our laundry to do overnight and said they we return it by 10 am the next day before we check out. Had to call the reception multiple times but no one came with our laundry. Finally we had to go to the reception with our bags and after 45 minutes from our actual check out time we got the laundry. Never expected such a worse service from the hotel and the staff members doesn’t even care but the guests. Even at the buffet we had to request for each and everything from the staff even had to find a table by ourself. Poor service.
