Had a great experience at Movenpick hotel Colombo during my birthday celebrations. The food was great and the service was awesome. Most importantly, thank you for offering me a complimentary cake for my birthday celebrations. One of the best hotels in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended.❤️❤️❤️

This is the vanity pool situated at the roof amidst all the other facilities and luxuries. Has a nice cafe with good soothing music, drinks and snacks and a jacuzzi too. There is also a sitting area for the non-swimmers to enjoy the view from the rooftop and catch the fresh breeze. All in all a wonderful relaxing experience

I got the seaview room which unfortunately blocked by the building, but the room is spacious. The water pressure was too low from what I like. The staff is freindly. I had an issue with the concierge service which forgot to book the hotel taxi that I requested one day before. I ended up waiting for 15 min and no communication to another driver who needs to pick me up in the evening, so I waited again 30 min when It was raining really bad in the area. After complaints, no issues at all on the next day, but we should avoid this case.
Another point to mention is the breakfast. The reception told me that it is ready at 6am, but it was only 50% ready when I was there everyday during my stay. So, I was very disappointed. It is better that the staff explains the customers the right information to avoid disappointment. That is why I gave 3 stars.

The food in thai restaurant is too spicy 🌶 for most of the foreigners
The chef should be aware of the flavor they are serving .
The visitor from other countries mostly can’t get used to such spiciness like local people.
The thing mentioning above should be the common sense for hotel staff to be aware of all the time !
The service knowledge should be enhanced for staff training
The staff is too relaxed when they work.
Customers can hear they are talking and laughing when sitting inside the restaurant.

The hotel is and the rooms are very nice but it's let down a little by some of the staff and facilities. The rooms are very big and the beds are very comfortable with great views across the ocean. The breakfast buffet was generally very good with a wide selection of western, Sri Lankan and Indian options. The staff on reception and around the hotel in general were good. The gym is very well equipped for a hotel but the staff there are not good. The man working there didn't acknowledge me any of the times I arrived and continued his workout using equipment that I was hoping to use. Not professional at all. The staff in the restaurant on our final day seemed quite chaotic also and we were asked to sit at one table then moved to another at breakfast without explanation. The roof bar was good and the pool is a good size but the entire seating area around the pool is currently closed for maintenance. Overall the experience was good and I would recommend it. If they sort a few of the above points out it would be great.
