Sandals Ochi was simply amazing!
From being met at the airport through leaving was such a great experience.
Didn't spend much time in the room other than to sleep, but the room was good. What you see when you booked it, is what you get.
Food was amazing at all restaurants. Views are simply stunning. But the best part about the resort is the staff. EVERYONE was so amazing at their job. Everyone was friendly, and actively trying to help you with anything.
Entertainment staff was phenomenal. They did such a phenomal job putting on shows and activities for the resort.
This was my first Jamaica Sandals experience and this resort set the bar extremely high for my follow up visits.

After reading some poor reviews I was skeptical. We stayed on the hillside in a butler suite and had the best time. Despite it raining 2/5 days we were there we made the best of it. Stacy and Josh our butlers were phenomenal. Snacks were left in our room in the afternoons and our butlers drove us up to our room whenever we needed a ride. The hop was easily accessible to get to the beach side. Food was great as well. Staff was friendly and everyone said hello, good morning or good afternoon/evening. Overall great honeymoon!

We have stayed at one other Sandals property and had an excellent experience. However, I would call this experience mediocre at best. There were multiple little problems/disruptions that kept happening and it just added to the overall less impressive experience.
We were locked out of our room twice — no we didn’t demagnetize the key, no we didn’t get it wet. The lock itself was broken. The first evening we waited over an hour for the issue to be resolved (our first night). The second evening someone actually walked up with us to the room and noted “ah yes it’s messed up”. She was very accommodating and ended up “upgrading” our room. It was essentially the same room but across the hall with a different view. However, new room was near the pool and so loud. I enjoy an afternoon nap while on vacation and this was impossible. It was also near the piano bar so it was very loud every evening as well.
The food is mediocre at best. I got frustrated when I tried to order certain items and was told they weren’t available. A lot of the food tasted as if it had been under heat lamps for long periods of time. When we tried to order at the quick service restaurants, often we were met with exasperation and occasional eye rolls. Once the pizza I ordered was given to a butler that needed a pizza quickly. I was told it was “dropped” but I was literally the only person there. Optics of situation weren’t good.
Staff were generally disinterested with a few exceptions (Krisilla at the front desk and Krystal at the French restaurant).
Bed wasn’t super comfy and the room was in need of updates. Our mirror on the wall was crooked. Closet doors were broken. Lighting didn’t work.
Some positives —
The Hop was better than advertised. We never had to wait longer than 5 min and it was very reliable and quick.
The beach is very pretty and I enjoyed the shade from the trees. Beach also was never overly crowded which was also nice.

We flew to Montego Bay and took the shuttle to Ocho Rios. Long ride but beautiful scenery and the vibe was fun. Antoinette from Red Lane Spa came in on her day off to give me the best massage I've ever had! She also decorated the beds with flowers in the shape of hearts since it was our anniversary ♥️ All staff was helpful, polite, and courteous. Restaurants were good, food was delicious, but the kitchens are all on island time so don't expect a quick bite anywhere. The views were amazing and we appreciated that they had people who walk around and take pictures. We left our phones in our room for most of the stay.

It was an okay trip just average. Just a lot of small things over and over and over. Started off with stop and Dunn's River to drop off guest and they got singing and hot towels and when we showed up we got proceed to the front desk and then have a seat we'll be with you. One of Butlers was great she keep the fridge full of the NA beer I requested so it was cold while the other one proceed to show up with it to be like here I brought your beer but great buddy it's warm if you would have put it in the fridge when I asked for it while we were gone for the day I could of had cold beer before we went to dinner. Dinner was okay but they kept giving us a table with a light out so it was hard to see the menu. The 10 servers we had for lunches and dinners we had 2 that seemed like they didn't want to be there and one was in the French restaurant. We were always able to get chairs and the beech or the pool so that was good but the specialty drinks my wife said were watered down. The resort feels big because it is broken up into 2 sections hillside and beech side and you have to take a little bus which we never had to wait to long for. The food was average to good but not great. One of our deserts at the French rest. was still frozen. We went in with and open mind and not knowing what to expect. Did we need a butler probably not but they were helpful.. Will we go back to Ochi probably not on the next trip but we will give Sandals another shot but we know there are other options out there too.
