Wonderful boutique resort. Adult only, which really adds to the tranquility. We keep coming back here, as everything is exceptional, from service, quality decor, tranquil atmosphere, yoga sessions, etc. The food is incredible. Love that it does not serve anything in buffet styles. The breakfast menu is great, with so many options and different breads, pastries and jams every day. The zero waste policy is great. Haven't had a single bad meal at SALT, every dish is properly prepared with love and care and you can see the attention paid to the ingredients.

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was truly luxurious. Despite the cyclone outside, we felt completely safe and had a lot of activities to do like mixology session and bake your own cake. The rooms were very beautiful, the beach was clean and tidy, all the basic amenities were well provided, with umbrellas outside each room and a common bathroom for the beach. My room did have 2 cockroaches but the management was quick to respond and remove them from the room. The breakfast spread was delicious and the salt room was relaxing and rejuvenating. All good things for the resort. Highly recommended for the price and a quite time.

The Salt is located in a less touristy area of the island with a direct access to the beach. There are other hotels from the Northern and Southern side. There is a parking available if you arrive with your own rented car. I recommend renting a car for moving around Mauritius. The property (+/- 60 rooms) with a design or boutique vibe. It is adults only hotel. The service is quite good although some guys in the restaurant should improve their language skills. I found the food to be very good, fusion type, with lots of various options, including healthy ones. The menu includes small, medium and large plates. You can have various meal plans (BB, half or full board). The pool/restaurant area has a good ambience. The same applies to the roof top bar. The young bar tender there is great and attentive (unfortunately I don't remember his name). We had a room with a direct ocean view on the second floor with a small terrace. In the room I missed a small fridge and a French press for making coffee (there is ground coffee in a mini bar). The only downside was the seaweed washed up each day on the beach. The management should consider using a small tractor to remove the seaweed instead of doing it manually. The neighbouring properties use tractors. It is much faster and efficient. I would also appreciate if the gym was bigger. The one there is tiny.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay there and would be happy to come back in the future.

Wow!! Just wow! Everything you read about Salt is true. It’s a beautiful stylish hotel, sat right on the soft, white, sandy beach. All of the staff are fabulous, and caring, and every single one them makes it their mission to ensure that you are having an amazing time. The rooms are spacious and stylish. Even the little boutique shop is charming. Now let me talk about the food! I have never been to a place where the food is a revelation at every meal. I am waking up excited to see the specials! All the food is freshly made by the fantastic team (who you can see preparing the food in the open kitchen.) Every meal is fresh and so full of flavour. We got engaged while here and they arranged for us to have a romantic meal on the beach to celebrate. Manager Med and his team were so good to us. Sanjay had everything prepared and running like clockwork. Head chef Shiva outdid himself with a four course, heavenly experience. Stunning giant prawns, gorgeous chocolate lava cakes! All of it was exquisite. Thank you to the whole team for making our night so special and our whole stay the best time ever.

My review is based on a week of stay at SALT of Palmar on all inclusive package. This place is overrated by influencers and highly priced when compared to other hotels which are way more worth to visit in Mauritius. If you want to know more by yourself, they have an app called SALT, you get to see everything on there. This place markets as eco friendly but tbh it is more of cost saving and revenue optimisation for them. 1. Do not book this place, if you are going on honeymoon as there are barely any activities that can be done at this beach, provided that weather is always windy and hotel (which is not even a hotel) area is small. Most activities you have to pay extra. 2. Food - compared to other chains of hotel, you usually get different buffets or menu set on a daily basis. But at Salt, the same menu every day which is quite boring and we have eaten out most of the time, due to the level of saturation and repeated ingredients in the meal. Yes, there is no prawns or premium seafood you would wanna taste available in your menu, unless you want to pay an extra Rs4500 pp. Most of the menu is vegetarian or vegan. There IS NO SALT in any food, you have to add your own salt which comes from a box that is laying there all day and night, not knowing if other guests mingled their hands in there. 3. Room - Bed was comfy, books to read, yoga mat, gowns and provided a radio! Well nobody mentions, but there IS NO TV and NO FRIDGE in the room! Do not make the mistake of leaving the door of your toilet open, as no matter what, even after room cleaning, it smells like gutter inside every where. If you intend to open the door to evacuate the odour, well you will be sitting with packs of mosquitoes in the room. A/C is very loud. Shower has no pressure and very smelly and moldy. 4. All inclusive package - 5% of the drink menu only is included, the rest you pay extra. Wine menu - all is extra to pay. 5. Service - they are on short of staffs who are not familiar to food menu, they are overworked (same shift working 4-5 days morning and night) and most of the time when you request something they either forget, or it takes ages to get it to your table. No one will approach you, not even the food manager on duty will come and ask you if you need something if needed. You are ignored and always need to wave at them to get them to listen to you. Only the guy at the bar/ Fayaaz who would seriously acknowledge people, and the rest, is only doing a job and getting paid. 6. Restaurant very limited area and close to people. Always have to wait to be seated. Pool was ok. 7. Beach bar - never open Rooftop bar opened at 6.30pm and not 5.30pm as per app - well what is the point of this bar? to watch nothingness at night? Would expect it to open for sunset or when the view is better. Breakfast finishes as 10am not 10.30am as per app Ordering food in room - pay extra Food is not served all day - no snacks at the bar seems like the excuse is they run out of the unknown non existing peanuts. 8. Entertainment at night - most boring ones, does not run every day 9. Parking is limited Do not expect to be visiting a "5 or 4 star hotel" as per google reviews. It is only a complex of apartments set together with a pool in middle and very limited area and access to the beach. Booked this place thinking it would be part of a "Lux Group" resort, which was nothing near, but only to know that this placed is hyped by influencers who get free access to this place just to promote this renovated property. I am sorry but I was not happy with the stay, the service and facilities for the price that you pay for it - you can definitely find way better than this place in Mauritius!
