Royalton does not know how to do All-Inclusive. They are outside their depths in this arena and have much to learn about how all-inclusive hotels are to be run. My family of 4 stayed at the Royalton Negril Jamaica resort in April 2024 for 4 days. A family member was having a wedding on property and the date coincided with spring break for my kids so we made a vacation out of it. The first of many issues was that reservations had difficulty finding the block of special rate rooms the bride/groom reserved for their wedding guests. After a second hour long phone call, it was eventually sorted but they did not inform the wedding planner of our booking and we were almost not included on the guest list despite booking early. The second and more important issue was that we booked a swim-up suite with an attached private pool. Upon arrival at the front desk, I found out that we have the presidential suite instead that does not have a swim-up pool. Not only did I not get what I requested, I found out that the presidential suite is more expensive than the swim-up that I should have gotten. So essentially, I paid more for what I did not order or want and I know it was not my mistake as my teenager was listening to the call and it was her request for the swim-up suite. After a lengthy conversation with the front desk at check in, I requested to speak with a supervisor/manager. The supervisor was rude and did not have a solution. No refund, No moving to another suite as I now found out that the hotel had overbooked the swim-up suites by negative 4 meaning four other guest would not get a swim-up suite. The manager asked for some time to check into the matter and get back to me so I checked into what was provided. To add insult to injury, the next morning I got a all from the front desk offering a poolside Cabana free of charge for the duration of my stay. All I needed to do was come to guest services to complete the process. Upon arrival at guest services desk, I was informed that the call to me was an error and that I do not have a Cabana since all Cabanas were booked for the duration of my stay. They kept asking me to talk to so-called managers that have no power to do anything or make any change. I complained about how rude and combative a front desk supervisor, whose name I could not recall and the manager quickly supplied the name. It seems other guests have complained about this person’s attitude. The manager reluctantly confirmed my suspicion when I asked. As for the property itself, it was very well designed and fairly new but having stayed at other all-inclusive properties before, Royalton Negril leaves much to be desired. The main pool was dirty and had a scum of grease along the entire waterline edge (I was told by a pool worker it was caused by sun-screen). Overall, I do not recommend this property. I have been to several other All-Inclusive properties in Jamaica and the service was superior to this. I do not think this resort understands customer service in general not to mention stepping up to All-Inclusive. The term conveys something the Royalton Negril has not yet mastered… trainees at best.

While they claim to be a Luxury 5 Star, they are not! Perhaps a 3.5 Star , no luxury whatsoever!! A girl's trip of 6 , they scattered us in 2 buildings that were not close to each other as we requested. They didn't seem to want to accommodate us. Ugh Swim out had mold, and missing tiles. Room had bugs We stayed in buildings 4 and 6. Rooms were cleaned with water only, no disinfectant products. The shower wasn't cleaned all week. All disgusting! Beds weren't changed once a week as per hotel policy. Drinks were nothing special. No fresh bananas, coconuts, passion fruit etc One positive, the weather was great and I travelled with great friends. Sorry Royalton Negril, You were a BIG Disappointment for the Big $$$$ charged

You are greeted with I think Jamaican Punch (non-alcoholic), the staff were very helpful with telling us all amenities on the resort and offered us help from a bellboy that took our luggage to our room. The grounds were beautiful, the view of the ocean, the landscape, and structures were well maintained. We stayed 6 nights and had nightly entertainment, different options of food. Zen, you need a reservation, so make sure you get the rsvp done earlier that day. The Zen staff are awesome singers. We had the Jr luxury Oceanview suite in building 2 (I think that is the name of the room). I did not like the look of the couch. It had spots and didn't look safe to sit on, if you know what I mean. The shower was big enough for 2 people, had 2 waterfall shower heads, a detachable shower head, and a seat. There was a jet tub in the room, i used it once I didn't really care for it. There were 2 TVs in the room, a closet, and a drawer space. While housekeeping is cleaning, make sure to lock your door unless you don't mind being walked in on. Overall the resort was 5 out of 5.

One of the best resorts I've gone to. The food is unreal, and the amount of options are great. The easy kids buffet was a hit and the room service was relatively quick. The beach was outstanding and the infinity pool was very cool. The kids area could definitely use a touch up, but our kids enjoyed it even with it only fully working for a couple days. The kids club is also extremely handy- our kids spent time there everyday. They loved the activities. The snorkeling is the biggest plus. Amazing sights right off the hotel beach.

Fourth time in Jamaica, easily the worst resort aside from the first time, but that place was cheap so expected. One important thing to note is we did not stay in the Diamond Club because there weren't any rooms left. I don't know if they are better, but here is my honest review for the basic room. I've loved every other trip I've taken to Jamaica which is why I keep coming back. I'll try to hit it all. 1. The room - safe was broken (thankfully they fixed this right away), closet was stuck shut, curtains didn't close all the way, we had to figure out how to hold the handle to on the toilet to get it to flush correctly, and one of the coffee mugs was cracked all the way down the side. Two days we did not get our fridge restocked and had to call. Overall the room felt dingy and damp. 2. Service - hit or miss. Some people were really great. Others seemed like they hated their lives. My daughter was a fan of Nixon at the swim up bar because he would serve her right away. A lot of them ignore kids which kind of stinks because a) we tipped them and b) part of the fun is kids can order stuff themselves. The bartender in the lobby bar (I didn't get her name) was really great too. 3. Restaurants - 2 nights we had to go to the buffet because they couldn't seat us despite arriving shortly after they opened. The nights we did get to eat they removed signs from 2 out of 3 of the tables that said "Reserved for Diamond Club" so technically we probably shouldn't have been seated. The worst experience - the last morning we were there the buffet WAS CLOSED for a private party so our only option was to eat pastries and yogurt from the coffee shop. I don't understand how you can close a restaurant and your other option is a tiny coffee shop for a huge resort. Super odd. I will say the service in all of the restaurants was great. The food was good except the Sports Bar. We ate at the Steakhouse, Italian place, and Calypso. They were all good. 4. The beach and pool are nice. Be prepared on the beach for people to try to sell you stuff. We were there on a crowded week so if you don't claim a seat at the pool early, you aren't getting one. We just ended up on the beach everyday because I'm not getting up at 7am to claim a spot. 5. My kids liked the kids club. We sent them there a few mornings for about an hour so we could hit the gym and they had fun. You do need their passport to register them the first time so bring that along. 6. The entertainment at night was ok. Nothing spectacular, but the vibe team is good and they do a great job during the day at the pool. My kids really liked the foam party they had in the kids pool the one day. 7. We did one excursion, not through the resort, that I highly recommend. It's a snorkeling trip then they take you to an island (Booby Cay) where you can get fresh lobster, fish or crab at an additional cost. It's pricey, but totally worth it. 8. The trip to the resort from the airport can be really long (1.5 hours or more). Given all of the above the drive wasn't worth it. Overall we did have fun. I'm just glad this wasn't my first Jamaica experience because I don't know if I'd feel the need to keep coming back if it was. My advice is find a better resort because Jamaica is normally a great place to visit.
