Our stay at Pestana Royal in Madeira was fantastic from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Marlene at the reception desk, whose exceptional assistance set the tone for our entire stay. Thank you, once again, Marlene. The hotel itself boasts beautiful accommodations, excellent amenities, and stunning views. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit, ensuring that every aspect of our stay was enjoyable. I highly recommend Pestana Royal to anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable stay in Madeira.

Positives first, the staff were great; welcoming and helpful. The food in the dining room and restaurant was also nice very, with a wide selection covering our different tastes. There's also a wide selection of drinks and tasty cocktails available from the bar and around the hotel.
On the downside; first, the rooms are looking a bit tired. The beds in particular looked like they needed replacing as both had noticeable sagging.
The biggest downside for us however was that the hotel became the host venue for an international swimming event. This meant that from halfway through our holiday the hotel became full with athletes and their coaches which led to the whole hotel feeling like a training camp. Non swimming guests were unable to get into the dining rooms for 90 minutes plus of any given service with so many athletes hanging around to talk after eating and loading up plates and going back around... There were queues for 10-20 minutes to get food. Fine for a training camp but not for a 5-star hotel experience. The hotel did nothing to make the experience better for the non-swimming guests. I would have hoped that they might have separated the swimmers from other guests to maintain the experience that we had paid for.

Very nice hotel and generally happy & helpful staff. Very good facilities and friendly restaurant staff, the food was varied & good quality. Drinks both alcoholic & non alcoholic were readily available.
Special mention to Sandra M and the reception team, any queries or problems we had were delt with promptly & efficiently.
The live music during breakfast by either an experienced pianist and talented guitarist really provided a pleasant atmosphere.

All the hotel staff are so friendly and helpful.
Italian last night - lovely food and both Sophia's were funny and lovely.
Our room is a bit small but comfy and lovely view.
Love the wine counter.
Coffee machines are always available so I can go get a cappuccino to drink on my balcony before venturing down to breakfast.

An excellent hotel for a relaxing break in this wonderful island.
The good feeling of the hotel starts as soon as you check in.
The hotel takes great care of their guests from the excellent room service to the food in the restaurant.
Guests have the added facility of a complementary coach into town twice a day.
Although, the public transport on Madeira is first class.
A special mention to Customer Services Manager, Karina, who is always on hand to make sure things run smoothly.
All in all, a great holiday experience.
