Room is comfortable (however age is showing and needs a renovation). The property around is excellent with great facilities. Many restaurants, a harbour, swimming pool, gym, artificial beach etc. Te staff is kind and helpful. Great to spend time with the family. Fish market restaurant has a great terrace. Would recommend for families as for couples etc the kids running everywhere and making noise might not be always what you would like in case of a romantic dinner. Overall recommended for a family stay.

Basically, we can recommend this somewhat outdated hotel.
Unfortunately, you can clearly see in some of the rooms that the ravages of time have taken their toll on the hotel. Unfortunately, the standard no longer corresponds to the image of the Arab Emirates.
This movement relates to two stays within a good 3 weeks. Both were almost identical. Both times we had to have the building services come to fix problems with the air conditioning, replace defective lamps and have a door handle that had fallen off screwed back on. We know from other Intercontinental Hotels that in such a case at least a written "apology", usually combined with a small gift, is brought to the room. Unfortunately not here.
This is consistent with our impression that the staff may be friendly, but they do not go the extra mile to give the guest a truly unforgettable experience.
We would particularly like to highlight the very spacious gym and the large and varied beach club, which almost creates an outdoor pool feeling. But here too: Service at the loungers is only available on request.
Would we book the hotel again? The answer is a clear yes and no. If the price is right, yes, otherwise we would look for alternatives.
