Only giving one star because the water on the beach was so clear and pretty!
The only good food option was the hibachi restaurant.
The buffet was absolute trash and the so-called preferred lounge food was even worse (see picture of what they were calling eggs).
Do not be fooled by the 5 star ratings!!!!! You are paying for an all inclusive resort but the food that's included is not good! It's a waste of your money!!
And if you're a black person staying on this resort, be prepared for the racism. They continuously asked us were we preferred members each and every time we went to the preferred bar. And they were NOT asking other people! We were there for 6 days!!!! And they asked every single time we got a drink at the bar which was sometimes 5-6 times. And yes it was the same person asking us and not asking anyone else! Choose a better resort!!

We stayed 7 nights at this resort and there were a few things that really stood out, some good and some not so good.
Firstly, the positives:
- The food. We personally enjoyed the food very much. The buffet had good options for breakfast, lunch, and supper. We ate at the specialty restaurants every night and they were all delicious. Service was top notch.
- The location. The beach was breathtaking. The water is crystal clear and shallow. No strong waves/currents so you can relax and enjoy the beautiful beach. You cannot beat this beach.
- The staff. Service at the restaurants was great and the staff were very professional and helpful. The entertainment team is very friendly, definitely a highlight of this trip.
The negatives:
- The beach chair situation. We had to wake up LATEST at 6:30 every morning if we wanted to find a spot in the shade at the beach. Throughout the day, some of these “reserved” chairs only had people arrive to claim them in the afternoon. Personally, we like to relax and sleep in on vacation, which wasn’t possible if we wanted to get a chair. It seemed like the chairs may have been reserved by staff members who then allocated it to people willing to tip. Can’t say for sure.
- The room. We had a non-preferred room and it was very disappointing. The room was quite outdated. The sockets were falling apart and we were unable to use many of them to charge our devices. Additionally, the WiFi connection was not able to reach our room which is unacceptable. We notified the front desk and were told “it should work” with no other resolutions. We had to do some work at the resort and were forced to do it in the lobby.
Overall, the good outweighed the bad and we would recommend this resort to anyone who wants a relaxing and stress free vacation. We value most beach and food and both did not disappoint.

Overall I'd give this resort 4/5. We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and the service was great. We stayed in a premium room. The food was great, besides room service. The room service food was a little bland but the restaurants are great. We loved the Italian and World Cafe. You can always get into World Cafe but may need to wait for the Italian but never too long. The beach was very clean and plenty of chairs. If you are someone who likes entertainment, this probably isn't for you. They had one show every night that we enjoyed but that was it. We did a lot of excursion and relaxed by the beach. If you aren't looking to leave the resort you might pick a different hotel but overall I really enjoyed my stay!

I would like to praise and compliment your management and staff on the stellar hospitality and service you all provided us on our last visit.
We were received with a very warm welcome from Patricia at the front desk upon arrival. She had recognized us from one of our previous visits to Now Emerald. Patricia introduced me to Faustino, who was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay.
Our appreciation for Miguel and the entire entertainment crew goes without saying as we felt this was some of the best entertainment we have seen in our recent years traveling to Mexico. The Explorer's Club is one of our favorite services you offer, our children still talk about their experiences there and we brought back all of their crafts and creations (pirates hats, piggy banks, paintings etc.)
Special appreciation goes to the crew that took care of us every day at the beach, especially Alex (Alejandro) mi hermano :) who also remembered us from our visit to Now Emerald. The preferred club crew, Elmer & Yojanna always greeted us with a smile and always took care of us and last but not least Russel and Sergio at the Lobby Bar.
We plan on returning to your resort and making it a regular destination for us. I hope you are as excited to see us as we are to see you.

Beautiful location and excellent service. Probably not an honest 4 star. Low stars because of the awful food. Resort better for kids and couples. Went as a solo adult.
Pros: friendly service, very attentive. But more attentive with larger groups and families. Very clean! Rooms cleaned every day. Beautiful beach area. So scenic.
Cons: food is awful. Great presentation, but no taste. Like worse than Old County buffet or similar low quality American buffet. Drinks are very weak. They let small kids go in hot tub and adult bar pool. It's unsafe and inappropriate. Overall, very expensive for all inclusive with inedible food. I tried 4 restaurants, all bars, cafe, and premium lounge. Only recommend sushi and anything made to order in front of you. Rooms outdated and need upgrades. Coffee maker is old fashioned.
As a Hyatt Globalist, I would pass.
