Great hotel for kids. Huge character theme throughout the grounds and hotel. Fun pool activities for the kids (main pool) plus two smaller quiet pools located towards the outside rooms. The Cafeteria offered many options for quick service meals. Disney fun for a lesser price tag than some of the other Disney resorts.

We visited the Disney’s Art of Animation Resort for Vacation on our trips to Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios. The hotel was very well decorated and filled with cool surprises. Our rooms were spacious and it featured a cool Murphy Bed and a Mickey Mouse Alexa. The arcade was amazing along with the gift shop. Finally the pool was extremely fun and giant. Only complaint was the expensive cost per day even with an employee discount from our family.

We stayed in a Finding Nemo suite. We had six adults and fit nicely - 2 per bed. We did end up getting a roll away bed so we could have more sleeping space.
The main pool was great, with lots of room to spread out.
Worth noting: Disney doesn’t clean your room every day. You may need to ask for more coffee pods and cups.

We changed our first room because it was too close to the smoking area and we could smell smoke each time we opened our door. The elevator had a foul smell. We overheard someone say “I’ll take the stairs to avoid the elevator with the stench of death”.
They were nice and agreed to change our room. The new room had strong chemical smell. We left the room door open to let some fresh air in. After a while we understood why they used so much chemicals, the bathroom reeked of sewage. You can’t turn on the vent because it’s motion activated only. There is also rust around the drain. We wanted to switch rooms again, the front desk sent a plumber who said there was indeed a problem which he had now fixed. It seemed to get rid of the smell, but then it came back a few hours later and it smelled horrible throughout our 8-night stay. We didn’t complain about it again because we were already unpacked and didn’t want to switch rooms again.
We were in a room with a connecting door. You can hear everything from the neighbors and it keeped waking us up. One night I even heard the neighbor’s snores.
We asked for a fridge instead of the beverage cooler, since we read online that this was possible. They sent us a different beverage cooler. Before we figured that out the person who brought us the fridge moved the dresser to fit the new beverage cooler, and it dragged out leftover foods and crumbs. She smeared it over on the floor with her towel and left most of it on the floor. That was disgusting.
When showering, I found a hair on my hand that was definitely not mine. We were here 7 years ago and it was great. Now we regret coming.

We stayed in the older motel style rooms. The rooms are very clean and remodeled but they are small and there’s nothing special about them. Two beds, basic bathroom. They put in a classless shower curtain to separate the bathroom sink and the sleeping area. We brought 4 large bags/suitcases and there isn’t a good spot to put everything. There is a mini fridge and plenty of spots to charge fans, phones, batteries, and watches. The pool was great.
Towards Disney as a whole, I hated how I have to use all of my food credits. We had 9 meals and a few snacks left by the end of our trip. They said, use them or lose them. There are no refunds or changing them to all snack.
I have a hard time understanding this and see it as me losing money.
The resort is well taken care of and there are nicer buildings. If we stay again, I would spend more to stay at the nicer or more modern buildings.
