Great location with great view and amazing swimming pool but when we visit during the summer/ hot days the reception area/ dinning area And even the walkways are without Air condition so we feel the uncomfortable feeling throughout the dining time. Though there are fans it’s not enough for a hotel of that standard. Rooms are great and it has a colonial look as per the name Citadel. One of our room had a poor A/C circulation but other than all good. Food was 3.5 out of 5, we’ve had the dinner buffet. Management can look into improving the above things since the Kandy climate is changing during the summer days

I went with two of my friends recently for a vacation and had a awesome experience there. The stay was really awesome and food and the service was top level. Such a beatuiful place to have a hotel there and river view is fantastic. Stay was worth for the money spent and sure will visit again.

Welcomed with a pleasantly scented wet face towel on arrival😊 Clearly an older building (compared to others this holiday), but still functional. A very clean hotel, and all the staff were great. The reception, bar, and dining areas look very modern. Lovely art about the hotel. The seats and tables in the bar are very low to the ground which was not too good for me. The pool area is lovely, maybe a little small re number of sun loungers, and the pool attendant was great. This hotel also offers an excellent laundry service. Not perfect, but all staff are professional (cleaning staff do an excellent job), and I would bet that this is the best hotel near Kandy.

I visited this hotel with family just before the Sinhala and Hindu New Year (April, 2024). Location is superb. Nearby to Kandy city, but far enough to avoid the city noise and disturbances. Hotel is right in the bank of Mahaveli River (longest river in Sri Lanka). Such a wonderful landscape. When you are there, do not forget to go on a boat ride in the longest river in Sri Lanka. Earlier the morning, better the views and experience. Rooms and Hotel premises are really good. Comfortable rooms, good AC and excellent luxury amenities. Room views are good. Food - Buffet is good with good spread. Tasty Food. Good restaurant team. I tried some food from pool restaurant also, which is good, and prices are reasonable. Overall a very good experience and hotel is highly recommended. Area for Improvement - Hotel Management : I guess your Team could wear their smile all the times, that would be really nice. They could be little more pleasant in serving their customers.

Amazing stay! The view was beautiful and the staff were always so warming and helpful all the way from the reception to the cleaners. Thank you all. The room was very well equipped and comfortable too.
