Came here for first visit to Saint Lucia to celebrate my birthday. The pictures and videos of the resort were pretty close to what the hotel is like today. Was not greeted with the best reception but it wasn't terrible. The concierge ended up being nice and we got through check in with 1 minor issue on the hotels part. Entering the room was pleasant and to my liking. The room is spacious and as the pictures display. The hotel did not have relevant on site entertainment. Some of the vendors were rather rude and pushy. The staff for the most part was not friendly up front I had to speak first many times. When I started to tip the staff despite the lack of customer service I was getting things changed for the better. I am not sure if the staff is getting adequately compensated. The hotel has the potential of being the best hotel on the island but the foods quality needs to be raised several levels. The onsite entertainment needs to include more local interaction and acts to bring the culture to the resort.

What started as an exciting anniversary getaway turned into a terrible trip after the first night. - My wife had sushi from the sushi bar at the Dorado restaurant. The sushi looked to have been there for too long and was warm. It gave her food poisoning for the entire duration of the trip. She seemed to be slowly recovering until one of our last nights when she had a burger from the bar and vomited that same night. She maybe had one or two cocktails this entire trip due to this which was a waste of all inclusive pricing. - The lights cut on and off in our room. Technicians came to “fix it” but on our last night the lights were cutting off even harder. - Service was unacceptable. Many employees would moan and groan if you asked for food or drinks. They closed the diamond club pool/grill two hours early with no reasoning. A guest asked why they were closing so early and the employee said they just decided to close early at 4pm when it is usually 6pm. The employees that did provide the bare minimum service would shine because the bar was so low. - We rented a cabana on our last day to have some form of relaxation. We tried to coordinate a meeting with the guest services manager, but instead were sent a lower level manager who did not contribute anything to our issues. It cut into time into our cabana day waiting for him to show up and talk. - We tried to meet with the higher manager on our last morning before checkout, the butler claimed they were waiting for us but we sat around and waiting and nobody ever showed up. When we met with our butler for checkout, she did not acknowledge the meeting we were supposed to have. - We met 3 other couples during our stay who all have had complaints and seemed just as ready to leave as us. Many complaints of food quality as well. Check a lot of the recent reviews to see how big of an issue there is with food poisoning. All in all, absolutely AVOID this resort until their food quality issues are fixed. But with the management’s blatant disregard for customer complaints, I doubt this will happen anytime soon. There are much more beautiful locations on the island that seem to have better reviews and less chances to spend your vacation on the toilet.

It is a very beautiful place! Are butlers in the junior. Swim up were amazing in our swim up room was very nice! The pool in The hideaway was losing water while we were there for some reason.... And someone threw up in the pool the night before and the guests noticed it was still there in the morning. Also, there were cracked crafts where the juice was being served and my husband got a bottle of scotch and when he finished it there was a big chunk of Chunk of broken glass in the bottom! If we ordered room service which came with our room it took an hour or more to receive it even if it was only dessert. We did an excursion through the Royalton on a sunset Cruise which they explained would be a short ride to the boat. Turned out to be over an hour there and back so 2/3 of the trip was the drive 😞 we did do a couple excursions with some locals that were selling things on the beach that turned out to be amazing! One was an excursion that included the waterfall and mud baths and another was the Friday night street party... These were exceptional. We paid half down and half when we got ready to go. Also with the Hideaway I got the idea that it was going to be away from the rest of the resort and it was really kind of part of it so it was more noisy than I would have expected.

My mom took six of us on a family holiday here and we are so sad to be on our last day here, as we’ve had such a nice time. Three adults, two teens and a nine year old with very different ideas of fun were all satisfied with our holiday here. We spent a lot of time at the pool and by the end, the staff were calling the kids by their first names and knew their favourite drinks. Brent at the bar really stood out and we really appreciated his kindness, especially towards our girls. Food was good - some things we didn’t enjoy and some were fantastic (we loved the rib-eye and the meal at Zen!) coffees at the shop were very good. The buffet had a huge variety and something for everyone. The hotel was booked to capacity but we were still able to get kayaks and snorkels when we wanted them. Loungers and cabanas were sometimes hard to find partway through the day but we usually found something. We had to wait a bit a few times to eat, once it was almost two hours’ wait to get in, so if you are hungry, go early! Rooms were comfy - some things aren’t in perfect condition due to the humidity here, so paint is peeling in places and some wood has been damp. But we also saw maintenance being done throughout the hotel almost daily, so they’re keeping on top of it as best they can. We left three times - once on the Knotty Girl boat trip (SO good!), once took a hotel taxi to pigeon island (also so good!) and booked an external transfer to a horse ride. The external taxi completely forgot about us and the hotel sorted out their own taxi and arranged payment on the other end right away. We were very impressed with how they took care of it. The beach was lovely, clean and calm. Staff were very helpful. We weren’t Diamond Club and none of felt that we were missing out or not treated as well because of it, as some people said. We did tip often, though. Yes, the trip from the airport is long but we decided to see it as a tour of the island and had a great trip. Roads are pretty similar to where we come from so didn’t see a problem there! Definitely recommend staying here!

My husband and I went on our honeymoon. It was a beautiful resort with a gorgeous view. The food and service were all great. Super friendly staff and they were all extremely helpful. We tried different restaurants but our favorite was the Italian restaurant. Yes the resort is 2 hours away from the airport but I feel like it is worth the drive. The resort has amenities you can pay extra for (including a helicopter ride back to the airport for your departure). I would suggest to make the reservations for excursions the day before because it was booked quickly when we went. We highly suggest this resort and are already planning on another trip back!
