We traveled with a large group that arrived over 3 days or so for our meetings. Our flight was very delayed and we arrived in the last bunch after 10pm. There simply was not enough rooms not under construction to accommodate us all. Some people sat until midnight trying to get checked in. No food available except for at the monkey bar which was hamburger or French fries. No room services on the side they finally got put into that night, we offered to pay more that what had already been paid by the company for our stay for the upgrade to be told it was unavailable. The first day was glorious until we started drinking at the main pool bar. Long story short I spent most of my second day sick as a dog hugging a dirty toilet. Our group was 50+ and most of our group i spoke to about it had stomach issues the whole stay. The grounds are beautiful and the entertainment was wonderful. We won't be back sadly, even if the company does a retreat here again.

Staying at Sandals in Barbados is getting 2 resorts for the price of one! I loved it! We had a swim up pool looking out to the infinity pool across the way. Every part of both resorts was breathtaking. The staff are slower because they are on island time and I understand that. We went with a group of 4 couples. The staff are nice and always greet you in passing. The island is stunning with so much to do…party all night or stay in your room. The ocean was right near our room. The food was good, my favorite was Chi Asian Fusion. The drinks were flowing and everyone seemed so happy and relaxed.I highly recommend this resort. The only reason I rated the room 4 stars is because of the humidity and damp smell. The locals said they’ve never had this much humidity before.

We've just come back from our honeymoon here and it's the best holiday we've ever had. The resort is amazing, it's next door to the other Sandals resort and you can easily walk across to this and use all the facilities in that resort.
The service is the best I've ever had at a hotel, and the staff are some of the nicest people you will meet (the same goes for all Barbadian people!).
Great pools, the main one is more of a party pool, with the other main pool with the swim up bar being more relaxed. We spent most of our time at this one.
The restaurants are all really high quality, with our favourites being La Parisean (rooftop french restaurant which requires booking, make sure to book when you first get to the resort as to not miss out), Greenhouse (farm to table style food, requires booking), Bombay (Indian food), and Schooners (seafood).
We enjoyed the experience so much that we actually booked on site to go back to another Sandals resort (Antigua) next year!

Way below expectations!!
The third Sandals we’ve been to and was by far the worst. First day entering the place, the two main pools were murky, looked like pond water. After we complained they suggested we go to the other side where pools were cleaner. Mold and black residue on the side of the buildings. The bars were constantly out of mint, bananas, straws. Literally asked us to walk to the neighboring resort to get a draft beer because the pool bar draft was broken all week. The worst thing there was service. Every bartender acted like they could care less if we were there. Nobody was happy!! Always had to flag the wait staff down to get a drink refilled. Definitely not a 5 star resort. Besides the service, the AC went out because of the sensors on the balcony door. Took maintenance and the butler a day and a half to respond after numerous phone calls. Waited almost an hour for food every evening at dinner after order was placed. Most of the time you couldn’t even get a cold bottled water….always room temperature or warm. Hardly ever any clean towels at the pools. When you pay for a place like this, you expect a lot better! Every couple we talked with had issues and were very unhappy as well. The butlers main concern was getting the gratuity envelope at the end of our vacation. Don’t waste your time or money, They need a complete renovation starting with the people!

Sandals continues to amaze me with our recent visit to our new favourite Sandals resort: Sandals Royal Barbados. The breathtaking beauty of the location, the phenomenal, hardworking staff, and the overall atmosphere made us feel grateful every day to be there. We spent our mornings with coffee on our patio, followed by a trip to our favourite beach in the Caribbean, and afternoons in our swim up pool.
There is so much care that goes into cultivating every experience at Sandals and it shows. We couldn’t wait to book our return trip for all of the above reasons, but mostly because of our butler team (Ron, Shakeel and Kevan) who brought so much joy, fun and a passion for what they do. We can’t wait to return!
We go to Sandals because we are reassured everything will be taken care of, the properties are stunning, the water is safe, the food is great and we can escape from our day to day chaos. Now we feel like we’re returning to visit family at this specific resort and especially with the best butler team out there!
*I need to add after reading reviews, and watching guests interact with staff - my respect for the sandals team has increased tenfold. I look at pictures of “bad experiences” like sand on the edges of the pool or hear someone scolding staff because a restaurant didn’t have air conditioning. The sand is there from disrespectful guests who didn’t wash their feet after the beach, not the staff who are up at 4am cleaning all the pools. You’re in the Caribbean for the heat, if an air conditioner is broken, so what - eat somewhere else or go to your room. If you go looking for faults, you’ll find them, but 99% of a trip can be wonderful and people share low ratings or treat staff like garbage. The only bad part of our trip was the guests who acted like this.*
