My daughter and I stayed in this hotel. We thought our room was very big especially for a New York hotel! Our bed was comfortable and the pillows were great. The bathroom was large and well equipped. We found it very clean. The front desk staff were extremely helpful. We easily walked to the 9/11 memorial and Pier 36 for the Statue of Liberty Cruise.

This place should literally just be shut down. Rude, bad room temps, bathroom door got stuck and I literally got stuck in the bathroom. The restaurant and bar were “closed for renovations” which we were told from surrounding hotels bars we visits does not seem temporary. The website is smoke and mirrors. The breakfast is outrageous. The only redeeming quality of this place was the nice gentleman who helped us during breakfast (Aaron/ Erin (sp)) DO NOT STAY HERE AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEY CUT THEIR LOSSES AND JUST CLOSE DOWN.

So, okay place, but would stay elsewhere. Staff not very friendly- we had to call for water, then call again after an hour passed and still none, then when staff brought water, they were most grumpy. No happy hour, although it is advertised on website. Bathroom door slides to close with a 2-3 inch gap from floor to ceiling, so minimal privacy. Basic tv. No air flow- was told it is off in winter, and to open window if we want air. Basic coffee- espresso machine broken. Room smelled terribly of smoke entire 4 day stay and now all my clothes have smoke stench. Also, my Mom is a long time loyal Hyatt member and booked room with a “pay upfront” deal. Then we had a death/funeral in family and asked for refund or even Hyatt credit, hotel said “NO!”. Corporate said hotel could provide refund or credit, but hotel manager refused. Bad, bad service. Glad we were able to still make trip, but not impressed with their inflexibility.

Very disappointed in our stay this past weekend. As someone who NEVER complains I feel as if this is worthy of a bad review. We stayed over last weekend 12/9/23 and decided to go with the Hyatt in the financial district because of its great location. The room was $586 for one nights stay which was in my opinion all of the money for a small single bed room. I chose to stay here figuring it would be an all around great place. The staff was very polite and we checked in and went up the room. Upon entering the room it was about 80° in our room and we moved the digital thermostat down to 65°. We left and returned later that evening from dinner and it was still scolding uncomfortably hot. We opened the window and turned the TV on to cool it. It was loud outside (naturally being the city) decided to close and go to bed. Awoke at 3am SUPER uncomfortable once again and didn’t fall back asleep. Mentioned it to the staff and they said that this was an ongoing issue with the heating system and they were updating and renovating rooms with newer system. I asked if there was anything they could do thinking maybe knock $100 off would be the least they could do as it was a horrible nights sleep. They comped us our breakfast (sigh) and said that was the most they could do. Very disappointed and will never give Hyatt another penny. Like I said I’m not one to complain and 80° was not a exaggeration of temperature, neither my wife or I slept more than a couple hours and left regretting our choice to spend a little extra on a higher end hotel.

It's pretty bad.
Room spacious but bare: no mini bar, kettle, or coffee machine. All you get are two cheap, measley bottles of water in the room which are NOT replaced. Surprisingly, the bed was comfortable.
Air conditioning in room was very noisy and ineffective, meaning the room was warm overnight. I told them about this and they said they'd send an engineer, but it was never fixed.
No porters to help with baggage.
