Perfect location for gorgeous views and semi-exclusive access to Impossibles (everyone else has to work hard to get there). But don't forget to bring (or rent) your own boards in advance as they have none for use at the hotel. Padang Padang is a sorta easy walk at lower tides, but bring reef walkers of some sort.
Hotel itself is terrific, and the staff and food are great.

The location of the hotel is very nice. You can find many restaurants, cafes, and beaches nearby. However, please keep your expectations very low. We booked a reservation because we trusted the name Anantara and its chain of hotels. The photos were impressive. When you first enter the hotel, you see a glamorous welcome. However, the inside of the hotel looks like it's from the 1970s. The rooms have never been renovated. Everything is quite old. There are few restaurant options. And when you go to the restaurants, I can't say the food is tasty. Especially the vegan/vegetarian options are very limited. The staff was always very friendly and good, their service was very good, but the hotel conditions are poor. We definitely regretted staying here. Because the value for the money we paid was never this low. Also, if you're considering swimming in the sea, forget about it. There are two quite small pools. The water is warm, but there's no cooling system. You'll need to descend nearly 100 steps to get to the beach. Don't expect any beach experience, just rocks and stones.

Very centrally located. Rooms are nice, but when paying for a 5-star resort, the amenities and decor should match the prices charged. They have bath tub in balcony which is not cleaned regularly. The doors to the balcony look a bit shabby. If they spend a little bit of money to get these things sorted, it's an amazing resort. Also, it's not a beach resort unless you want to go to their impossible beach. Just needs a little tlc

We stayed at Anantara Uluwatu for 8 nights and had such a wonderful experience. Yes there is construction next door, but this is completely out of control of the hotel and they were very apologetic about it. We noticed it at best 3 times during our stay and weren't bothered by it. The staff are beyond incredible, seriously, nothing was too difficult and they always made my wife and I feel so accommodated. We had a pool suite with ocean view which was spacious, had an amazing view, and the pool was incredible. We had breakfast every day at the hotel, and had lunches/dinners occasionally and we found the food to be high quality for a hotel. We also had two massages while we stayed and these were absolutely incredible.
We can't thank the team enough from Anantara for making our stay so easy, relaxing and enjoyable, and we already can't wait to return to stay again!

I haven nothing but good things to say. Check in was professional and smooth. Staff were incredibly attentive from the minute I stepped into the lobby. The room was in perfect condition. The property itself was gorgeous. My companion and I were more than thrilled.
