I recently visited the One&Only Spa and was left disappointed, especially knowing how outstanding it used to be 10 years ago. Back then, it was easily one of the top 3 spas in Dubai. Today, I wouldn’t place it in the top 10.
The facilities were surprisingly limited. There was only a small sauna that could fit just two people, a plunge pool that was neither cold nor warm—just an uninviting in-between—and a steam room that barely worked. The steam only reached the ceiling, and as soon as it began to drop to a usable level, it stopped.
The spa was open to both men and women during the afternoon, which made the limited space even more noticeable. After using the sauna briefly and trying the plunge pool, we returned to find the sauna already occupied. There was nothing else to do besides sit around and play chess—hardly what you'd expect from a luxury spa.
We raised concerns about the steam room at reception. They asked us to wait while they checked, then came back with a vague response: “That’s just how it is.” We pressed again, and again were told, “Please wait.” After about 30 minutes of this, we were finally taken to a proper steam room located in the hammam—which had been empty all along. It felt like we had to insist repeatedly just to get basic service.
We also asked several times if we could start our treatments earlier, but were always told, “We’ll check,” with no follow-up.
The treatments (massage and facial) were fine—average at best. Nothing like the exceptional quality I once associated with this spa.
Finally, when settling the bill, I mentioned my entitlement to a 20% discount. They confirmed it, but had only applied a 10% reduction. I had to point it out before it was corrected.
Overall, this was not the experience I expected from a spa with such a prestigious past. A real disappointment.

We absolutely love the One and Only The Palm - it truly is perfect. We have been visiting for years and every time it is just as good as the last. The hotel is stunning, the rooms are large and luxurious and the facilities are perfect. It has a small, boutique feel in a very large, bustling city - so you can enjoy the rest and relaxation of the resort or venture further afield to the bustling Dubai hotspots. Each guest has a host and this time ours was Brendan, who was absolutely amazing - delivering everything we asked him for and more! The food always delivers although we would love it if they could have more local options too! This place is perfect for adults with and without kids also - with its adult only pool and it’s amazing kids club who go above and beyond, this hotel really does cater for all in the most luxurious and effusive way! 5 stars just isn’t enough.

We have just returned from an incredible stay from start to finish at this beautiful hotel.
We arrived in the early hours of the morning and were greeted by a smile and exceptional service by Andrew who got us checked in and showed us to our room. We stayed in the main Manor House which we loved as were close to everything and the rooms are out of this world, you really feel like you are staying in a palace.
The hotel is like something from a fairytale, it’s immaculate and every corner you turn is just beautiful.
We spent most of our days at the grand pool and were looked after by the staff who work so hard constantly in the heat to ensure you have everything you need (sorry we can’t remember your names but you are amazing!)
We cannot thank the staff enough for their attentiveness throughout our whole stay, with a special mention to our housekeeper Susmita who was so kind and made sure we were comfortable in our room, Marinelle in Zest restaurant who greeted us every morning with a smile and our dedicated host Casey who was always checking in to ensure we had everything we required. These people we had the most contact with but every person was incredible.
We are already looking forward to returning and feel like we now won’t be able to stay anywhere else after our experience at the One and Only. Thank you again and see you next year

Honestly brilliant experience! The hotel room is so excellent, all the service from the staff is great too! Brilliant service especially from Ahmed and Andrew, who really helped us so much. They really go out of there way to show you how much they care and also give out really nice gestures that go a long way. Another mention for Ashwin too, whose service was brilliant and just made our experience even better. The food as well, the breakfast and dinner - the staff are very accommodating and easy with food options and choices. Also definitely get the pizza, it’s unreal! Brilliant stay overall.

My wife and I spent 10 nights at the O&O - the Palm, in a Junior Suite with Pool and were quite simply blown away!
The hotel is spotlessly clean, decorated and designed beautifully and the service some of the best I’ve had in hotels around the world.
Having a suite with a good sized pool, enabled us to have a host service, which for us was Ian and he ensured we wanted for absolutely nothing and made our stay all the more better.
He was able to help us with everything from sourcing forgotten items, to confirming reservations at one of their 4 restaurants - all of which offered fantastic food; the in room dining service was also magnificent, there was an enormous breakfast buffet and a la Carte offering and I don’t think we had a single bad meal.
The beach and pool areas, as well as the grounds are spotless and maintained daily and another nice touch is the Hotel’s collection of Rabbits and Falconers who carry Owls and Hawks.
The staff all over the hotel are profoundly friendly and helpful and special mentions for us go to Ian (of course), Joel on the beach, Krishna, Jerzy(?) and the whole breakfast team, as well as the Concierge team who are very keen to assist when entering and leaving the resort.

We had the most wonderful stay at the one and only. Our host Brendon made our stay easy and helped us organise everything that we needed. He was cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. He actually made our stay. The assistant manager was also very helpful and the staff at breakfast were very cheerful. I would highly recommend the hotel. We had a great time and can’t wait to revisit.

We are fairly frequent visitors to this property. We were at one of the new villas, which was absolutely amazing. They have been built to a really high standard and they are a short walk from the resort. I find they offer a lot more privacy than the standard rooms, not to mention the fact that they are much larger than a standard suite. To us they are much better value for our money
The food in the property is also very tasty. Breakfast is the highlight. I am surprised they haven't been able to set up a michelin star yet.
Their recreational facilities for adults is very very comprehensive from luxury yacht cruises to kayaking to hiking to yoga classes to heli rides to tennis lessons. Simply incredible
For all the facilities for adults, the kids club is one department which is surely lacking. There _is_ is a kids club but with unmotivated/distracted/low energy staff in charge of the kids club, very few children's activities, and low amount of proactiveness I think this is one aspect the hotel absolutely to get right if it wants to get to the level of soneva fushis of the world.
Having a stimulating kids club is vital for the adults to have a good time.
Benedict Canyon Computers
O&O Le Saint Géran is likely the best hotel on the island, which is quite the feat considering all the fantastic properties on Mauritius. I stayed in one of the newly constructed residences and they are fabulous. These villas are all brand new and have everything you could ask for in a private home, with full access to all of the wonderful amenities that the hotel offers.
The multiple restaurants are all fantastic, the spa is stunning, and there is no limit to the activities you can partake in - like scuba, tennis, water sports, etc.
The east coast of Mauritius is more sparse than the east and north, but at a hotel like O&O, you’ll have plenty to do on site. I recommend splitting time between here for rest and relaxation, and another, more lively part of the island for exploration.

Simply the best. Mauritian hospitality at its finest. A hotel that goes over and above to ensure you have a ‘one and only’ holiday experience .
Our children love the complementary waterskiing, snorkelling trips, multi cuisine buffet, diving and golf. We love the rooms, view, padel, food, gym and friendly atmosphere.
Riva opened this year, a set of private homes attached to the hotel which you can enjoy as a hotel guest too. If you like an Ibiza esque vibe, elevated by the Mauritian culture and great Italian food then you must visit for lunch or dinner or just even to popped into the on site deli.
There is a reason we keep coming back, year after year, and that is because they keep working hard to make you feel special - a home from home.

I had the worst experience at the property. I went to the property on my way to the airport as I wanted to stop for lunch and don't like the food at airport lounge. At first the security wouldn't let me in saying I needed a reservation to enter. After a bit of convincing they let me know. As I went to the concierge to ask them about the restaurant options they gave me the details that they have 3 restaurants serving lunch then called someone and said "I am sorry we cannot accommodate you as we are running at full occupancy". And I am like are you saying all your guests have occupied all three restaurants right at this time when I am asking for a table for 1. This is not acceptable, the reason they gave is not acceptable. And it was only coz I was not a hotel guest. I was treated as if I was asking for a free meal, I am not going to pay for what I order. It was highly disappointing. I left for the airport directly without eating.

This hotel is absolutely perfect. We booked a few days here to celebrate my baby turning 1 and the hotel outdid itself, especially our host Ma’in. He went above and beyond with such kindness and attentiveness, he instantly felt like family. The facilities are excellent, and even on a rainy day there are tho gas to do. I would highly recommend the kids club, they have something for all ages. My baby was in the baby room and it was equipped perfectly with ample room for her to move around!
The breakfast staff are excellent and so efficient. We will definitely be back. Thank you to all.

We visited One&Only for the Halloween celebration, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. WE loved everything the people, the food, the atmosphere!!!! it was all wonderful.
It was raining when we arrived, but the weather quickly changed and the sun came out, which made the day even more special.
The Kidsclub team did an incredible job during the Halloween week. The activities were creative and fun, and my kids looked forward to going every day. The highlight for them was the Trick or Treat. They came back with lots of candies and BIIG smiles! They are still talking about the wonderful team: sorka , Gigi, Aeni, Glenda, and Manzel. Thank you all for making my children so happy and creating unforgettable memories for them.

The island is beautiful and the service good, but unfortunately we felt the experience didn’t live up to the price tag.
We were told we could use the water-sports equipment, so we decided to try foilboarding. We were asked if we need an explanation how the board works (which was also charged without us knowing). So after a short 40-minute session, we were surprised with a $730 bill — not exactly what you expect when you’re told something is “included.”
We also had a daily dining credit, but it couldn’t be used for room service, which felt inconvenient when we wanted to sleep in or enjoy a relaxed evening.
It’s a stunning place, no doubt, but for the prices charged, I expected more transparency and flexibility.

Safety and Care Severely Lacking at One&Only Reethi Rah
We were repeat guests of One&Only Reethi Rah over nearly two decades. During our stay in February 2023, I was struck head on by a service vehicle while cycling on a guest path, resulting in serious injuries and a lengthy hospital stay.
The resort provided almost no support or accountability, I quite literally had to beg for an incident report and their insurance company delayed negotiations for more than two years before offering a token settlement. This is not what guests should expect from a so called luxury property.
The resort has changed dramatically. Today it prioritizes profit over guest welfare, the entire environment is obnoxious and arrogant with little care about guest experience, once you have paid and arrive they don't seem to care what happens next. Please think carefully before booking.

We had the most unforgettable stay at Bab Al Shams – it truly felt like stepping into another world. The entire resort is breathtaking, with beautiful architecture, stunning desert surroundings, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes you instantly relax.
The dinner show was absolutely spectacular and the food across all the different restaurants was excellent. Our room was elegant and comfortable, and the whole property felt like a dream. The pool was also perfect – the water temperature made it the best place to cool down and spend time.

• And Ismael, who made our desert safari an unforgettable adventure. He not only guided us through the dunes but also took beautiful photos that we will treasure forever.

Excellent hotel in a spectacular setting; expect to get what you paid for. Details in design and in service.
Service is the best part; prompt, polite and professional.
Large pool(s). Nicely served and well supervised. Kids club is an added value, well equipped and again well served.
F&B are up to expectations. Tried Zala and Vivine. Breakfast is great; variety yet not overwhelming. Consistency would be more appreciated- (quality of olive oil and smoked king fish was not as the first day).
Room service is excellent- suitable for an evening dinner in the terrace (especially if you have kids). We skipped the “spectacle”- but it did not escape us- music, noise and lights were quite audible and visible up till 10pm- would have loved to have a bit more quiet starry night at the terrace, but you don’t get it all. Perhaps another unit that is not so close to the spectacle grounds would have allowed for that- I will check and let you know next stay. Overall 10/10 for expectations and general category in the region- particularly service and staff and cleanliness!

Had a really lovely breakfast at Bab Al Shams. The food was fresh and tasty, and the place has such a calm, relaxing vibe. A big thank you to Mr. Molda for being so kind and attentive, he made the experience even better. Definitely a great way to start the day, he even invited us to come back and try their brunch buffet.

Bab Al Shams is truly a hidden gem in the Dubai desert. I visit Dubai often but had never heard of this place until my wife suggested it, and I’m so glad she did. From the moment we arrived, everything felt like pure luxury.
Check-in to check-out was seamless, the staff were incredibly attentive, the food was excellent, and the amenities were top-class. The rooms were cozy and beautifully designed, giving authentic traditional Emirati vibes. It really felt like stepping into another world while still enjoying modern comfort.
Yes, it is on the pricier side, but in my opinion, it is absolutely worth the experience. Since the resort is about an hour away from central Dubai, I’d recommend renting a car to make the trip easier.
Overall, a wonderful and memorable experience highly recommended!

A peaceful and relaxing break that allowed us to unwind.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, and treat guests with great respect.
Amro at the Zala restaurant was particularly attentive and gave good advice, as did Aziz at the Ninive restaurant and the pool staff.
We had an excellent stay and can only recommend it.
