We were staying at El Castillo Hotel Son Vida, we heard good things about this hotel from a friend from Palma. We decided to have a look and a drink for potential future visits. We walked in the reception area and a bit of the gardens in front we barely saw any clients and couldn't find a bar or café. Beautiful building and surroundings. We decided to go have a look at the terrace next to the car parking, to which there were also no clients only a couple of staff. One of these staff members "Raul" look at what seemed lost people "us" and approached one of us. We expected some nice service and suggestions but no quite the opposite. Extremely rude and cold, telling us we do not have the right to be there if we are not guests and that it is a private property. (ok, but normally outside guests can consume other hotels restaurants and bars) even still if no outside guests were allowed we could have said it in a nice and proper way. Anyways if this is the kind of staff and service we should expected we will not be staying here for sure. We also left quite after this as we did not feel welcomed or respected. For those looking for a peace and quite similar to this "5* star hotel" I suggest you look at Castillo Hotel Son Vida. You will see what true 5* service and staff it is.

Update to my review: I am giving this hotel a 1 star because they haven’t registered themselves as a Hyatt hotel so when they charge you for the stay, you don’t get any bonus points when using your Hyatt credit card with chase. They use a third party vendor to process their payments which is probably why this happens. Both World of Hyatt and Chase are absolutely useless in resolving this issue, but at the end of the day it’s the hotel’s fault because they are the ones who caused this issue and are refusing to resolve it.

Absolutely delighted to visit the hotel! We had a lovely tour around with Elena, who told us all about history of the place. Amazing atmosphere, history and refined mallorcan aesthetics together. As an addition, there’re special offers for residents and day passes. Totally recommend to spend at least a day there. Restaurant by Andreu Genestra (michelin star chef from Mallorca) is another gem of the hotel! If you’re planning your big day in Mallorca you can also consider the place, because there’s a chapel on the territory! Hotel is great for a romantic vacation or for a girls day out!

Beautiful, quiet hotel in the Mallorcan countryside. Service excellent, staff extremely helpful. No bun fights for sunbeds Relaxed and chilled vibe everywhere. If you want to see the island you need a car. If you stay for a week and are half board the food might feel a bit samey but this is a very small criticism. The food is superb and presented well.

The location is stunning. The rooms are kept very clean and pools are lovely. The spa experience with a hot stone was wonderful, and certainly a highlight. However, we booked because the website clearly states that vegans and vegetarians are catered for. This is true, if you like pasta, pasta or pasta. Abysmal choice, and I regretted that we had booked all inclusive from the first dinner. I even asked at check in if we could expect vegetarian and vegan options and I was told we could. There wasn't a single choice marked on the menu and when we asked what we could have, pasta was the only answer. Some of the staff are absolutely amazing, but the overall serice was not great. I don't blame any of the staff for this, as they are clearly heavily over-worked and also work very long days. It is a failing of the hotel, but still, it did result in moody and rude service sometimes and while it only made us empathise with them, it absolutely did retract from the experience as a guest. This, plus the complete absence of anything we could order on the menu, made us dread dinner times.
