Witsend
We booked a penthouse suite with a plunge pool at Zafiro Mallorca. The room was large and clean and our rooftop was huge! We had a bath, separate open walk in shower and toilet in a room with a door (not clear from photos on the websites) and the sink was separate outside the room. The plunge pool is not heated which meant it was cold on arrival but as the weather heated up over the week, it was much warmer. Food was as expected for an all inclusive at the buffet restaurant, a good selection of food with the usual children's options. The restaurant/bar by the pool has a good menu and cooks food to order at lunchtime and this was excellent. The pools were clean and every morning the cleaners washed the tiles around the sunbeds to ensure it was perfect. They also cleaned the pools every morning with nets ready for the day. The managers came out on a morning to ensure the sunbeds were not reserved and removed any towels that were left unattended. It is a shame this wasn't repeated through the day as it was very hard to get a sunbed after going out on a morning, but luckily, we had the rooftop sunbeds. Evening entertainment was hit and miss. Some acts were amazing, others were awful, again pretty standard for an all inclusive. The reception staff were lovely as were all the bar staff, waiters and entertainment team. The maids always spoke when passing and the staff all seem happy and approachable. Our son was too old for the mini club but the mini disco was good and had very enthusiastic staff! Location wise, the hotel is about a ten minute walk from the beach and shops. Perfect location. Mobility wise, the hotel is pretty much level, just a couple of stairs after reception, but there were more disabled friendly routes you could use if needed. The walk to the beach is slightly downhill and uphill coming back but not steep. We did dine out a few times in Can Picafort to vary our meals a bit and for a main and a round of drinks, this cost around 60-70 euros for three of us. We think the hotel deserves its 4 star rating. It really is a beautiful hotel with wonderful staff.

We had a fantastic stay at the hotel and loved every minute. The staff was very good, with great experiences throughout. A special shout out to Valentina and Annebelle from the entertainment team for making our children feel special and always having so much enthusiasm and energy. We loved that the hotel is set back from the resort centre on a fairly quiet road. There was therefore very little traffic or noise and it was quick for us to head out in our hire car.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Cleaners were very diligent and entertainment staff were really engaging. Pool areas were great for kids and kept clean and lifeguards always present. Overall had a fantastic stay. Only negative was lack of vegetarian options. There was pasta and pizza available every night but often this was the only vegetarian option. Even plain items would have meat on for no reason. There was steamed baby corn with chopped ham on. Beef mixed in plain quinoa… I know not everyone is vegan/ vegetarian and wasn’t expecting lots of options but should be at least one available each night. However, plenty of gluten free deserts available and staff were accommodating to our group’s allergies. Overall would stay here again.

Just returned from 7 nights at Zafiro Mallorca with my wife and two young children. Overall we had an excellent experience and would definitely recommend staying at this hotel and the resort of Can Picafort. The rooms are large in size and the beds were comfortable. I would say they are perhaps a bit dated and the decor is a little on the basic side but perfectly functional. The room we stayed on was on the ground floor and backed onto a small green space and then one of the roads. Not the nicest of views and as a result we didn't really spend any time on the balcony. Otherwise for our family the room was great, everyone slept well which is the most important thing! The pool areas are all really nice and there was plenty of sun beds and beach towels are complimentary and you can change them at least 3 times a week. The kids splash pool has plenty of slides for all ages and the main pool has plenty of shallower areas for children. The only negative I can say for the pool is it's not heated which means in the low season, when we stayed it's very cold and not ideal for the kids though they still got plenty of use from it! The biggest standout quality of this hotel was the service and the food/drinks. The buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner was varied and everything we ate was really good quality. The pool bar/a la carte restaurant food quality was outstanding, especially for an all inclusive the food was so tasty and varied. Branded drinks are available and the draught beer is Estrella, also really nice. The service everywhere is quick and efficient but also super friendly and the staff were all very patient with our daughter wanting to order her own drinks/food and practice her Spanish. We don't tend to return to any resort once we've stayed but I would have no hesitation in recommending this place for anyone with a young family or otherwise.

Visted Zafiro Malloraca for 10 nights with my partner and daughter. We also visited with my partners parents and her sister's family who both had separate rooms. We has asked for the same block which reception checked us all into rooms in block 1. I had paid slightly more to have a room with a private garden. Check in process was quick and easy. You pay a small check in tax which is standard for everyone. ROOM Room was spacious. A lounge area with a tv and sofa which also can fold out an extra bed if required. A kitchen area which has 2 hobs, a microwave, fridge and sink. Also provided is a toaster and kettle. Plates, cutlery and pots and pans all provided which is good if you want to make your own food. There is a bathroom which has a bath and walk in shower, plenty of space. The bedroom had a decent sized bed and it's own sliding door to a seating area outside. The mattress wasn't the most comfortable and the bed was on wheels. Every turn in the bed made a loud creeking noise but we didn't really have issues since we sleep well, but it may annoy someone who struggles with sleep. Overall, decor is basic and does the job for everything you need. The private garden was huge, with a hammock and 2 sun loungers. A great place for peace and quiet to enjoy the sun but also has an umbrella if you wanted some shade. This is where things went downhill. When we first got to our room the floor was dirty. It is completely tiled and our daughters socks where literally black. At the wardrobe there was a gap at the bottom and there was a load of ants coming in and out from under the cupboard. At the corner of the door there was also a spider egg with a spider coming out checking on it. My partner isn't great with insects so I went straight to reception to complain. Not ideal after travelling. The receptionist called and said maintenance will come and clear this for us right away. After 15 minutes the maid came with a pink liquid she poured down at the ants and she mopped the ants and spider egg away. Another 15 minutes and a maintenance man showed up with silicone to seal the gaps where ants has been coming out from. Gave it the night but unfortunately did not stop them. After 2 more visits to reception and the silicon man coming sealing more parts of the room, again we still had ants and spiders. I asked reception if it was possible to either downgrade to a room within the block and was not looking for any refund just a room without insects or an upgrade and I would pay more. I was told there was guests checking in that day so they would get back in touch and in meantime send the maintenance back out to try again. After 6 days into the 10, and having to get rid of the insects myself whenever they came out, the reception finally called me back to say they could offer me the same room but in a different block. I had asked to be within the same block where the rest of our family had rooms. I declined, I had now be dealing with them for 6 days and didn't see the point in shipping everything to a new block away from our family and might as well just deal with it for the last 3 nights as I had been doing. I also want to add that outside the room in the foyer there is an atrium with soil and trees. It doesn't look great and probably a large reason why so many insects are coming in. CONCLUSION Overall we did enjoy our 10 days in Can Picafort. Kids loved it. For us we were let down by the insects in the room and I don't think the hotel done a great job dealing with it considering I was willing to downgrade or upgrade to move room. Once we were in our room it felt they prioritised the guests arriving in coming days over guests already there. The hotel is rated 4 star but definitely felt more 3 star to me. Honest review, I would probably choose somewhere else if I return to Can Picafort.
