We stayed at X10 Khao Lak for 6 nights as a family and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is very family-friendly, yet maintains a calm and pleasant atmosphere that makes it equally enjoyable for couples and other guests. The staff were always attentive, warm and professional. The entire resort is beautifully maintained and thoughtfully designed. The multiple pools are a real highlight – because there are so many, it never feels crowded and there is always a relaxed place to swim or unwind. The beach is stunning and the sunsets are absolutely breathtaking. The food at the hotel was excellent and even more affordable than some of the nearby restaurants, which was a very pleasant surprise. One small improvement could be a more frequent shuttle service, even just up to the main road. Overall, a fantastic resort that we would happily recommend and would love to return to.

Rooms are nice and clean. Personally, I was not a fan of the frosted glass doors and window in the bathroom, for privacy reasons, as the window faces the bedroom. The breakfast buffet was excellent but the food from the menu was not as good, so I would stick to the buffets. There is a rule that you cannot “save” the chairs by the pools as the staff will remove towels and belongings, but it was never enforced so there were a few situations where the guests were upset with each other. It’s a big resort, so if you are looking for a quiet spot this is likely not the place for you. The saving grace for couples is the adult only pool. A big 5 star rating for Dennis (Concierge) and Mali (pool bar) for the excellent service. The beach is really nice. I would recommend renting a scooter as it is a long walk to restaurants and the market.

Recently had 10-night stay at X10 Khao Lak Resort hotel. Hotel is lovely, clean and in a great location. Room - We had a lovely room, overlooking the garden at the back of the hotel - albeit not in the block we had paid extra for (Deluxe Room, Beach Wing). Should have mentioned it at the time, but we'd had an epic journey beforehand and we were too tired to challenge. The most annoying thing was in the evening, around 5:30-6:30 the staff would knock with sweets and a flower - now as lovely as it seems. If we didn't open the door right away, they would let themselves in, which at this time of day I would say people are in their rooms getting showered etc for the evening; this I did not appreciate and found most annoying! Restaurant & Bar - We stayed on a B&B basis. Breakfast we really nice, well presented and lots to chose from. Hotel indicated quite & busy periods for restaurant. Bar area and staff could not fault. Prices are very reasonable too. Pools - I think there are 4 maybe, 5 pools. I only see 4, but there maybe another on the other side of the resort. The main one with the pool bar is adults only, which is great, but can get busy and If you want all day sun the bed areas are limited as there are lots of trees and you do lose sunlight around 4-5 due to large trees on the beach over shadowing the pool. The downside to the adults only pool is that it is very shallow at one end, which limits swimming area. Overall, it was a lovely hotel and would most definitely stay again.

We stayed at this hotel for two weeks. Long enough to check it out. The room is bizarre (ours was). It's spacious with a balcony, but the bathroom and toilet layout is simply stupid. The sink is integrated into the room (sic!). The toilet and shower are behind a sliding wall, which is admittedly matte, but when you turn on the light (which also activates the extractor fan...), the person in the room can see what's happening on the toilet. And hear it! Because this wall offers virtually no soundproofing. I've never seen anything so absurd anywhere, and my wife and I have been traveling the world for half a century. From a recreational perspective, it's excellent. 5 pools, a beautiful beach, and no problem accessing pool beds (before 9:00 AM). I've seen some truly bizarre complaints: the pool water is too warm (seriously!) – it's around body temperature. Every morning there's either stretching or some other form of exercise (yoga) – information at reception. There's also a spa and an exercise room with exercise equipment. There aren't many activities in the evenings. There are two performances (Polynesian and Thai dance) twice a week, the latter very weak, and one fireworks show (short), but nothing more. A plus is that the TV has an app (scroll down in the guide and enter the third app) that lets you connect your phone to the screen. This allows you to watch movies and series from Netflix or HBO on the big screen (SkyShowtime doesn't work in Thailand). Food: Breakfast is okay, but there's not much choice. We had a full board, so we tried three meals. Some reviews complain about the breakfast being crowded. With your room key card, you'll get the information: 6:30-8:00 (quiet), 8:00-9:00 (busy), 9:00-10:30 (very busy). And that's exactly what it is. We ate before 8:00. There were quite a few people, but it wasn't crowded. It's strange that the meal served by the waiters from the menu (very diverse, with large portions) is lunch. In the evening, just like in the morning, there's a buffet. So, those on half board will be a bit disadvantaged. In our opinion, all-inclusive is pointless if you're looking for interesting drinks. There are plenty of them, but you can barely taste the alcohol in them. Overall, the hotel is good, but a bit overpriced – in my opinion, the value for money is 4.5/6.

Fantastic hotel which improves every time we stay there (this was our 4th time). Excellent value for money for larger families. Great free amenities for families with children including several pools, a kids club, free meals for children eating with adults and more. We love the kids suite with separate rooms for parents and child-friendly rooms for kids. Outstanding food choice & quality for breakfast and (buffet) dinner. This year (even) more healthy eating options were added. The food is delicious, handled safely (there is an open kitchen which looks impeccably clean) and so reasonably priced that we never eat outside. Cleaning is of an exceptional standard. The hotel grounds are quite compact, but beautifully maintained and efficiently planned. Even when the hotel is full it does not feel crowded. Older children can be easily left unsupervised. There is also plenty to do for adults between the beach, adult pool, gym, spa, group sports classes and more. But what stands out the most are the hotel staff, who are so welcoming and do their utmost to make guests happy. They seem to genuinely love working there (also the hotel managers seem super kind and service-oriented, and by now we know them all personally), which is very nice to see. We also appreciate it that the staff does not change and they now feel like part of family. It is hard to name everyone without excluding someone, but my children have formed an especially close bond with Bell, Katay, May, Opor and Nanny, my mother appreciated a lot the support from Maxim, and my father loved aqua aerobics classes with Bilel. Also I have been coming to Thailand since 25 years and in my view it has much improved in terms of infrastructure, sustainability, animal cruelty and working conditions. This hotel is a good example of this improvement.
