We had a amazing stay at Wyndham Altra Punta Cana. The resort is clean, well maintained, and has a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable, and the overall layout of the property is well done. The staff throughout the resort was friendly and polite. In most of the theme restaurants, the service was warm and welcoming, but unfortunately very slow. Waiting times for ordering and food were quite long, even when the restaurants were not very busy, which took away from the dining experience. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and felt comfortable at the resort. With faster and more efficient service in the restaurants, this would be an even better experience.

I am just leaving Wyndham Alltra and headed for the airport and felt compelled to right this review while I’m able to remember names. We thoroughly had the best time at this resort and enjoyed every minute of the trip. The staff here go above and beyond. Highly recommend the king suite; it was spacious, comfortable and modern. We also had the VIP membership during the stay, which has great additional benefits. I cannot say enough about my experience with Steven at the front desk, who was great and very knowledgeable! By far, I must send a shout out to Rafael of CariBlue Pro Studio. I cannot say enough about how amazing of an experience it was. Rafael was patient and extremely kind. I ended with the best photos I have taken in a long time. I enjoyed the amenities here and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this resort. Cheers to a great trip!

The hotel is a bit older-looking, especially in the rooms, and the beds weren’t the softest—but they were still comfortable overall. This is definitely more of a family-oriented resort, and I visited as a couple. That said, we still had a great time because there was an adults-only bar open until 2 a.m., which we really enjoyed. The food was honestly the best I’ve had out of the three resorts I’ve stayed at. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with fresh donuts, breads, made-to-order omelets, and plenty of other options to choose from. The food at the restaurants was consistently good as well. We stayed during New Year’s, and they offered a four-course meal that was fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. One thing I really appreciated is that the resort doesn’t use wristbands or require reservations, so you don’t feel rushed or stuck eating at only one place at a time. The only downside was that the liquor felt watered down, and it took quite a few drinks to feel a buzz. Overall, the service was great, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating, which made the experience even better. The location is about 40-45 mins away from the airport. The water is beautiful but it's on the side of ocean that's not light blue it's darker

We are totally pleased and really happy with all the services this lovely resort offers. The food is amazing - fresh and delicious. The games and activities for the children are really engaging. Our kids had so much fun. The water park is excellent, the beach on the ocean has the most lovey scenery. And the infinity pool is the longest pool we’ve ever seen. All the details have been carefully thought through . The staff are the most polite and sweet people ever! Can’t wait to stay here again 😍 .

I’ll start this off by saying I am generally not someone who takes the time to write reviews, but in this case I feel the need to. I saw some negative reviews for this resort, but gave it the benefit of the doubt. I wish I had taken those reviews more seriously and hope anyone reading this does. THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL- 3/3.5 AT BEST!!!! Last year, we came to Punta Cana and stayed at the Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana. It was excellent and we really enjoyed it. The only reason we didn’t stay there again was because it was fully booked and we couldn’t get a room on the dates we wanted. For anyone looking for a true 5 star resort traveling with kids, go there instead!!! The food quality at Wyndham Alltra was poor and the selection was minimal. The first night after a long travel day we went to Bella, the Italian restaurant, and it was perhaps the worst take on an Italian restaurant I’ve ever experienced. The food was terrible and the service was awful. All of the waiters were confused at the simplest requests. I speak Spanish so it wasn’t due to a language barrier. The hibachi was good, nothing special but we enjoyed it especially after our dinner the night before. There were a few waiters and bartenders there who were very nice and accommodating, but the majority of the employees we encountered otherwise during our 6 days were very rude and not well trained. The selection of food options was very limited. Particularly between the hours of 11am-12:30pm— there was no food available other than the beach shack that had a small selection (quesadilla, burgers) that was poor quality and we didn’t want it every single day. Limited food options during these hours is very inconvenient especially when traveling with young children who typically have an early lunch before an afternoon nap. We also were hoping for somewhere to get ice cream after dinner, but that wasn’t an option. Bars close at 7pm, except for the small indoor bar at the VIP lounge which closes at 11pm. We traveled with our 2 year old, which is one of the reasons we chose this resort as it seemed like a very child friendly place. The water park was for older children but not advertised as such. Even the lazy river was too intense for our daughter. I thought they would have a small splash pad for littles but that wasn’t the case. The pool deck and general walking path throughout the resort is very slippery— it rained several times while we were there and we did not see any employees trying to clean up the puddles of water with a squeegee or anything. Even without the rain, puddles accumulate from the pool and we all slipped several times, thankfully we didn’t get hurt. We had a room that opened up to the pool, with lounge chairs in front of it. For 24 hours there were dirty towels, empty cups and food garbage on the ground outside our room by the lounge chairs that were left by other guests from the day before. I went to the VIP lounge TWICE and asked them to send someone to clean it, they never did. When the maid came to clean our room, we asked her if she could clean it and gave her a very generous tip for doing so. This shouldn’t be necessary, ESPECIALLY at a “5 star” resort. There are no umbrellas at the beach. Again, how is this considered a 5 star resort? It was advertised that they have a casino, but they don’t have one. I got a facial and massage at the spa. The massage was good, the facial was not a real facial. When I get a facial, I expect a steamer, extractions, various clean products and peels that actually help my skin. This was a very amateur take on a facial, they put a couple different lotions on my face that were extremely fragrant and didn’t do anything good for my skin. In general, the quality of this resort is 3/3.5 stars. Absolutely not a 5 star resort.
