The hotel is stunning but the service needs major improvements. In our villa, the fridge, the outdoor shower, the scale, and the coffee machine were not working upon check in. We had maintinance visits every single day. In addition, the bikes used to go around the islands were delivered to us with totally flat tires two separate times. Finally, marble from the mini bar fell on our son’s feet when he opened the drawer on our last day. Absolutely terrible maintenance and no where near a 5 star standard. Managers did nothing about this, unlike other luxury hotels who would have at least offered some sort of compensation as a curtesy for the inconvenience we faced. We will not be returning to this hotel because if we pay a premium price we expect premium maintenance and service.

Our stay at the Conrad Maldives two years ago set a high standard for luxury resorts, but our recent visit to the Waldorf Maldives exceeded all expectations. From the warm welcome upon arrival to the fond farewell at departure, every aspect of our experience was exceptional, including the daily service, phenomenal breakfast buffet, and genuine care for guests' well-being.
A memorable moment was when we returned from a nurse shark snorkeling tour with stings from plankton. To our delight, upon entering our room, we discovered cortisone cream provided to alleviate the discomfort. Such thoughtful gestures truly showcased the level of care at the Waldorf Maldives.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Hazuki and the entire hotel staff for transforming our vacation into a truly unforgettable experience. Thank you!

I would like to pursue my complaint about Waldorf Astoria Maldive, they made a last minute cancellation on our two rooms reservation made about a year ago for our special occasion . We received the email cancellation on the two rooms about 12 hours before our arrival.
In exchange for their cancellation their option was also limited for guests to choose from. Either less tier property or other less tier property compare to WA. and no welcome back vouchers were willingly given to us as apology.
No, we do not like their choice of Conrad Maldive due to our prior stay years ago , and no, their offer to another property was not up to par with WA Maldive tier. But left us no choice to go with.
Even though they have refunded us the points for the entire stay, this was not enough due to long time arrangement and painstakingly checking everyday for Hilton honor points stay as its popular destination and hardly availability with points stay.
We have traveled far from the USA to Maldive for my parents special occasion for a luxury stay at WA Maldive , everything was planned out a year ago, imagined i have to let my parents wife and kids down from a higher expectation not able to stay??!? this is not something a luxury hotel brand such as WA should do at all .
While exchage phone call and emails, i was also the one proactively seeking our their decision , their rsv manager Adam Areef is terrible at responding back and hardly let me know what's going on or willing to work out the options with me . Terrible terrible customer service.

We stayed at Waldorf right after we spent five days at Ritz Carlton, so we arrived with high expectations and Waldorf did not disappoint. The exceptional experience started with their seamless transfer from MLE with their luxury yacht, to being greeted by our wonderful butler Zak. Zak is very friendly, informative and always replying with a confirmation or solution promptly, he made us feel welcome and important.
Every staffs we met at the resort and made they made us feel home. Even the smallest villa starts at 3000 sq ft, it was so spacious it felt like home. Their communications between different teams is outstanding. Even a small inconvenience will be communicated to the manager’s supervisor and back to our butler to make sure guests is well taken care of. although there are over 100 villas on the island, you rarely see other guests so it all felt very secluded and private. We had the pleasure of spending a night at the Stella Maris villa, it is one of the few two stories over the water bungalows in Maldives and OMG, it is stunning and spectacular! We will definitely come back to stay there again.
The dinning options are also very good, Terra which is the bird nest restaurant is very unique and the set menu there is a true culinary experience. We also enjoyed the breakfast very much, lots of variety.
The resort offers regular photo shoots and flying dress photoshoot, which my husband and I had a great time doing. Our photographer Tholwwa and his assistant were very professional and made it comfortable and non awkward for people who are not used to doing photoshoot. Plus, the entire hotel is beautiful so we had lot of good backdrop. Tholwwa also did a great job taking our photo and editing, we got our pictures back very fast and they look great! Great choice to document memories and take home as a souvenir.
Leaving the hotel was also seamless, we had a late night flight leaving MLE, our wonderful butler Zak offered us a late check out and arranged a later yacht transfer for us so we did not have to hangout at the airport for hours. This is the type of luxury experience that I have not had with other resort.
Upon arriving the airport, the Waldorf airport staff Nashid, also made a memorable experience for us that, he was not just there to escort us to the airline counter, but he stayed extra long to accompany us and make sure we receive our boarding pass and helped us with the luggages the moment we disembarked the yacht to when we walk to the gate. His professionalism also well represent the level of importance the guests are to the resort. Exceptional!

We had a magical stay end of last year. Everything was excellent, from the island itself, the hotel, the service, our concierge Anastasia, and housekeeping, Ismail. Every detail is thought after at Waldorf Astoria Maldives to make the experience extraordinary.
