We spent 10 days at the Gran Marbella Resort in May. It was actually quite deceiving as the place does not match with a 5-star hotel at all as I have stayed in many hotels of that category in Spain before, and this one is definitely overpriced for what it actually offers.. The food we tested at the bar and ordered with room service was below average for freshness and quality (pasta overcooked, mussels were smelly and I didn't touch them), especially for dinner. Breakfast buffet was also very ordinary and did not match the comments I had read from other guests, as the diversity of food was not that large especially for fruit choice (orange, watermelon, melon, papaya, kiwi, pineapple sliced every day same). They added a few strawberries twice during our stay. Mostly fit for spanish taste maybe with very salty hams, sausages and mantego cheese as the best part if your blood pressure allows to eat a lot of that. You have to order coffee every time, as they have not installed self service coffee machines and the coffee is very bitter and much worse than the Nespresso capsules I drink at home. Service was not great either. Minimal information provided upon arrival, so we had to figure it out by ourselves. Staff do not know much of hotel details and seem to ignore clients with limited language capacity if your spanish is too poor, they don't understand. We experienced many noise issues with electric systems at night in the room and an old phone set was beeping constantly with no clear reason and they were unable to fix it. Outside parking is very limited and always full, unless you opt for the €30 underground parking which in the middle of nowhere in a suburban district 10 km away from downtown Marbella is unbelievably expensive. Some limited spots in the streets around, though it is not so easy to find. Swimming pools were not heated and remained very cold around 23°-24°C making pool experience a bit... chilly. So guests just lie around the pool for sunbathing or reading mostly. Gardens are pretty small around the pools with a few plants and trees around. Room comfort was ok but we could hear trucks moving around very often at day as the hotel delivery platform was just below and there is a construction site just across the street. The Beach Club is the only area with a 27°C heated pool but access is allowed for guests for a €50 fee every day. I didn't dare ask if that was per person or per room, but I am pretty sure of the answer. So the experience was not so good for €500 room, you expect a memorable experience and at least a heated pool and good food.

Our first visit to Marbella and our first stay at the Gran Marbella Hotel & Beach Club was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we stepped out of the car, we were welcomed so warmly by the staff and instantly made to feel relaxed and valued as guests. Check-in was smooth and professional, and being greeted with a glass of champagne on arrival was a fantastic touch that immediately set the tone for the weekend. The level of service throughout our entire stay was genuinely outstanding. Every single member of staff we encountered was friendly, attentive, and couldn’t do enough to help. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and the attention to detail across the hotel was incredibly impressive. It’s rare to stay somewhere where the service consistently exceeds expectations, but this hotel managed exactly that. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning. The design, layout, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere create a real luxury experience while still feeling comfortable and relaxing. Every area of the hotel is beautifully maintained, from the rooms and pool areas to the restaurants and beach club. The location is also perfect, allowing you to fully enjoy everything Marbella has to offer while still feeling peaceful and exclusive. We booked this trip for a long weekend of rest and relaxation, and it delivered exactly what we needed. The atmosphere around the hotel was calm and luxurious, making it very easy to completely switch off and enjoy every moment. Whether relaxing by the pool, enjoying the beach club, or simply taking in the surroundings, everything felt effortless and high quality. This was genuinely one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had, and we honestly could not fault a single thing during our stay. A huge thank you to all of the staff for making our first Marbella trip so memorable. 10/10 in every aspect, and we are already in the process of planning our return very soon.

The hotel is truly worth recommending, I’m incredibly happy that we chose to stay there. First of all, and most importantly for us, it’s very quiet and peaceful, making it a perfect place to relax. The gardens are stunning, and the hotel itself is very modern and beautifully designed. Another highlight was the breakfast, it was absolutely delicious. There’s a menu, but also a buffet, and we enjoyed literally everything. Breakfast is served outdoors in a beautiful setting with a view, it’s simply amazing. We also had lunch there, which was really tasty. The service throughout the hotel was impeccable, both in the restaurant and in the lobby. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such a perfectly cleaned room anywhere before too. In the evening, the room is prepared for sleep with a little chocolate on the pillow, a very premium touch. We also used the beach club, which was booked for us by email. It was free of charge for hotel guests, and that was another great experience! Overall, we only stayed at the hotel for two days, but we enjoyed many of its amenities, and we can recommend this place 100%. It’s a top-level hotel that offers peace, relaxation, and the highest standard.

★★★★★ We spent five days at the Gran Marbella Resort as a family with a nearly adult teenage son, which worked perfectly in this refined adults oriented setting. From the very first moment it was clear that this is a truly special place. The light filled architecture creates an immediate sense of calm and understated elegance. Our two connecting rooms, including the studio, with views stretching all the way to the sea, were exceptionally spacious and beautifully appointed. The materials throughout are of outstanding quality, the furniture carefully selected and refined, and the minibar thoughtfully curated. Every element follows a coherent design concept. Nothing feels interchangeable or overly decorative. The rooms have character, style and a quiet confidence that is rare to find. What truly sets this resort apart, however, is the service. There is a genuine commitment to excellence throughout the entire team. Every member of staff, regardless of department, is attentive, professional and naturally warm. We also greatly appreciated the evening turn down service, where the beds are carefully prepared for the night. It is a classic touch of hospitality that has become uncommon and makes a noticeable difference. The culinary experience is equally impressive. Dinner at the restaurant was outstanding, with high quality ingredients and precise execution. Breakfast is simply exceptional, with an extensive selection and a team that is remarkably attentive without ever being intrusive. The fitness studio is another highlight. It is exceptionally well equipped with high end machines and offers a bright, motivating environment that goes far beyond the usual hotel gym standard. For me personally, the stay was particularly meaningful because I live with coeliac disease. Even in top tier hotels, this can be challenging. Here, I felt completely safe. The team handled everything with genuine care and reliability, which allows true relaxation. A hotel with distinct character, consistent quality and a clear sense of style. We will most certainly return.
Mr Smith
Fantastic hotel. Rooms are spacious with separate bath/shower. Breakfast was both of the menu and buffet and a good selection for lunch/daytimes (we didn’t have dinner there) Very relaxed atmosphere throughout. The only downside for us was the service throughout the day at the 2 outside bars was very laid back despite the hotel appearing not to be full. Could be the only person at the bar and having to wait 10 mins plus to be served. Reception and breakfast times were fine
