We travel to many all inclusive's and Unico 2087 in Riviera Maya is by far one of my favorites. The resort is perfect if you want a quiet and tranquil experience with good food, drinks and excellent service. It's not a party scene but can enjoy a good time in the 3 pools, beach is swimmable, and good entertainment for an enjoyable stay. The Food and beverage manager Carlos went over and above to ensure we had a great culunary experience every night and took a mixology class which was fun. The resort works hard to keep the beach clean, and there is a location with minimal rocks so you can enjoy going into the water. The service was exceptional, everyone is happy you are there and makes you feel welcome, especially the Butlers, Eduardo and Carlos were amazing!!! The only downside was the spa / hydrotherapy was a little under whelming. For a new resort was expecting a larger and better experience.

Long-time Legendary member here (22 years). I was supposed to stay at the new Unico Nayarit, but my confirmed reservation was cancelled only a month before arrival because the entire resort was bought out. That created a lot of stress — but Unico Riviera Maya still delivered a fantastic stay thanks to the amazing people who work here. My butlers Israel and Roger were outstanding and absolutely saved this trip. Spa was wonderful (thank you Liliana, Victor and Yolanda). Dining remains incredible — Mura House is a must, and Angel makes the experience next-level. Avec also deserves recognition — perfect chilled red wine service and excellent food. Areas to improve: lunch options are limited without a buffet, and pool/beach staffing felt stretched — slower than previous years in HOF sections. This is not the fault of the workers — they are doing their best — it’s a management staffing issue. Still — the staff here is exceptional, the resort is beautiful, and I will return. I just hope management invests in staffing and guest trust going forward. Was here for a 5 night stay. Rooms and grounds were beautiful and clean. Service was great and very attentive however, upon arrival to the hotel a member from the vacation department named Legendary checked us in instead of an employee at the hotel in which we didn’t find out until later on during the stay. When we were checking in she offered to have our excursion compensated and said it was because of our honeymoon and made it like they were trying to do something nice for us. We then decided to cancel the excursion and said she would handle it for us but instead got charged a no show fee because she never canceled it. This is beyond her help because she is infect not an employee at the hotel and lied to us and actually works for Legendary Vacation Membership. She roped us in to be a part of their membership and made my husband I sit through a presentation that lasted over 4 hours but said would be an hour at most an hour and a half. We spent our entire day stuck in the salesroom at the headquarters of the vacation club which is on the second floor of our hotel. We were unable to leave and the Legendary vacation club sales team were extremely pushy and pressuring to recruit us to the membership that they needed 5 different sales associates including supervisors, managers and people from higher up to force us/pressure us to sign a deal. At this time they were also feeding my husband alcoholic beverages causing him to be intoxicated. They also wouldn’t let us speak amongst each other or decide at a later time during the trip whether we would be interested and was a now or never offer. This is not how I envisioned my stay to be and is extremely unfortunate that the hotel is affiliated with this horrible Vacation group because the hotel itself is actually amazing. Beware of the Legendary Vacation Club scams!

Excellent facilities and amenities. It feels like a 5-star hotel. We committed ourselves to staying here. My boyfriend planned the trip for this reason and tried to contact the hotel to plan the proposal (hire a photographer, get suggestions for locations, etc.), but they were unable to connect him or offer any help before we arrived. Upon arrival, we were treated very well and he was able to coordinate the photo shoot with the personal concierge. Stephanny (the photographer) provided us with great service and the photos turned out beautiful. She guided us very well during the session and offered us several locations. The food was of excellent quality and they have a wide variety of options at the pools, food restaurant, and dinner restaurants. Breakfast is the only meal with a limited variety of options. The rooms were nicely decorated and clean upon arrival, but they did not clean the room, make the bed, or change the towels on the second day. We had to ask the concierge on the third day to have the room cleaned and the sheets changed. We spent a special and important moment here, and the people who welcomed us knew the reason for our trip. Despite this, we did not receive any special attention for having chosen this place to celebrate a unique, special, and unrepeatable moment, which disappointed us greatly. It should be noted that the day they did not clean our room was the day of the engagement (which they knew was going to happen that day). The service we received at the restaurants and pools was excellent. Very attentive, communicative, friendly, and helpful. Congratulations to the crew at these establishments.

Absolutely terrible experience I don’t know where these 5 stars are staying but it’s not this place. A few quick touch points: The hallways were filthy, I had a chocolate stain outside my room for 3 days. Constantly saw food all over the floor from animals getting into the room service trays. You cannot get a meal at a restaurant for dinner! Two weeks before staying we tried to make reservations, were told it was too early. We arrived to make reservations and were told every restaurant was booked until 9:30pm every night we were here. At 7:15pm we tried to walk in and spent 40 minutes going to every restaurant and were turned away. For an all inclusive we struggled to get fed at a reasonable hour!! They rationed our guacamole by the pool. They gave us about a tablespoon for 3 of us and when we asked for more we were told no and we had to wait. I have never heard of an all inclusive telling us no for food! When we did the get fed the food was garbage: room service was always cold. The potato leek vegan soup was 7 pieces of freeze dried potatoes the size of my pinky finger and a pitch of Luke warm unseasoned soy milk. The vegetable panini I ordered at the pool was so dry it crumbled when I tried to pick it up. I survived on cheese and mushroom quesadillas which came with a teaspoon of guacamole. Finally, I paid for an ocean view room and was placed over a smoking section so everytime I opened my balcony door smoke entered my room. Absolutely ridiculous. We went to the concierge to complain and were basically told there was nothing they could do. So many more little things that pissed me off. The one positive is the employees in the jewelry store were LOVELY, especially Miguel! He spent the time to tell me the history of each piece I was interested in. Other than Miguel, this place is a rip off. Do not stay here if you want to eat!
