Stayed in the Trop for the last time. It was a bit of a nostalgia stay for me, since I have been staying here for 20 years. Several reviews describe poor conditions or experience. Mine was great. Check in service was great, dealers were friendly, room was very clean. For the price, and location, it was the best option. True the parking garage is a bit of a walk. But so is every other resort, just through the casino instead of around the side of the building.

This hotel was a joke. Let’s start with the outside. It was completely dilapidated, with paint peeling, the window shutters falling off, tiny windows, making the rooms, dark and drab. Zoom in on my photo. Those windows are not open, it is the outside covers falling off. The rooms were outdated and smelled musty from years of cigarette, smoke liquor and possibly poor cleaning. The mattresses were comfortable and the sheets were clean. The shower barely trickled out. The obsolete wooden slats over the windows made the room devoid of light. They were thick and heavy, and would stick when we tried to open them. The staff were rushed. When we asked questions about places to eat or Hilton Honors, since this is a Hilton affiliate hotel, they had no clue what we were talking about. Most spoke little English. One staff member said they would bring up, a blanket and some water bottles so we didn’t have to come down and get them, nobody ever came. Many of the restaurants inside the hotel were closed, or had strange hours. The pool was closed the entire time we were there, which we were never told. Be prepared for a long walk from the front desk to reach the elevators for your room. At least the elevators were fast. The hotel is located at the very far end of the strip. It has no shuttle from the airport and the monorail doesn’t come to Tropicana. This hotel may have been amazing back in the 50s and 60s, but now it is a thing of the past. Luckily, it is up for demolition next year. We found out that the price we paid for this room was equal to the room price of quite a few other hotels.

I was surprised how clean it was. It looks better on the inside than out. I like the location of this place but I don’t like the parking situation for guest. Depending where you stay it can be quite a walk. I had bad service at the public house restaurant Saturday afternoon nobody came to my table so I walked out. Being this was the only rest. Open in morning I sat at the bar and it was such different vibe. All were helpful. The ladies in check in counter were the best! Good for one night stay

Visited Tropicana from Australia. Please PLEASE save your money and your health, stay somewhere else. We were there for 3 days, no maid visit even after requesting towels and sheets on the middle day. But had a nice early wake up from a maid at 5am the next morning. The bathrooms have no ventilation, the wallpaper is peeling off. And there is black mould growing. You pay a hefty resort fee but the pool is out of action and 1 of 4 elevators work. We were “blessed” with a refund of 1 nights stay, just save yourself the hassle and money. Do not recommend.

Stopped in 2 days before it closed. I've never been to the Tropicana but it was a very nice Casino. Very clean and surprisingly modern. It's sad to know such a beautiful Casino is closing/ being destroyed but that's progress I guess
