This little island in the Maldives is an amazing place to forget about everything and relax! The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean, and the food is delicious. It is very peaceful. We did not want to leave! We will never forget our stay at Thulhagiri, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone. Definitely deserves a 5 star rating!

Honestly, I don´t really know how you can give Thulhagiri 5 stars - probably haven´t seen other islands on the Maldives yet. Literally nothing on this island is Maldivian, and you will never get a Maldivian dish to enjoy, or whatever else might be considered local - because that´s not the concept. You get more or less European food, with here and there some touch of curry and kinda-asian food. It´s mostly cooked okay, but nothing that special. If you want to have something special: start with the desserts right away! The beach massively comes and goes, and the current is mostly rather strong so swimming where you cannot stand anymore doesn´t work at all without fins, and with fins is also exhausting. The reef is pretty dead, you won´t find much nice coral anymore, also because enough tourists step onto them and kill the bit that´s still left. The local turtle is cool though, and you will be seeing plenty of fish if you go all around the island. The only special thing and what´s amazing is the staff - everyone is amazingly nice, always helpful and wants you to have an amazing time no matter how long the week alrady has been or no matter how long the shift on the day already has been. And by the time you leave, they feel like family.

Review: We recently stayed at this hotel in the Maldives and while the experience had many highlights, there were also a few issues that left us disappointed. Cons: The hotel features a parrot sanctuary, which at first seemed like a beautiful idea. However, we witnessed a very upsetting situation: one of the parrots was lying on the ground, clearly sick and too weak to get up. When we reported this, we received conflicting answers from the staff—some said there was no caretaker, others said there was, but they weren’t available. At the reception, we were told, “Yes, we know there’s a dead parrot there.” I explained it was still alive but unable to move. Eventually, someone came, but unfortunately he didn’t inspire much trust. He refused to hold the bird with his hands, used a leaf to pick it up, started pulling its feathers, and then walked away with the bird. We never saw it again. Frankly, we’re not convinced the parrots are actually being taken care of properly. Despite having a medical clinic on site, we were surprised that they didn’t have even basic medication for diarrhea. Also, we were informed of our departure time to the airport only the day before leaving. Then, on the day of departure, we were told to be ready 1.5 hours earlier due to the weather—without any prior notice. What’s worse, we had paid an extra $100 to extend our stay that day. There was no compensation or apology. This is not the way to treat guests. The hotel itself is beautiful but could use some maintenance. Mr. Manager, someone needs to walk through the resort and check where small repairs are needed—maybe a board needs to be fixed, or a door frame adjusted. These are small things, but they matter and should be taken care of regularly. Pros: The food was excellent—very tasty and varied. The restaurant staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Fantastic location with stunning views.

All inclusive does not mean all inclusive😐: No types of coffee No ginger ale Cocktails are mixed with powder, disgusting. They absolutely want you to buy everything separately or pay for it again. The bed is very hard and uncomfortable. -If you arrive at 6 a.m. there is no breakfast and a room only from 12 p.m -If your flight is in the evening, you will no longer receive lunch for the same day Garbage and plastic bottles are simply burned on the island😖 They don't care about environmental protection at all, very very sad.
