All in one we had a memorable lovely stay here at Westin Langkawi. We got upgraded to a nice suite and also had some other Marriott member benefits like a daily free cocktail at Breeze Lounge or an invitation to a Cocktail Festive with free snacks and drinks. Ruben, the guy at the bar, was ready to give you like a personal gin tasting and mixed every drink of our desire. Also he gave us some recommendations for drinks and dine in in Langkawi and Singapore. Great guy! At first we had some cleanliness issues with our bathroom, but as we complained it, it was cleaned really quick. The service overall is good and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, but unfortunately only inside seating capabilities. Outside would be better for those ones who like it a little bit more quiet. But there is one thing: I can't understand why the prices of the drinks and also food are soooo expensive. You are able to eat and drink very cheap outside of the resort, so why buy the expensive food and drinks? Maybe the people would be ready to eat and drink at the resort with some more affordable prices.

The Westin Langkawi stands out for its beautiful, spacious grounds and stunning seaside location. The resort offers a calm and relaxing atmosphere, making it an ideal place to unwind. Thanks to my Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite status, I received an upgrade to an Oceanfront Suite. However, this upgrade was only granted after multiple follow-ups, which slightly affected the initial arrival experience. Once received, the suite itself was spacious and offered a wonderful ocean view. The breakfast selection is overall decent but leaves room for improvement. For a resort of this caliber, a wider variety and more consistent quality would be appreciated. There was a minor cleanliness issue in the room, but it was handled immediately and very professionally by the extremely friendly and attentive Front Office Manager, which I truly appreciated. As a Bonvoy member, I was invited to the Cocktail Hour, which was one of the highlights of the stay. The quality and selection of spirits were excellent. A special mention goes to Ruben, the bartender, who made the evening truly special. His warm personality and impressive knowledge of cocktails created a fantastic and memorable experience. Unfortunately, I have to deduct one star due to the overpriced food and beverage offerings throughout the resort, which did not always feel in line with the overall value. Overall, The Westin Langkawi is a beautiful resort with strong service moments and great potential. With some adjustments, especially in pricing and breakfast variety, it could deliver an outstanding luxury resort experience.

The hotel is absolutely amazing, and all the staff are incredibly helpful. Most importantly, everything is done with a genuine smile. Although the hotel is a bit older, everything is maintained at a very high standard. We truly enjoyed our stay here. Our stay at The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa was truly relaxing and memorable. The resort is beautifully set along the bay, offering stunning sea and mountain views that instantly put you in holiday mode. The grounds are expansive, lush, and well maintained, making it easy to enjoy slow walks and peaceful moments throughout the day. The pools are a major highlight — spacious, clean, and never felt overcrowded. The rock pool and infinity-style areas were perfect for lounging, while still being family-friendly. Direct beach access is another plus, with calm waters and gorgeous sunsets that are ideal for evening strolls and photos. Our room was comfortable and thoughtfully laid out, with the signature Westin Heavenly Bed living up to its name. While the property is more established than some newer resorts, everything was clean and well cared for, and the comfort more than made up for the mature décor. Choosing a sea-view room is highly recommended for the views alone. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options catering to different tastes, including Asian, Western, and healthier choices. Dining around the resort was convenient, and the relaxed atmosphere made every meal enjoyable. What truly stood out was the warmth and professionalism of the staff. From check-in to housekeeping, everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to help, which made the stay feel effortless and welcoming. Overall, The Westin Langkawi is ideal for couples, families, or anyone looking for a comfortable, scenic, and stress-free resort experience. It may not be ultra-modern, but it delivers where it matters most — service, comfort, location, and atmosphere. We would happily return and highly recommend it.

UPDATE: ​I would like to provide an update regarding my previous review. Following our complaint about the cleanliness of the room, the management took swift and decisive action. The housekeeping team performed a very thorough deep-cleaning, and the Head of Housekeeping personally reached out to apologize and verify that the room met the expected standards. ​In addition to addressing the issue, the hotel provided a very kind gesture by placing a bottle of wine and a beautiful bouquet of flowers in our room. We truly appreciate this thoughtful touch and are grateful for the hospitality. ​If the room had been in this pristine condition upon our arrival, I would have certainly given a 5-star rating from the start. Nevertheless, we are now very satisfied with how the situation was handled. ​Thank you to the team at The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa for your professional service and for ensuring we had a pleasant stay. 1/5 Stars: A Total Disgrace – My 50th Birthday Ruined by Filth and Deception ​Subject: Worst Value for Money – 5-Star Prices for 2-Star Quality ​I booked this hotel months in advance specifically to celebrate a major milestone: my 50th birthday. I took the time to email the hotel beforehand to request a room without a connecting door. They responded promptly, confirming they would accommodate my request. Based on this, we arrived with high expectations, looking forward to a celebratory stay. ​Deception at Check-in and Room Condition ​Upon arrival, the receptionist assured me: "You have a beautiful room, and it has no connecting door." This turned out to be a blatant lie. ​As soon as I entered, I was hit by a revolting smell. ​The walls and doors were covered in grime and visible dirt. ​The bed linens and towels were stained and smelled unwashed. ​To my outrage, the room did have a connecting door. ​When I immediately demanded a room change, explaining that I did not pay for a "low-cost" experience, both the receptionist and the manager refused my request. They claimed a change was only possible the next day. After a grueling 20-hour flight, we were forced to accept their "compromise": a linen change and a complimentary dinner. However, the room offered the next day was in the exact same deplorable state—filthy walls and doors. ​15 Years of Neglect ​It is evident that no money has been spent on maintenance or refurbishing for at least 15 years. The state of the furniture is shameful: ​There isn't a single chair, armchair, or sunbed that isn't covered in deep, disgusting stains. ​You cannot sit anywhere without feeling repulsed or worrying that the greasy, dirty spots will ruin your clothes. ​The management should invest in an industrial wet-cleaning machine; it would go a long way in addressing the filth that has clearly accumulated over a decade. ​Hygiene in the Restaurant and Common Areas ​The lack of cleanliness is systemic: ​In the restaurant, the cutlery and glasses were dirty, and the floor was literally sticky with filth. ​The carpets in the hallways, the chairs, and the general upholstery are a disgrace to any establishment claiming to have five stars. ​The photos on the official website are a complete fabrication and bear no resemblance to the current reality of the hotel. ​Final Verdict: A Major Disappointment ​I am currently counting down the moments until I can leave this place after a one-week stay. This hotel charges 5-star prices for 2-star service. It is, without a doubt, the worst value for money I have ever encountered. ​To save my 50th birthday and enjoy the luxury I actually paid for, we were forced to book a room at the Dana Hotel, which provides true 5-star service. The housekeeping management and leadership here need to be entirely reconsidered. They don't offer upgrades; they offer downgrades. Do not book here!
