Just came back from verandah Antigua ,Staying for 8 days , it was vacation for my family me my husband and my son, First from check in the staff not friendly at all usually every resort in Caribbean I visit the serve you welcoming drink when we arrived they ask us oh do you want drinks? I think because from all air Canada flight just our family stay in this resort so it was just our family in check in. because after 2 days we saw group arrive and they serve them drinks ,room service it’s good clean , pools it’s very poor service with this kind of luxury resort the main pool they have 2 basketballs one it’s get flat no air from second day we arrived no body care about it we told the staff he Kisangani oh we can’t do any thing we have to contact the company and we have to do new order its long process imagine they have ordered just 2 for all gusts so if the second one get damaged there is no basketball game . Now the restaurant not a lot of options just 2 restaurants and pizza place the staff of both restaurants not friendly at all service very bad , buffet staff super friendly , In the end this resort it’s not worth the money we spend which is a lot so I am not going to recommend it to any body . For sure I visit antique again loved the island but staying in different resorts ,

The Verandah is a beautiful resort. The breaches have soft white sands and the water is warm and not calm, nestled in bay areas. We enjoyed Kayaking and paddle boarding on the calm waters. The main pool is quite large and accommodating. There are smaller pools located throughout the resord when you want to escape the crowds. Lunch and dinner in the main area are good - many food choices. Dinner in the restaurants is excellent. For those not into water activities, the full course mini-golf area keeps the family entertained for hours.

We had a great stay here in 2022 during Covid. The rooms are clean and well appointed, with ocean views. The food was authentic and very good, if you have ever had the chance to taste Goat Water you will know how great the local cuisine is in Antigua... Fantastic flavours. We made a comment to one of our servers that the music being played at the resort was American, not Antiguan in any way and that we appreciate local culture and music when we visit other countries. The next morning the GM of the resort sat down with us and asked us about our thoughts in this regard. The next morning at breakfast they were playing Soca (a local favourite music) and reggae (tourist could relate to). Good for them for doing their best... And good for us for enjoying this great experience at this resort. Would highly recommend this resort to anyone. Robert Barrett was on site personally managing everything, good on him. We appreciated it all.

We are leaving our holiday here today after 10 nights and we have had an amazing time and are very sad to be going home! The food, location, resort and facilities are fantastic. The upkeep and maintenance are always being done with staff always around gardening, painting etc. The rooms are beautiful and air conditioning is very good and a welcome relief! Activities were great and not forced upon you, only if you wanted to take part. Huge effort goes into the evening events, like the beach party etc. The only downsides for us were some of the scheduled activities didn't take place because of the laidback approach and staff were mostly lovely but some of them were not particularly friendly. However this was very minor in comparison to the overall experience and does not change our 5 star review. We would most definitely recommend.

The Verandah Antigua gave us our perfect honeymoon! Privacy: The suites have two rooms to a building, so you don't have the noise and crowding of a standard hotel. The rooms feel private and quiet, and come with your own private balcony section. We got the superior waterfront king room, and highly recommend it- you can't beat the view! Cleanliness: Every inch of the property was spotless. Even the bathrooms at the beaches and the pools were immaculate. Property: The landscaping is beautiful. You're surrounded by palm and banana trees, making you feel like you are in your own tropical paradise. It's also rather spread out, so if you like walking, you can stay active. If you have mobility challenges or are tired, they have golf carts and you can request a ride at any time. Crowds & Noise: Even though it is a large resort, it never felt crowded. There were always beach and pool chairs available. Even the large dining hall was never packed or noisy. The fact that it is adults only also helps with the relaxed, romantic feel. Activities: They have thought of plenty of activities so you will never be bored. Between the two beaches, water sports, multiple pools, fitness center, spa, restaurants, game areas, tennis and pickle ball quarts, mini golf, and a full schedule of daily activities, you will run out of time before you run out of things to do. And even if you do get stir crazy, there are many great options for excursions, with knowledgeable staff to help you pick out what you are looking for (shout out to Gem!) Staff: All the staff were wonderful. Everyone was kind and professional. Food: We can't finish a review without talking about the food. They have options for every diet/preference. The buffet is amazing! Everything was DELICIOUS, cooked to perfection, at the perfect temperature. For example, for breakfast you can get everything from your standard pancakes or gluten free muffins for breakfast, to more adventurous local options like steamed plantains and salt fish and ackee. Overall: We cannot recommend the Verandah enough. We will certainly be back!
