We loved our stay at The Slate! It’s part of the same group as the Public House Hotel in Bangkok, which we already loved and, once again, everything was perfect. The staff are super friendly and helpful, the whole property is beautifully designed and every little detail matches the hotel’s unique style. The rooms are spacious and spotless, and the facilities are amazing: three different pools, all surrounded by nature. There are several restaurants inside the hotel and the food is delicious. Plus, you have a well equipped gym. The location is also great, right next to the beach. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay - highly recommend!

I stayed at this hotel last week and had an overall fantastic experience. The hotel is beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the food was absolutely delicious. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, cheerful, and eager to help — their service truly made my stay special. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, and the wine selection complemented the meals perfectly. The only downside was that the adults-only pool was almost always full, so it wasn’t easy to enjoy a quiet swim. The only thing that left me a little disappointed was the security guard at the beach gate. He kept asking if I was really staying at the hotel when I returned from having dinner with friends nearby. I completely understand that it’s his responsibility to ensure guests’ safety, but simply asking to see my room key or hotel card would have been sufficient Despite that small incident, everything else was wonderful — great food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. I would definitely love to come back again!

I couldn't agree more with the positive reviews for The Slate. From first enquiry to checking out, everything was above and beyond - with so many little, thoughtful extras that we appreciated. All kudos to the GM, who is a discreet presence with his finger clearly on the pulse. Black Ginger is a must try at this hotel - definitely on the 'Experience' list. I recommend you book directly through the hotel. I'm typically a third party booking user but the hotel's offer was unbeatable. I hope they never change their packages because we plan to be back! Wish list for next time - fresh mango and an inviting gluten free section at breakfast Thank you to all staff and well done.

We were back at The Slate again. This was definitely our eighth or maybe even ninth stay, and we always love coming back. Sure, the journey from Europe takes a long time, but The Slate is always worth it. We always choose a Private Pool Suite and were delighted again this year. Great room and a great garden with a private pool. The garden is partially covered and has a wide daybed, so you can enjoy the outdoor area even when it rains. The garden and pool are thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis. The restaurants in the complex are of high quality and can be recommended without reservation at ultimately acceptable prices. I am already thinking about returning to our “second home in Thailand” in 2026. Once again, many thanks to the entire team and especially to Peter from Inga and Andreas We always enjoy coming to The Slate and are already looking forward to a future stay. Please keep up the good work at this high level. We enjoyed it very much once again.

Can I start by saying that everything about our stay was amazing at the Slate. The hotel - a beautiful resort, lots of thought has clearly gone into preserving the ecosystem when building the hotel. Keeping original materials from the old tin mine really shines through. Alongside this the constant maintenance that was clear keeps everything looking as if the hotel was only just built. The children’s pool area was brilliant for our young kids but also large enough for adults to feel like they could also have a space whilst the kids played. The Room - perfect for our family with enough room to have the kids sleeping and us and not feel cramped. Beautifully finished and very well maintained. Thank you to our room staff for keeping the room immaculate and tidying away the kids mess every day morning and evening! The restaurants - a little something for everyone. The tin mine - great for breakfast with so much choice and an easy way to have dinner with the kids as early as we needed too, because it’s such a big space we could find a big table away from the main area so people didn’t have to watch our boys run around the restaurant the whole time! Rivet - great food and great service, worth paying the extra money for. In particular the snow fish was probably the best dish I have had for a long time. Commendations to the chef for serving up some amazing food. Black ginger - food and service really good, but the aesthetic and feel is really what sets this restaurant apart. A really unique experience. The staff - now this is where the slate really comes into its own. The wonderful people and staff that run the hotel day to day. From people like Apple at the concierge who welcomed us in wonderful fashion and gave us a great run down on the history of the hotel as well as Peter who was always in the background making sure things ran like clockwork. To the brilliant staff in the restaurant who were always on hand to clear tables, serve food and get whatever you needed to enjoy your meal. Finally as we spent a lot of time at the pool with the kids we really got to know the pool team, and they are amazing. Ian in particular took care of us from the minute we arrived and made sure we had water, towels, food etc whenever we needed it. He was also lovely to talk to and really made an effort to make us feel special (as where all the staff In the hotel) All in all thank you so much for making our stay so special. We have all agreed to come back in early 2027 as it was so amazing and I’ll be in touch soon to book in our next trip.
