Overall, the hotel is just OK. It is nothing close to a real five star. If you want to have a comfortable stay, make sure that your room is not close to the road otherwise you will live a nightmare. The breakfast is not good at all. There is no private beach. However, the people working, there are kind and helpful. Hands up to them. 🙏🏻

So we came here for our honeymoon and at the time we booked it the reviews were quite good! And we got a really good price for 5 nights at the private pool villa. We were greeted with a beautiful honeymoon spread of flowers on our bed, and a full tub with flowers waiting for us. Here are a few of my thoughts after our stay! I think some of the other reviews, specifically the state of the rooms and the breakfast are a little unfair. I cannot speak to other rooms but from ours I understood the comments about it being dated… but I honestly thought it had a rustic charm! Nothing to be bothered about, and our furniture was sturdy enough! The breakfast had a great selection honestly! We stayed in many other hotels in SEA, and this was pretty standard breakfast. They had an espresso machine, and an egg station with someone that could cook your eggs any way you like. Like I said, I can’t speak to the other rooms, but I will say our private pool villa was absolutely worth every penny!!! We used the pool about 2-4 times a day, always refreshing and such a beautiful view of the Samui coast and ocean. It may not technically have a “beach front”, but you walk up like 5 minutes and you have a lovely beach right there. Our room was far away from the road so no sounds bothered us, it was very quiet. If you’re out late in the pools, you can even see some of the fire shows happening further away on the beach at night. A couple of slightly negatives… I thought the staff wasn’t the most helpful or friendly… didn’t really greet you when you came in, didn’t seem like they really wanted to help you out… would’ve been nice to have a beer or wine opener in the rooms or even in the hotel they could bring to the room. Lastly, our hotel is somewhat isolated from other areas. As long as you’re fine paying for grabs (which were quite pricey on Koh Samui) or renting a motor bike, it’s hard to get around and access food. But kind of nice being away from the crazy. In terms of cleanliness, our tub wasn’t the most clean… it had some grime on the sides and bottom that I cleaned myself with a couple of Lysol wipes. I’m sure if I had asked the staff they would’ve cleaned it themselves though, I just didn’t want to wait. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Sarann.

The hotel does not have a beach in front of it — the shoreline is all rocks, so you can’t really sit and chill by the beach. If you don’t book a sea view room or a room with a private pool, the main swimming pool is quite small compared to the number of rooms and guests. Breakfast options are limited — not a big issue, but it would help if staff kept things replenished more often. If you go down for breakfast late, there might not be much left. That said, the service from the staff is good, especially for Thai guests. Food and drink prices are reasonable, and the room rates are not too high — pretty fair overall. The rooms are a bit dated, but they come with a bathtub and even a jacuzzi, which is a nice bonus. WiFi is either not working or very slow, so using 5G is actually faster. All in all, it’s decent for the price you pay

We were lucky to get a beachside room with our own plunge pool. Beautiful except the tv CONSTANTLY had to be reset because connection lost. THEN the screen froze. With NO other entertainment, this was frustrating. The hotel is very clean, the room was lovely BUT a good hotel in a bad position. Yes, it's on the end of a Cove, but beach access is ridiculous. Choice 1 - walk down deep concrete steps onto slippery rocks being careful to not fall over onto the broken glass or choice 2- walk along the crazy busy main road onto rubbish filled wasteland. At night forget rock option as there is no light, or use the road in the dark to other bars; and walk through the wasteland and encounter some questionable people hanging around the derelict buildings along this part of the shore. So no choice of venues as a change of scene in the evenings. Pool is nice, but as two 70 year olds with knee issues, the VERY deep drop into the pool made access difficult. Food OK. wait staff lovely. The beach is good, could do with a cleanup, but there is NOTHING to do and NOTHING near enough without taking a taxi Disappointing, we don't expect wild night-life, but access to some form of more than just sitting around eating and drinking would be welcome. This is not Sarann's sole responsibility but the tourist industry's to encourage some form of entertainment and to clean up the area, particularly the rubbish and derelict buildings. .

Be cautious when booking – consider your room’s location carefully Approximately one-third of the buildings are located directly next to a busy road that is used nearly 24 hours a day. Sleeping was nearly impossible due to the constant traffic noise. We stayed for four days (three nights) and asked daily if we could move to another room. Each time, we were told that no other rooms were available. There was no initiative from the hotel to offer a solution or show any flexibility. We had to keep asking, and in the end, we left exhausted. The hotel is also far from any tourist attractions, supermarkets, or the city center. You definitely need a car or an expensive taxi to get anywhere. The rooms themselves are new and well-maintained, and in our case (aside from the entirely avoidable noise issue), worth the 60 EUR/USD per night. The breakfast was good, and the small pool was always clean. So if you’re “lucky,” it can be a pleasant stay – unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for us.
