Fairly new hotel rebuilt in 2019. Very modern construction formed of Suites with garden or Ocean views. Excellent location for Listing's and Bridgetown trips. Beautiful reception area, swimming pool long of blonde shape leading to the Bar, Restaurant and a large white sandy beach surrendered by Palm trees. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas (never runs out). Great food with superb variety. Credit to their staff such as Orion, Jakeel, Thirstin, Destiny, Cyrelene, Steven, David, Gregory and many more that I can't remember their names but nevertheless as efficient as the above mentioned. This was our 5th year in Barbados of those 3 years in the West Coast at The Club Barbados Resort and Spa. Decided to try something closer to the Airport and the Capital, so we chose This hotel THE SANDS. What a find, don't you worry we will be back. When we find a place that fulfill every need we make it our HOME. Leaving today, but not long to December 2026

We love The Sands Barbados! We stayed December 2024 and again in Dec 2025. Staff are friendly and kind. Rooms are clean and AC is great. Food is very good and main restaurant is organized, clean and inviting with beautiful views of the beach. Both a la carte and buffet is prepared to meet tourists needs, some traditional Bajan food during breakfast. Cocktails are amazing! Water and beach accessible, comfortable lounge chairs set up early with umbrellas. Hotel staff helpful for any tour bookings, car rentals etc...Only feedback for improvement is the service on the beach is hit or miss and sometimes in the dining room service is slow. I do highly recommend this all inclusive for couples or families. Meet people from all over the world.

I’m not really sure how to review this place. If you want Spain with better beaches then this place is for you. And that’s the thing. One persons experience can be totally different from the next persons, but it’s a long line to the bar to work that out…..viva Costa Del Sol!! We didn’t pay! 🤣 My parents did. So who are we to review?? As we smiled and nodded through this Lanzagroty experience? My family and I (Not my parents) are British expats from the North, living in the Caribbean, particularly, St. Lucia. But Barbados is the one island we’ve never been too. Always thinking it would put St Lucia to shame, albeit a bit more commercial…but impressive all the same. It wasn’t. It was far worse than that. It’s just Benidorm with a nice beach. Apparently this experience cost £4600 for 5 nights without flights. My God, when you finally get a beer at the end of a long line you’ll find a guy who will look through you and not even make eye contact. The guy with a bun….on the off chance management read these reviews. if you leave the place, which we did 3/5 dinners and lunches you will find decent restaurants in St. Laurence Gap, but I’m afraid it’s egg and chips in this place, only it will take you 20 minutes to get an egg and there’s no chips. Tiny portion all of miserably prepared food. My daughters asked for a new key to our room, the one we had stopped working. Two young teenagers. Politely, not unpleasant girls, in any way…. The staff laughed at them. Literally, in a nasty way, and told them it would be $50usd for a replacement. It’s a good job my wife didn’t tell me about this story until after I left. On Jan 1st, We literally got chased out of the dining area as they had, NO food left 🤣 I’m not making this up. It was 11AM. Brunch served all day…. For us, this place was disastrous and we are not snobs. I would find the hope in any situation. Clearly most guests have no expectations here. I understand direct flights and lower cost airfares are an attraction to Barbados but don’t waste your money. The people are seriously rude, unpleasant and unhelpful. Truthfully: Rooms were actually spacious, beds comfortable and as you would expect for the price. However, whatever you do, don’t use the washing machine. That’s not allowed. We were told off. We’d done 2 weeks in Florida before turning up to this place so we had clothes to clean…… we were scolded for using it as apparently it’s only for the apartment owners. I thought I was in a hotel room not a timeshare lol 😂 Good luck

Am a repeat guest of the hotel. So that should show you they are consistent. Location is amazing. My room was great but I have seen that some rooms require some updating. I have ready different reviews of service here. I have to say that I am personally treated great. But I think you get what you give in these situations. If you go in expecting the worst or getting frustrated just speak up. If you don’t like your dinner table, ask to move. If you want a refill, ask. The beach and pool are well maintained, and I would recommend this hotel. The value for the price is right on point.

The staff and security were terrific. Traveled with a first timer to the island. The remarks were the food at the Sands was really good. The location was perfect if you like to walk, as St Lawrence Gap was a leisurely walk away from the hotel and Rockley Beach was the same in the opposite direction. A return to this hotel at a future date is definitely on our list.
