Renovations

The following pool renovations have been confirmed this year:

  • Del Mar (Infinity) Pool: From May 5th to May 31st. During these dates, the Club Experience service for The Retreat guests will be available at El Mirador
  • Cascade Pool: From June 8th to July 31st. During these dates, the Lagoon Pool and Persian Garden pool will remain available for Citadel guests

The Lagoon, Persian Garden, Palmera, Iraya and Tacande pools will not be affected by these pool renovations.

From the moment we arrived, the level of service we experienced was truly exceptional. My wife and I chose this resort for our honeymoon, and despite a disastrous start to our trip—arriving 12 hours late and entirely without our luggage due to airline complications—the staff immediately turned our experience around. They were incredibly accommodating, ensuring we had all the basic essentials we needed and expertly pointing us in the right direction to get settled. The room itself far exceeded our expectations. Furthermore, the staff consistently delivered top-tier, unparalleled customer service; their kindness and helpfulness cannot be overstated. The property is massive and remarkably self-contained. It features everything you could possibly need, meaning you never actually have to leave the resort grounds. However, should you wish to explore, it is conveniently located just minutes away from outside entertainment and attractions. I cannot recommend this resort highly enough, though there is one caveat for future travelers to consider. Given the premium price point and the overall sophisticated, classy ambiance of the property, the presence of noisy children and unruly parents felt quite out of place. While this behavioral issue falls squarely on the guests rather than the resort management, I do wish this was an adults-only establishment, as we paid a premium and expected an atmosphere to match. Despite that minor grievance regarding the clientele, the resort itself is spectacular. If I could award them 12 stars, I would do so without hesitation.

Was an amazing hotel with amazing food, a beautiful beach, and beautiful rooms. We even got an upgrade to an ocean view room. The staff at the check in desk are amazing, kind and accommodating. The bar tender inside is exceptional. However, we had to wait around twenty minutes at the pool to get a towel, no service ever came to take our order. Not a problem, that is normal in life. However, when you are paying ritz prices, you should be allowed to expect a certain type of service. This was only at the pool we experienced this problem though. Breakfast was amazing and the staff at breakfast were exceptional. Poolside service was the only problem. Oh and our room wasn’t cleaned 3/7 days of our stay. Would give five stars if the price wasn’t so high.

By far the best hotel on the island! I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again—it’s the only place I’ll ever book. Having a private beach is a huge plus; we loved it so much we even paid to visit after our stay ended. If you want great ocean swimming, this is the place. Beyond the beach, the team is wonderfully welcoming and positive. The on-site restaurants are also top-notch. I’m definitely planning my next visit!

We spent an amazing week here with our son and had a wonderful experience overall. The hotel is definitely very family oriented and the location is perfect if you have your own car. Everything is well thought out, from the beach, which you can easily reach with the hotel train, to the pools and the outdoor play areas. What impressed us the most, though, was the service. Everyone we interacted with — from the breakfast team to the pool staff, restaurants, reception and concierge — was incredibly friendly, professional and attentive. We truly felt taken care of throughout our stay. A special highlight for our son was the little train around the resort and feeding the koi fish, which he absolutely loved. We would definitely recommend The Ritz in Abama if you’re planning a relaxed and memorable family holiday.

We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton for a total of three nights and would happily return anytime. The hotel grounds as well as the rooms are very clean and well maintained. Our room was especially spacious, offering plenty of comfort, privacy, and peace. The entire staff was remarkably friendly and attentive throughout our stay. We were particularly impressed by the breakfast and its wide variety of options. The spa area also has a lot to offer- although it’s a bit of a downside that there is an additional €30 fee per person to access it, it was definitely worth it. The interior design of the hotel is very tasteful and elegant. If you have a rental car, which I highly recommend for exploring the island, you can conveniently park it free of charge on the hotel premises. We are looking forward to our next stay at the Ritz-Carlton in Tenerife!
