We spent an amazing week here with our son and had a wonderful experience overall. The hotel is definitely very family oriented and the location is perfect if you have your own car. Everything is well thought out, from the beach, which you can easily reach with the hotel train, to the pools and the outdoor play areas. What impressed us the most, though, was the service. Everyone we interacted with — from the breakfast team to the pool staff, restaurants, reception and concierge — was incredibly friendly, professional and attentive. We truly felt taken care of throughout our stay. A special highlight for our son was the little train around the resort and feeding the koi fish, which he absolutely loved. We would definitely recommend The Ritz in Abama if you’re planning a relaxed and memorable family holiday.

The staff was very attentive and helpful throughout our stay. We were lucky to get upgraded to a bigger room. Checkin was fast but finding your way to the room can be a navigation challenge. The free wifi was very slow, probably unusable for online meetings. The public areas were very stylish and well maintained, loved the colors. We struggled to find the adults pool (no signs) but eventually found it and it was nice and quiet. The view, service and food at the El Mirador restaurant were excellent. Buffee breakfast had great choice and quality, fresh fruits but was very busy on most mornings. We had to book tennis directly the provider, not offered by the hotel. Hotel's transportation can take you to the nearby tennis and golf courts. The location of the hotel is isolated, nothing in walking distance nearby so you will need a car.

The only thing keeping this place from 5 stars is the restaurant pricing and availability. You need to have reservations every night, even if you're planning on a 6pm dinner right when the restaurants open. This kinda takes away from the spontaneous nature of vacationing. Ideally it would be best to be able to walk into at least 1 of the 6 or 7 restaurants without a reservation, even when the hotel is fully booked. Additionally the prices at dinner are not something to gloss over, if you're staying for a week, I would be prepared to spend nearly €1.000 total on dinners for a trip for 2 adults with a drink at each dinner. I get it, it's a Ritz-Carlton resort but its really hard to justify needing to spend that much at dinner, and requiring a reservation for every evening a week in advance. I think there's some room for improvement on value and availability for dinner. The rest of the experience was truly great. I absolutely understand there's overhead costs, and resorts/hotels don't get nice like this without bringing in some cash everywhere they can especially with as much staff as it takes to run a place like this. Im mostly sharing to help others be prepared for the trip, not really complaining out of disappointment. As I said the rest of the stay was awesome.

Arrived at 6pm for 3 nights and on arrival was told they only had two spaces in their many restaurants at 6.15 and 6.30. It took 10 mins to get to the room so we had to rush down to the vegetarian restaurant, the only real option for a, tasty, mini portion, maxi price meal. In three weeks prior travelling we have had superb food and wine but never seen wine at 15 euros a glass...if you like being ripped off this is the place for you. First bite at breakfast the next morning I bit on a 20mm piece of broken glass in or on the smoked salmon. I gave it to a waitress and showed her the place it had come from and suggested she remove the plate and the one below. I was very lucky not to have badly cut my mouth or swallowed it. She took room number but I have not heard anything since...no apology. This morning at 9 am on our last full day we tried to book the Asian restaurant which has been closed for the last two days. Only to be told its fully booked for tonight. Completely hopeless. The staff are friendly but the hotels ethos is to rip you off and treat you as if you are lucky to be staying here. The opposite is true, there are many many places that give much better service in the Canaries, we've been to many. This is our first review below 4 stars on these islands. AVOID

This place made our celebration feel truly special in a way that’s hard to put into words. From the moment we arrived, there was a sense of calm and intention—nothing rushed, nothing forced, just beauty and ease everywhere you looked. Quite different than my prior trip & introduction to Tenerife. The setting alone is unreal. The ocean, the cliffs, the light at sunset—it felt expansive and grounding at the same time. But what really stood out was how seamlessly everything came together. The service was thoughtful and intuitive, never overbearing, and every small detail made us all feel genuinely cared for. Some places you visit. Others become part of a memory you’ll carry forever. This was absolutely the latter. Celebrating here didn’t just mark a moment—it elevated it. I’ll always associate this place with joy, presence, and something quietly magical, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return with the right person!
