My wife and I enjoyed our stay here, the first stop while on our Mauritius honeymoon. Room was nice and spacious, staff was very friendly and attentive. Live music was cool and the Sega show one of the nights. Buffet was solid with great variety and themed nights. Quality of food I’d say 4/5, others on the island were a bit more fresh. Good selection of water activities that are included. Great spa and sauna. Their own stretch of beach which was beautiful, though very windy. Location-wise it’s not particularly close to other things within walking distance, though it’s a short drive from the largest outdoor market in Mauritius and a mid-sized mall. One note, I’m a little iffy on calling your nicest restaurant “The Plantation”. Especially given the island’s history, the choice of name feels a bit tone-deaf. I get they’re going for the colonial old-world vibes, and perhaps there’s local context I’m missing, but from a guest’s perspective it came across as a pretty questionable branding decision. Overall great experience.

Our stay at La Résidence Hotel was absolutely incredible – a truly 5-star experience from start to finish. The hotel boasts stunning white sand beaches fringed with swaying palm trees, creating the perfect idyllic backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The service was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff always on hand to ensure our comfort. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and impeccably maintained, offering all the amenities you'd expect from a luxury beach hotel. A huge highlight was the buffet, which offered an impressive and delicious selection of fresh foods. We enjoyed a fantastic array of dishes from Indian, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Far East cuisines, with an extensive choice of both meat and fish dishes. The desserts were amazing, featuring a delightful variety of pastries, cakes, and ice cream that pleased both kids and adults. The breakfast buffet was equally extensive, providing a perfect start to each day. The hotel also offers fantastic amenities for children, including a dedicated kids' club, and for everyone, inclusive tennis courts, snorkeling, and glass-bottom boat trips. For scuba diving enthusiasts, the on-site diving center is a real gem. They provide all the necessary equipment, and the instructors are incredibly friendly and professional, speaking both English and French, which is a great convenience. La Résidence Hotel truly exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to return to this little piece of paradise!

We spent a very nice 2 week holiday (July/August) at The Residence in Belle Mare! Upon arrival we got a free upgrade to a suite, how cool is that! We didn't even ask for it...! So nice, was only exceeded by the friendliness of all the staff! Very professionel & well trained and courteous! And compliments to the kitchen, you cook so well!!! Thanks for the nice and varied food! And sorry we ate so many crème brûlées! The beach is clean and tidy and there are plenty of beach chairs and even fresh, cooled water for everyone. The sea is rather shallowish with a biiit of a current. The water temperature is actually quite good - refreshing, but not too hot and not too cold. The sauna is good (~80 °C), I haven't tried the steam bath. Plenty of massages possible in the Spa if desired (... haven't tried them either, but nice athmosphere there!). The guest origin is very international, you literally meet people from everywhere, a nice mix from all over the world! Speaking of it – there is also a library with different languaged books. Got the Alan Partridge book but failed to read it due to other stuff we did (i. e. snorkeling & water sofa riding). Both was great by the way. You can go snorkelling directly from the beach if you have your own gear, but I think you see more fish if you book a slot to go to the coral reef by motorboat 100-200m out (free of charge, 2x daily, at 11:00 and 15:00h, snorkelling spot is in sight of beach.) You should plan in advance, they are booked well. We saw some interesting fish, they were quite cute and curious. Ah yes... Don't be as stupid as we were and forget a towel! It's quite windy out there and bit chilly... (Thanks again to the nice french speaking family for helping us out!) Kayaking is also free of charge and fun! You can just go there and either get a single or a double kayak or a pedal boat. Sailing and windsurfing is also possible but haven't tried it because I can't even stand on a bloody SUP-Board for 5 seconds. Diving is also possible. The wifi is better in some places than in others, but even had reception lying at the beach... All in all I can recommend this hotel without reservation! Thanks again to everybody for making our stay at your nice hotel so pleasant and memorable! ;-)

Overall, the hotel is very good considering the price of the rooms. The rooms are spacious, have great views, and are in excellent condition. The hotel’s beach is also very nice — there are sunbeds available and the service is excellent. The butler service can feel a bit too intense at times, but that might just be my personal impression. Physically, the hotel isn’t the most beautiful and it does show signs of age, but it’s still in good condition overall. There are only two restaurants — the buffet and another one by the beach. In my opinion, it would be great to have a couple more dining options, like in other hotels I’ve stayed at on the island. Still, everything else was very good. Highly recommend the whale watching excursion to Tamarin that the hotel organizes — it was a fantastic experience!

I stay here a few months ago, The place is lovely and staff are ok Depending on who you get. We were I went all inclusive and the only thing I didn’t like is every time I asked for an alcoholic drink after a few days off the staff getting to know me it seemed like they were frowning upon this, which was a bit Uncomfortable as they made me feel uncomfortable and I did feel quite pressured to give tips. I would understand if there was an issue with my behaviour but there was no such thing if I ordered three drinks in the whole day that would’ve been looked Down on. If they paid for my holiday, I would understand it but they haven’t. We were one of the very few couples that went all inclusive. For the money we paid for the holiday and how I felt uncomfortable really wasn’t worth it. I’m actually sick of being made to feel guilty of the staff working in resorts like this because they are on the paid. Also a plantation once a week and if I remember right on the Thursday is shut because they allow the locals on the beach which is fine obviously but they don’t warn you and there are hundreds. They literally take over the beach on the resort. I would sum up that this is okay nothing special.
