Overall, the hotel is very good considering the price of the rooms. The rooms are spacious, have great views, and are in excellent condition. The hotel’s beach is also very nice — there are sunbeds available and the service is excellent. The butler service can feel a bit too intense at times, but that might just be my personal impression. Physically, the hotel isn’t the most beautiful and it does show signs of age, but it’s still in good condition overall. There are only two restaurants — the buffet and another one by the beach. In my opinion, it would be great to have a couple more dining options, like in other hotels I’ve stayed at on the island. Still, everything else was very good. Highly recommend the whale watching excursion to Tamarin that the hotel organizes — it was a fantastic experience!

Unfortunately, our experience at The Residence Mauritius was disappointing. While the property looks beautiful, the service and attitude of the staff fell far below expectations. Most of the staff seemed untrained and unwelcoming.There was a noticeable shortage of staff, which affected the overall experience. The hotel also did not feel kid-friendly at all. In fact, it often felt like kids were not welcome, which made the stay uncomfortable for families. The only positive exception was the kids club, where the staff were amazing and truly kind to the children they deserve recognition. Sadly, we noticed that if you’re white, you’re treated with smiles and extra attention. This kind of behavior should have no place in hospitality. The swimming pool is very cold and not heated, which made it unusable for children. If you’re planning a family trip to Mauritius, I highly recommend staying in the Le Morne area instead. It’s absolutely beautiful, and for families with kids, LUX Belle Mare* is a much better choice. They are welcoming, truly kid-friendly, and offer heated pools, excellent service, and warm hospitality.

This hotel is beautiful. Stunning pools, pristine beach and the food! Best hotel I have been to my entire life. Air-conditioned rooms. The staff are so polite and respectful, always greeting us at every turn. I'm definitely coming back!

Our stay on 24 May 2025 was really pleasant. We stayed at the hotel with a baby and family members. The service was super good, friendly, helpful and caring staff. They exceeded pur expectation. Many thanks to our butler as well. The room was comfortable and clean with nice sea and pool view They provided late check out and offered a birthday cake. Kudos to the whole team Even the chefs were friendly and encouraged us to try more food. The food very yummy and there was a large variety unlike many other hotels. Their quality as well was much better compared to other hotels. Grilled seafood was included in the buffet Being someone you stayed in various hotels both in Mauritius and abroad, i highly recommend the residence maurtius

Spent 13 days half board, couple with a child. Staff friendly and will go above to please. Hotel /rooms/ yard very well looked after including the beach. Only let down is the entertainment which is below average for a 5 star hotel. Plus side is the food - buffet style was above expectation with various cuisine different days. Stephane and his team do very well with communicating and assisting the clients. Special mention to Sanjay who apart from cooking some delicious dishes does very well accommodating and spending time with the clients. Overall very good experience and would recommend this hotel
