An outstanding stay from start to finish! My stay at The Residence Mauritius was absolutely wonderful. From the very first moment, I felt genuinely welcome and extremely well taken care of. The reception staff were warm, friendly, and highly professional. I was greeted with a delicious welcome drink and received a thorough introduction to the hotel. My luggage was handled seamlessly and brought directly to the room. The room itself was fantastic. Perfectly equipped, spotless, and beautifully maintained. Housekeeping did an outstanding job every single day, including daily replacement of fresh water. The beach and pool areas were awesome! Comfortable loungers, breathtaking ocean views, and truly outstanding service. The staff were extremely attentive, prepared the loungers with fresh towels, and regularly offered drinks directly at the loungers, creating a consistently relaxed and premium experience. Tip: Don’t miss ordering a fresh coconut and simply enjoying the pure taste of coconut water. The Dining Room deserves special recognition. It is one of the best buffet restaurants I have ever experienced. Both breakfast and dinner were exceptional in every aspect. Breakfast offered a fantastic variety of fresh, high-quality options and was a perfect start to the day. Dinner featured different themed evenings with outstanding food quality throughout. Everything was freshly prepared, beautifully presented, and incredibly flavorful. The fish dishes in particular were phenomenal and among the best I have ever had. What truly stood out was how exceptionally well managed The Dining Room is. The restaurant is clearly run with great attention to detail. The manager and the entire team had everything perfectly under control at all times. Service ran smoothly, efficiently, and with genuine warmth, making every visit a pleasure. The entire resort is super well maintained, with beautiful gardens that invite you to explore the grounds. The beach is stunning, and the peaceful moments by the ocean will stay with me for a long time. Overall, this hotel exceeded all expectations. I felt extremely comfortable throughout my stay and will definitely return!

Having first extensively researched Mauritius for a suitable hotel that could cater for my wife’s food allergies and following several emails to confirm her dietary needs, we settled on The Residence for our nine day stay, confident in the assurances that had been been given that dietary needs would be satisfied. We arrived in time for dinner on our first day and it became apparent that the hotel had made no provision for my wife’s dietary needs!! Whilst all other diners were being offered a multitude of choices from the buffet, for every course, my wife was excluded and left with very little or no choice. We spoke with managers and chefs to express our disappointment and were assured that things would improve. Unfortunately they did not!! My wife was presented with a set starter, main and dessert on subsequent nights, that for a five star hotel reflected that they just didn’t care!! We suggested several times that they should prepare a menu of several dinner and dessert choices from which my wife could make a selection safe in the knowledge that her dietary needs would be satisfied. This suggestion was not taken up and my wife continued to be given a starter, main and dessert over which she had no influence and often didn’t like! As a five star hotel with buffet meal offerings, their preparation and delivery of meals for guests with food allergies is non existent and very poor value given the price paid. The poor food offering and the constant trepidation of having to discuss the matter with managers before and after every meal has certainly ruined our stay and made us feel like we are not being listened to. With no other food offerings available in the resort, my wife has gone hungry on more than one occasion, which for the prices charged is wholly unacceptable!! Anyone with special dietary needs should seriously consider staying here, irrespective of any prior assurance given.

This hotel is 5 star in location , rooms , service and the food in the plantation resurant is excellent. The buffet food in the evening the quality , variety and presentation needs some attention. Area of excellent are the Plantation restaurant under the mangment of Radhoa is of high quality and exceptional food. The spa treatment by Aurelie and Clina were outstanding. Sailen the butler was attentive to all our needs, and no job was too small for him . Jackie the waitress in the bar area was friendly and always has a smile for the guests in welcoming them and attending to them. Overall hotel is excellent , would come cack again.

An amazing hotel, we have been to Mauritius many times and stayed at many hotels, I can very certainly state that the residence is my favourite, save for the situation with the horses. The bathrooms were very clean. The rooms were clean and even though Mauritius is very humid it was very nice to not have the bedding or any of the linen have that humid feel or smell to it. The tiles were clean and absorbent. Amenities were plenty. The breakfast was very nice however it’s the same food every morning they really could work on changing that. I would also suggest that the heat the pool as we were there the end of September and it was too cold to swim had the pool he been hit though we would’ve been able to swim. There is one activity I would like to highlight which is extremely disappointing and that is the horse riding. Every morning horses walk up and down the beach for photo opportunities with guests who pay for it however as the horses walk through the ocean, they defecate into the ocean very close to the shore. This was really offputting and also very unhygienic and because of this we could not put our kids or allow them to go into the ocean, this is why I gave the hotel 4 stars. It is also the reason I will not recommend people with babies or very young kids to stay here. Very sad that this one thing can ruin such an amazing hotel.

We had a really wonderful stay at the residence. We were happy with everything, the cleanliness of the rooms, the customer service, the food and the beach. Everything was a 10/10. I really appreciate the team at reception for accommodating me with another room until we had to go airport in the evening on the day we checked out as I'm pregnant and they understood that I will need to rest. I really appreciated that🙏🏼 The spa facility was really good too, wonderful staff and they took care of me really well. The beach is one of the best beaches I've seen so far in my life, I would spend every day on that beach if I could, really clean and quiet, not crowded. The food at the buffet was really good too, I enjoyed everything. What really caught my eye was how welcoming, kind and warm the staff were towards us and other guests. Bless everyone that works there, I just love kind people. If we ever return to Mauritius, we will definitely stay here again
